Jingyi has been staying at the Shrine of Moonlit Frost ever since he experienced the abrupt bond break of losing Wei Wuxian and his beloved clan leader. He's been well enough to travel back home to check on the animals and retrieve anything his shifu might need.

However, it's a couple hours after bedtime when he jolts awake with a loud, agonizing cry. The pain that erupts inside him is far worse than the last time. All he can taste and smell is blood and try as he might, he can't see anything.

Whenever some comes in to his room, they'll find blood staining his chin and trails of blood like tears down his cheeks.
