Chengling is relieved to get a message from his Shifu right away. He'd been admittedly a little afraid when he arrived here without them, not knowing if he was alone or not. He's quick to scurry to the address and being himself he bursts in the door breathlessly.

"Shifu!?"

What else is he to do, stuck in bed until he recovers strength and energy? If not in bed itself, than on the couch in the common area of the apartment. Which is where he's moved to by the time his disciple comes barging in - which earns the boy a raised brow.

"Where are your manners?" Hello child, he's actually rather glad to see you!

"Sorry, Shifu!" Chengling says quickly and adds a bow but then he's quick to close the rest of the distance and just hugs the man, of course.

"I didn't know if you were here or not!"

Zishu sighs a little, but relents enough to hug the boy right back, absently tucking some loose hair back over a shoulder.

"Lao Wen and I have been here for some months. A few others joined us soon after. You are not to cause Xie trouble, he has left the ways of the Scorpion behind." And become a friend.

Chengling doesn't care about the sigh at all and his arms tighten some before he lets go and stands up.

He looks confused at the other's instructions. "You believe him?

Chengling earns the sharp look, for all that Zishu remains seated.

"I wouldn't tell you to leave him be if I didn't. He's had too many chances to return to how he was, and hasn't."

Chengling isn't the type to argue but he also looks still confused and troubled by this information.

"If you say so it must be true, Shifu. Where is everyone else?"

"Silly idiot," he murmurs, shaking his head a little. "I do say so."

As for where everyone else is? "Lao Wen is getting food. Wu Xi and Baiyuan have gone to their home for the day. Xie and Beauty Ghost are doubtlessly in their home as well."

Chengling nods and he's eager to see Wen Kexing as well! The list of people from home seems small but at least his Shifu is here and he looks... well enough!

"Can I get you some tea?"

Only a few, in truth. And Chengling needs to open his eyes a bit, if he thinks Zishu looks well!

"The equipment here is strange from what we're used to. Try not to burn yourself until Lao Wen can get back and teach you how to use them."

"I can show him." Look, there's Kexing making a fashionably late entrance. He can't help but smile as he lays eyes on Chengling. "I just bought some fresh tea."

Chengling's expression brightens again and he immediately gets up to run over to Kexing and throw his arms around him in a tight hug.

He'll come back to tea in a moment, of course!

Of course, Kexing hugs him in turn, then pats his head gently. A warm smile curls his lips now that their family is almost whole again.

"Come, A-Xu will get cross with us for taking too long with his tea."

Zishu grins when he hears his soulmate's voice and happily leans back against the couch as he waits.

Cross with them for taking too long? He can do that!

"I might shrivel up from thirst," he helpfully adds.

"Don't say that, shifu!!" Chengling says, eyes widening as he lets Kexing go and then pulls him by the wrist toward the kitchen.

He's eager to learn how to make tea to serve both of them here!
