"It would be nice," Cheng agreed softly. How nice would it be to have such peace and tranquility! "I have also learned that humans abhor peace and balance, even if they claim that's what they desire most."

"Any season can be terrifying. For people who are familiar with cold, the heat can be terrifying. Trying to begin crops and harvest them is filled with the fear that nothing will flourish, or everything will rot. I do not think it is a particular season or temperature that is more frightening over the others, but what people don't understand."

And that's a big thing for Cheng to admit. "There are still many things I don't understand. And I've found that my own fear of things I don't understand has caused too much pain and devastation to the people around me. I hope I can lessen that, learn from my mistakes."
