Surely now that they've taken this step forward in their relationship, it won't be nearly as awkward if Gaura happens to notice Silver's arousal. He doesn't expect anything to come of that, it's far too soon! But at least Gaura should, as a man, understand the nature of things. Even still, he doesn't pull Gaura flush against him. There's still a tinge of embarrassment.
