Even after Riley dozed off, Will kept reading to him. He hoped the cadence of familiar words formed by a familiar voice would help to set even his unconscious mind at ease. The weight of their pets curled on and around wouldn't hurt either. If Will had to sleep propped up on the pillows, so be it. He wasn't moving until Riley woke again.
