[OPEN] Adjusting
⌛ Who: Pannacotta Fugo & You
⌛ What: Arrival and Exploration
⌛ When: Beginning parts of February
⌛ Where: Tokyo and Yokohama
⌛ Warnings: Nothing for now
entering the streets;
[ All the information that had been dumped on him upon arrival and to this point keep running through his head, coming up with his own thoughts and theories about what to do and where to go from here. For now, though, he tries to shake his head a bit free of all that nonsense and look around to take in the sights and sounds and people. If he's going to be stuck here for a while, he wants to be at least familiar enough with his surroundings and be able to have a fair grasp on things so he can eliminate some factors that might take him by surprise.
It was strange. This place had familiar types of things he'd seen in books, but nothing was quite... right. The setting didn't quite fit together like it was supposed to in his mind, but what's more surprising to him is that there are such similarities. He'll have to look further into that, as well.
The first place he starts to wander is the residential area, casually looking people over, but not actually greeting anyone. It's not that he's intentionally being unfriendly, but he has no reason to actually approach anyone at this point, so if it seems like he's sizing you up? He probably is. Finally, he'll speak at what is probably an unnerving amount of time if the silence wasn't already broken. ]
How long have you been in this place?
taking the darker path;
[ Maybe it seems strange that someone this young would be purposefully treading off the beaten path of the front of the arts and theatrics of the main area of Yoshiwara, but this is exactly what Fugo is doing. He glances back and forth to make sure no one is actively watching as he slips into the more shadowy side of the district.
He doesn't care if he's caught, but it's a lot less of a hassle having someone try to stop him before he slipped into this area. When he decided he wanted to scope everything out, he meant everything. The good, the bad and the ugly. Also, it was usually places like these that had a lot of information, in general. So, it would be a good idea to make himself familiar and friendly with those here. And to make note of who or what to watch out for, if there was such a cause.
Feel free to try to call him out on his youth being there, but it also seems like he's oddly good at navigating an area such as this. Hm. ]
trying on something new;
[ This shop didn't quite have what he was looking for, but he was guessing for the time being, he'd have to figure out some temporary wears. It's not like he could wear the same outfit day in and day out. Or, well, he could, but it wouldn't be a good idea. With a sigh, he picks up something from the rack. ]
I don't even know where to begin.
[ Depending on who you asked, one could probably wonder what kind of fashion taste he even had. That's a good question and one that no one can probably answer properly. Not even him. This might take a while as he has to debate between things. It's not that he's picky or overly concerned about fashion, but... He can only choose three sets out. He'd be stuck with that for a while. ]
on the scene;
[ When Fugo had heard about the crime rate being so high in Yokohama, he knew he had to pay it a visit... to see what type of crimes this place was suffering and why. He wondered if things needed a change, but he wasn't sure he was the one for the task at hand. Nor was he even sure he would get involved, unless strange circumstances happened, that he highly doubted would. Sure, he'd changed and was still going through his own personal evolution, but that didn't mean he was about to step up to anything like this.
But he certainly wouldn't bow down to anyone, if it was some type of crime syndicate on the scene. Especially not if... No. He's going to stop himself from overthinking things without details. He needs to before he gets in too deep.
As he's making his way through the city, a small tickles his nose. That scent... the food... it was Familiar. His eyes began darting around in surprise. He didn't expect to smell anything remotely close to home here. So, he's being lured in the direction of the scent. ]
Is that really...? [ But he lets his words trail off quietly ]

trying something new
nothing fussy and all nondescript, if he were honest. seeing fugo, though, that's the real surprise here and he takes it with an even stride. calm, composed, and welcoming. one step forward to see what kind of pace fugo would take. ]
I would suggest starting with a piece that you like and go from there.

