"Then I don't see how any of that is your fault..." Aerith spoke as kindly as she could, her voice soft and holding warmth, even if their was a hint of sympathetic pain there too. "Your people..." Could she really judge them? It seemed a hugely kneejerk reaction, but at the same time, if they were all being held hostage and saw no other way out...? She thought about what Wufei had told her quietly for a moment or two more before she took a breath and believed she could reply now.

Aerith scooted closer and reached out a hand to lightly rest upon Wufei's back. "Listen to me. Your people sacrificed themselves for a reason. You were their hope. They took all the hope they had left in the world and they passed it to you, and then freed you of any obligations. They were your weakness and used against you. They removed that weakness so you could fight freely..." Aerith sighed. "I don't agree with it. That is a lot of pressure to put on your shoulders. But at the same time... I understand that kind of sacrifice. I understand from their point-of-view more than your own. So with that in mind, I can tell you that they would never have wanted you to die. You were their last hope for the future. And only by having a future do you ensure that their sacrifice was worth something."
