Rhea'li stares at Thancred for a long moment as the other man's words sink in. How? Why? Emet-Selch and Hythlodaeus recall him with perfect clarity. Yet one of his close friends and coworker does not?
"I..." Words fail him. His ears and tail droop for a moment, before he takes a breath and rallies. "...My name is Rhea'li Akhbala. I joined the Scions when we were stationed in the Waking Sands and have remained one until its eventual official disbandment."
He understands a little better, he thinks, the emotion Emet-Selch must have felt upon speaking to him and seeing not a single spark of recognition.
"But most others know me as the Warrior of Light."
But who would believe such a bold claim? Especially if Thancred does not recognise him at all. What proof does he have of his identity when his appearance counts for naught? A flash of inspiration strikes him and Rhea'li reaches into his pocket, drawing out the Azem crystal that all the Scions had seen when they spoke with Hydaelyn... Venat. Silently, Rhea'li turns his hand and unfurls his fingers, letting Thancred see the orange-yellow crystal resting on his palm.
