He's thankful that the violence that plagued Midgar didn't follow them to Nippon, however he's found himself wishing he could have some aspects of his old life here with him as well. He enjoyed his line of work, as horrible as it was. He was good at what he did and he didn't have to answer to anybody but himself and Rufus, especially now that Rufus had become President.

But none of that matters in Nippon. There's no need for interrogations, no need for the level of violence he saw on a daily basis from himself and his Turks. There's no need for espionage, for all of the dirty work he did for Shinra.
