Open - Ayakashi Curse

⌛ Who: Riley and whoever comes across him
⌛ What: Riley has been cursed by a stalker ayakashi! Now he's terrified!
⌛ When: Until he's cured and after he's moved into his new home
⌛ Where: Various locations
⌛ Warnings: Riley has a lot of trauma involving being stalked and hurt and people around him being hurt. That's sure to come out here.

A. Cursed!

Coming home late wasn't unusual for Riley. Even with their new residence being in a more unsavory location that didn't stop him from his usual pathway. So it wasn't any surprise that he was out late carrying a bag of new books and sweets on his way home. It was all fine and totally like he always experienced. Well until he realized that he saw something out of the corner of his eye.

Pausing, he stared into the distance then swallowed and started to move again. There was someone behind him. He was sure of it. His heart raced faster and faster until suddenly he found himself running and rushing for his home. Anyone who saw him would see a terrified looking young man with blond hair who kept looking behind him...

B. Paranoia

He kept trying to tell himself no one was there. He did. But every time he went anywhere he was sure someone was chasing him. It was the Fae all over again and while he was in a crowded street he suddenly took off running. There were tears in his eyes as he ran full tilt into someone. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"

Panicked, he looked behind him but couldn't see anyone. But he knew they were there!

"I'm sorry!" He just didn't know what else to say...

C. Cure

His adopted family decided that the best way to help their little brother was with a party. That meant that they had dragged him to Pete's and, for a change, someone had shoved alcohol into his hand. At first he was too nervous to drink it, likely even needing encouragement from his loved ones. He just kept looking around like he was convinced someone in the bar was going to get him.

But after that drink suddenly he was sloshed and giggling. Someone chasing him? What was that? Falling out of his seat at one point, he blinked then laughed again as he tried to start the second glass he'd been given. (Yes, only one drink had gotten him wasted. Just Fae things.) Seeing someone come over, he'd grin and wave his drink around without a care that he was spilling it everywhere.

Getting Riley drunk? Apparently that was the cure.

"P'Kinn thinks it might be the magic of this place too. He couldn't see anyone either."

Which told him that he really was the only one seeing these shadows. He wished that weren't true but he knew that it had to be. Not caring that Xie was currently on the floor, he crawled onto his lap and wrapped his arms around his neck.

"I'm so scared..."

"Spells can be cruel." Xie welcomes the weight on his lap and he snuggles Riley immediately, kissing his shoulder, "I know you are. I would be spooked too!" he shakes his head, angry at whoever had cast this curse, "Do you want me to stay?"

Riley nodded against his shoulder. Even if Will came back that night he'd just ask them both to stay. He didn't want to be alone. It was terrifying enough on his own but at least with someone there to talk to him it somewhat distracted him even if it wasn't fully. At this point somewhat was better than nothing.

"Please stay tonight..."

"I will." Xie promises and lifts Riley into his arms as he stands. He walks to a chair and sits down, nestling his boyfriend on his lap.

"If you like, I can place traps at each window too." he always keeps enough materials on him to make sure he can at least keep a room secure.

Wrapping his legs around his boyfriend, he let himself be carried over to the chair where he just stayed clinging to him. He didn't want to let go now that he had him there. Honestly, Riley wasn't even sure if he could at this point.

"...You can do that?" Of course Xie could. But right now he just needed to hear it.

"Yes. I know you won't feel entirely safe until the curse runs its course, but that should help." Xie has no problem snuggling Riley against him, his hands caressing his sides and back.

"And when you feel sleepy, I will hold you."

"I don't know how I'm going to sleep right now."

Sleep just didn't seem like it was possible with how he was feeling right now. But he knew he'd have to at some point. Somehow. Maybe if he wasn't alone then he'd be able to. "Maybe trapping the windows will help."

"Of course," Will assured in a soothing tone. He stood up and pulled the draperies closed. It darkened the room a bit, but Will didn't mind if Riley was okay with it. When he returned, he wrapped his arms around Riley and pulled him against his chest. "I'm here."

Wrapping his arms around Will's waist, he buried his face in his chest. "Xie and P'Kinn think it's the magic of this place. So I tried to go out because it couldn't be real. But...it feels so real. I know it's there and I know it wants to hurt me."

And the fact that it felt so real was terrifying for him.

