Not exactly. The youkai of my world are different than those native to this one and the majority of humanity is 'Dormant'. They're said to have lost their ability to perceive the world beyond the physical. They're spiritually blind. Some are born 'Awakened' -- that is, their eyes are open to the spiritual and they can see the whole of the world as it truly is -- and Dormant individuals can awaken, but Awakening after a certain point isn't an easy or clean process.

[ She gestures as she speaks, not minding that it's likely obvious she's explained and taught about the subject before. To that end, this is fairly easy, if also a bit easy to get caught up explaining. ]

It's gaining a sense in addition to the five humans normally possess. It isn't just the ability to seethe whole of the world, but to passively and actively sense it. Everything that is and was is suddenly obvious and it cannot be switched off.
