It is understandable.

[ Many of the people she's met and would like to see again would understand, but she wonders if Lewin would. She's always assumed he would be okay when faced with her absence. Provided he remembered her and their time together, that is. If he didn't, for him, it wouldn't be an issue. You can't miss what you don't remember and he'd be comfortable in the world loves, safely away from the whims of foreign gods and demons.

If he did remember, now knowing that he actually likes her, she isn't sure he would understand. If anything, he'd probably sit on his ass and wait for her to chase him down. That's how it's always been, not that she's wholly complaining at the thought. If anything, she's almost fondly exasperated at the thought despite a tinge of... something, something she pushes to the side after a moment. ]


I suppose it's understandable for the majority to accept the inevitability of separation and the prospect of its permanence. In my experience, faced with their arrival in another world, the majority tend to be shocked at the reality.
