[ the "sword" is in his hands before he can stop himself, more out of curiosity than anything. why they would call it Excalibur is beyond him, and with the flavor text of one of the signs advertising that it had "hidden features" he felt almost compelled to investigate for himself. it was, of course, nothing like his sword (unsurprisingly), and so he could only imagine that this was meant to be some kind of novelty item named thusly because of the size of the weapon more than anything.

... it was a weapon, wasn't it? they sure didn't have anything like this in either of the eras he'd been been summoned into prior to his arrival in the world he'd been before, so it was hard to say what else it could have been ...

the voice speaking up beside him makes him start a little, and it's more out of the sake of propriety and decorum that has him immediately setting the sword aside, almost like he'd suddenly remembered who and where he was. what the stranger says gets a curious look from him and he finds himself giving the man a quick once-over, trying to gauge his intentions.

likewise, there is no Grail War here. there isn't even a black beast as far as he knows, so there really isn't any need for him to be cautious. all the same -- ]
