Humans have created a lot of fascinating an enjoyable things, but that hardly means they're better. There's only so much you can do when bound by mortality and your own fate.

[It's a view he's held for centuries, not something so easily swayed, though the corners of his mouth do twitch upwards in a small but brief smile when Kazuha calls out sake specifically. He knows the man is teasing him with that, much like how he refuses to let the samurai's recklessness go, he imagines he's not about to hear the end of how he go drunk and fell asleep in his lap.

At least the younger man wasn't taking it poorly, he sees the smile despite the subject matter. Scaramouche feels if he took offence he would have said something, or at the very least looked displeased at his words. Mention that his creator shares similar views has him folding his arms in a huff, the strap on the shamisen held tightly as to not allow it to slide from his lap.]

Tch, so she's said. If you weren't mortal perhaps it would be easier to understand. There is nothing wrong with being alone.

[Nor is it an issue to him. The Balladeer has been honest when he's brought it up before, that he'd grown so accustomed to being by himself that it became the norm. That where many would find feelings of discomfort and loneliness, he felt little to nothing. It had only helped that his view on others was that he surpassed them, meaning there was little desire to seek people out for anything past entertainment.

When people had no meaning it was easy to enjoy being alone. When most he couldn't stand to be around.]

It stands out. Aside from your own, what use do you have for birthdays?
