[The laugh rings loud and clear in his mind, and Scaramouche finds himself thankful that Kazuha doesn't press further, seemingly pleased with his response. He supposes if there was any time for the samurai to feel spoiled it should be when celebrating his birthday, something he still doesn't see much point in aside from humans foolishly trying to make the best out of their mortality.

A mortality all too clear as Kazuha smiles at him and explains that his best friend had passed when the war began.

The Harbinger wonders if he should feel bad about that, the war being generated in no small part by the Fatui, but it hadn't been his idea. He's long since past caring about human lives, responsible or not. They all had their fates, that the ploy his colleague had orchestrated resulted in the death of the man's friend means little - one way or another he would have ended the same, especially in Inazuma. And despite Kazuha's sentimental nature he still can't read just how he feels about it.

Scaramouche doesn't imagine the man is pleased, but when there is no change in his face he can do no more than base assumptions off of how other humans tended to react to such things, or his own personal experiences.

His own gaze doesn't return to the displayed insects, deep indigo eyes set on merely staring as he offers a quiet hum. What could even be said about loss? He can't imagine Kazuha wants to actually hear his thoughts on the matter.

Moving on to his own immortality is much simpler.]

I would hardly last Eternity if it were that easy. Most seem not to, but I couldn't say I'm immune to them all.