even so, given the precarious position of their newfound... status? with one another, it made him feel something strange. as per the usual, he was overthinking things instead of just focusing on just one thing. sure, he'd become more focused, something in him had changed with his determination, but some things would always remain about a person.
after looking at giorno, he spots something out of the corner of his eye and pulls it off of the rack. it's blaze orange with sparkles all over it. ]
So you think this would look good on me?
[ he's joking. or, trying to, because at the end of the day, he's still a kid deep inside and has his moments. ]
entering the streets
It started when he was walking about the streets, as usual, trying to introduce himself and get the locals to know him. So they can stop staring at him like he was a monster. It's been a moon! The ones he's seen multiple times ought to be used to him by now, right??
It goes okay, some seem to be warming up to him, some don't. Needless to say, he was getting pretty tired of it, so he decided to take a break. Sitting on a bench away from the crowd, he decided to people-watch for a little while. But one character in particular caught his eye. A man...wearing very strange clothes.
...like he was the one to talk, wearing some oddly gaudy clothes that were quite honestly not seasonally appropriate.
He wasn't a fan of the way the man stared at him. Did he also find the broken horned monster to be strange?
A sigh.
Genbu does his best to ignore him. Usually he'd walk right up to him and try to initiate a conversation, but he was rather tired right now. He managed to ignore him for a few minutes...until suddenly the stranger was way closer to him now.]
GAH!! Huh? What's super long? What are ya tryin' to proposition me after just meeting me!?
no subject
There is a bit of surprise, though, when Genbu has such a strong reaction to him. He doesn't let it show on his face, but his body did tense of from such a sharp reaction. But those words... They do annoy him, if only slightly. There's a small sigh before he speaks. ]
I was not. I'm merely trying to figure out how long this has been happening to people.
[ He doesn't feel like he needs to explain his actions, but it makes things a lot easier, in the long wrong. And would probably make this conversations less of a hassle if he does. ]
no subject
Oooh! So ya askin' me how long I was here then? Hmm...Gods, I never really counted how much time passed. But I'd say maybe about a moon?
no subject
About a moon?
[ Hm. He wonders if time passes the same as back home, if the moon marked about the same amount of time. It didn't exactly seem plausible considering the likelihood of having a planet of equivalent structure and distance from a sun that was exactly the same distance from the sun and having a moon that behaves in the same manner?
Ah, but he shoves that line of thought aside since it didn't quite matter. ]
I see. I'm assuming that's not an extensive amount of time?
no subject
[Genbu grew curious about this mysterious figure. He studies him for a bit. Quite an interesting....fashion, this guy has.]
You a refugee?
no subject
[ Months held different amount of days, inconsistent, but it's close enough. At the comment, he nods to him. ]
I am.
no subject
W-well don't fret too much! It's scary bein' thrown into a random world like this, but it's not so bad here! [The concerned Raen stands up, revealing his gargantuan height compared to the smaller, oddly clothed hyur. He gives the other a cheerful grin.]
And I'm here for ya if ya need anythin'! Name's Genbu! [Well. He seems to have cheered up quite a bit from his wary self earlier.] but ya can call me anythin' ya like, like Gen, or Genny! Or big bro or...a-anyroad! What should I call ya?
streets
Um - about two and a half months, more or less...?
no subject
Hm, I see... [ He mulls over that for a moment. ] Do you know anyone that's been here longer?
no subject
[That seems like what they are, though Gershom isn't sure what the official term is.]
no subject
[ He does agree that there seems to be differences and perhaps Native vs. Visitors is the best term, even if it might not be quite proper, considering everyone is escaping time lapses, more or less. ]
It'll be curious to see how long this last.
no subject
You want to go home as soon as possible, nu...?
no subject
I would, but I would also prefer to have answers so things do not repeat themselves.
no subject
[Not that he had. Really noticed, in his own case.]
no subject
[ It could be a problem if time unraveled itself completely across all dimensions. ]
no subject
[He hadn't even thought about that.]
no subject
Well, I'd suggest something solid, first. White hair's easy to match to, but you also don't want to add too much white into your outfit. Makes you seem wider than your are. Based on your arms and shoulder width, it would just make you look like some kind of white berry. Bzzt, right out.
[Kokoro walked around him, tilting her head this way and that as she continued to
judge his fashion sensegive him her opinion.Forever judged by pink-haired girls, poor guy.She hummed thoughtfully.]
Green's out, because then you're going to look like Christmas, unless it's a softer green like a light seagreen. Nothing dark green, though. You could probably do patterns really well, though. Black's OK for everyone, but you'll want to block it up with color so maybe that shirt over there?
no subject
He can't get a word in edgewise as she grills him about what type of clothing he should wear and he just stares, initially. Maybe he should just respond with something simple like "thanks" or "okay" or even give a vague sense of response to what she actually said. Instead, he's going to go with: ]
You have a lot of opinions about fashion, don't you?
no subject
[Not that she's into the idea of actually going back to finish her exams, but...]
Well, whenever we go back. [She blows her bangs up with a sigh, rather than sigh in his direction.] Why wouldn't I have opinions on how things look?
no subject
[ If not very useful in the scheme of things, might be his opinion, but he'll refrain from speaking about that as of now. No reason to stir anything up in this setting. ]
Not everyone cares about that type of thing, but it makes sense with your choice of career.
no subject
Anyway, my parents are both photographers. It's sort of in my blood, you know?
[Kokoro shrugs, as if this is a normal thing to say.]
You're Western, right? I'm Kokoro Amamiya. It's nice to meet you, and if you'd like to learn how to put something together that isn't eye-searing, I'm your girl.
[This guy seemed like... he could have someone put in a bit of work on him. Eesh.]
on the scene
Caesar doesn't care about it one bit, but he wanted to see the extent of their influence with his own two eyes. It's easier to maneuver around these problematic scenes when you know who controls what, how volatile they are, who or what they're after-it's better to know than to be caught offguard in a new area. He's sort of flitting through the city, taking in the normal and sketchy sights alike when-
Well, this rando appears.
And he's used to thrall of this place and its attempts to lure him away from his own tasks. This kid though-]
Is it really what?
no subject
When he hears that question, he glances at Caesar out of the corner of his eye, sizing him up without a word for a moment. ]
Italian food. It smelled like Italian food.
[ This probably isn't the answer that Caesar is expecting to get, but it sure is what he's going to receive. It's just... Fugo didn't expect it. And he's wondering if it's even remotely close to what it's like back home. ]
no subject
[Sorry Jikan. He's not about to let this kid end up stuck in the thrall of whatever he thinks he's smelling. Italian food is non-existent. Rare. Nothing comparable exists and he won't flatter the place by pretending otherwise. Look, he's not a chef, but he makes better pasta than any of these fools.]
entering the streets
"Huh? Are you talking to me?"
no subject
The response comes out simple. No reason to dance around the topic. It isn't the first person he's asked, nor will it be the last. But he wants to gather as much intel about this place as he can.

"That's a fair point. It seems like nothing is going to be straightforward with any of this. But time is a very complicated matter anyway."
sorry work ate me