"You know how vain I am. Just stay focused on me, love." Xie teases and pulls Riley into a soft kiss, nuzzling their noses together, "I'll see to it. Can you wait right here for me?"

"I believe you, pitya." Maglor eyes the shadows and growls, low, the sound lashing out like a curling wave retreating, the prelude to something far more dangerous.

"Come, let's head for brighter climes. I will not let it hurt you, Riley."

Kinn looked at Riley and then slid his chair over so they could touch. He wound his bad arm around Riley's shoulders to keep him close. "I will keep being right until I have to kill something." He sighed softly, taking a moment to message the necessary people so they could come and help.

"The shitty thing about this place is that there are no cute cat videos to watch." Levity is mandatory.

"Try it and see," Vegas encouraged. This will, probably, someday bite him in the ass.

"Whatever it is will have to go through me first if it wants to get to you, love." Though he didn't see any sign of the Fae or anything else following Riley. Maybe Kinn and Xie were on the right track. He hasn't been here long enough to know what sort of weird things the magic of Nippon can do. Whatever was going on, he was prepared in his heart for a real threat that must be faced!

"Oh! I hadn't known!" Those grey eyes start darting around to find who might be glaring at him for daring to offer Riley a drink. Seeing no one (for now), he sighs quietly.

Grateful for Will protecting him, he tried so hard to not be overwhelmed. He fully trusted his boyfriend just like he did the other two. But it was hard when the curse had such a hold over him. His heart wanted to trust and relax but the magic simply wouldn't allow him to do that. Still, Riley was trying very hard despite that. "...thank you."

"Okay!" Still believing that Vegas had given him alcohol, Riley started to chug it without a clue in the world that this was so easy because it was just water. When he was done, he almost fell flat on his back on the floor. Almost. Luckily if he had he was already sitting on the floor so it wouldn't have been far anyway.

"I did it!"

"People keep telling me to drink. I guess I am now!" Evidenced by how he was now mouthing the straw and then sucking on it like it was juice. It seriously tasted that way though! You couldn't taste the alcohol even a little bit! Truly a dangerous drink for a Fae if he weren't so heavily protected in this bar.

"I like this. I like you too. Your boy... Not boyfriend. Your...um..." Nope. He could not remember fiance. "Your flower boy is lucky because you're so nice and so pretty. He's really pretty too so you're lucky too!"

"Please."

Maglor would keep him safe. He kept telling himself this over and over again. But it was so hard to really believe that when the magic working away at his mind was essentially locking away the reassurance so he couldn't access it. Riley sure was trying though, essentially trying to force himself to trust Maglor to get him somewhere safer.

Touch was grounding, even if only the tiniest bit. Kinn was going to be right though. He was going to tell himself that over and over. Kinn was right and it was just the magic of this place. He was going to be okay because the magic would go away eventually.

"Xie's making sure there's really nothing out there. He said he would check everything for us after I asked." And since his boyfriend was a former assassin, he fully believed that Xie would be thorough.

Nodding, he glanced at the windows then away quickly. Like he was so sure that there was someone outside of them. "Can...can you make sure that they're locked too? And that he blinds will stay closed? Please?"

He knew that it was probably so silly to ask for so much like this. But he was genuinely scared of something getting in.

"I will, love." Xie shifts their positions and tucks Riley into the chair with a kiss to his forehead, "Don't look at them. There isn't anyone there."

He moves to each window, locking them if they aren't locked and shutting the blinds. He places a talisman on each one, writing out the spell he intends for an intruder.

Because he couldn't stop looking, he did the next best thing. He quite literally covered his face with his hands. It probably seemed so childish and he even felt childish doing it. Yet right then it just felt like the only way he knew to really keep himself from looking.

After all this was what Kinn had done. Blindfolded him while he took care of things.

Each window is seen to - as are the vents. Then Xie returns to Riley, making enough noise so his boyfriend knows he is close.

"All sealed, A-Ley. If you see anything, we will know it isn't real. It's not the Fae." he adds, suspecting that is Riley's greatest fear.

Ah, so that's why Xie took liberties. While Kinn still didn't like someone messing with his property without his knowledge or permission, he knew he needed to let it go. If this wasn't such a pressing matter with Riley, he would have gone off on the other man, assassin or no.

"So you have mafia, assassins, and Fae on your side. What could get past all of us, huh?" He keeps an arm around Riley, making certain the young man was secure.
