September Catch-All
⌛ Who: Zhou Zishu and various + Open for random encounters
⌛ What: Moving, sparring, eating
⌛ When: September
⌛ Where: All over
⌛ Warnings: None to start other than violence of the sparring kind
Moving
Zhou Zishu had received a message the week before, informing him of the house now in his name, and kept staring at it with amazed suspicion, but he has to see it for himself. A house, that is being redesigned to his personal specifications. Remodeled. Each day he goes to watch, and issue orders of subtle changes. Each one is answered.
And he watches the Four Seasons Manor return to life before his eyes. Even the trees are being regrown - if in a smaller area. That's fine. There are a few changes he has them make to what his heart's memory has tucked away - modern conveniences they've grown used to. And more rooms for sleeping. Even the defensive mechanisms are returned...though a subtle check tells him they're more for show. They can fix that. They have in the past repaired the defenses.
Eventually he's satisfied with what the spells have done, and he puts out the call to summon those he expects will want at least a room when they visit or stay over. And waits at the entrance hall, some paints and brushes arrayed around as he gets started on a mural.
...But it already feels like home.
Sparring - for Xiao Xingchen (others may watch or join in)
Zishu hasn't forgotten Xingchen's hope for a spar when he'd regained his strength and health, and in the month since the nails were finally removed, he's been working on regaining said strength and stamina. He still has a ways to go, but he feels confident he can give his sweet A-Chen a good workout. And now they have the training yard in the new Four Seasons to use!
He waits for his opponent to arrive, face lifted to the sky and eyes closed as he relaxes, enjoying the breeze and rustle of leaves nearby. His smile warms when he senses Xingchen's arrival, and he turns to face him, eyes blinking contentedly open. "Are you ready, A-Chen?" His hand isn't on his sword's hilt, but that doesn't mean he's not prepared to start immediately.
First real meal - Xingchen but also anyone in new Four Seasons Manor is welcome
He'd asked one thing from Xingchen. A meal, for when he could taste again. Sure, it hadn't come as early as he'd hoped, but he hadn't really counted on being so exhausted as his meridians were nit back together. He knew it would come, regardless, and so while he usually stays clear of the kitchen, he wanders in when he knows Xingchen is hard at work.
He just won't get in the way - he wants to watch the other work. Quiet company is always welcome...and Xingchen is beautiful and graceful in everything he does.
Training - Chengling
Of course a return to health also means a return to running his disciple ragged with training. He settles into a chair, sipping tea, and watches the boy work hard. Chengling always does, of course. The boy puts his heart and soul into every thing he does. But as Master, Zishu has to be extra strict and demanding - because it's part of how this particular youth learns best. What motivates him the most.
So he scoffs at an imagined mistake. "Again, Little Idiot. Another hundred cycles."
Drinking - Beiyuan but also open to anyone who wants a drinking buddy
One of the many things he's missed since his senses left him one by one has been the taste of alcohol. Wine, specifically. And so he wanders the bars, remembering where he's been in the past with friends. He'll either settle in for a nice evening of drinking, or grab some bottles and head home or to a park to enjoy them. Anyone who joins him will, naturally, be invited to enjoy some of the array he's bought.

One of the many things he's missed since his senses left him one by one has been the taste of alcohol. Wine, specifically. Anyone who joins him will, naturally, be invited to enjoy some of the array he's bought.

Drinking, of course.
Most times he talked himself out of it.
The need to stretch his legs, however, was screaming at him loud enough that he actually listened and went out for a walk. Either he had been asleep longer than he thought, or he had slept harder than he ever had but the brain fog took a good twenty minute walk to finally dissipate.
And who did he run into?
Ah, yes. His absolutely favorite drinking buddy of all time.
"Have enough for two?" he asks before making himself at home beside his friend. Of course, he knew there was enough for two. There was probably enough for four.
Of course~
Zishu grins when his friend settles in beside him and immediately pours him a cup, shifting one of the bottles over. "If there isn't, we'll just order more."
Good mood? Definitely!
Excellent company? Doubly-so~
no subject
It's a relief, too. Seeing his friend exhausted and in pain was not something he enjoyed. "How is everything?" 'Everything' is said in a way that implies - Kexing and everything.
no subject
His grin grows and he lifts a cup to Beiyuan in silent salute. "And I'm free to leave the tiny rooms for more than five seconds at a time without scaring people."
Zishu tips the cup back, draining it and getting the joy of enjoying the flavor of the wine as it goes down. The question has him raise a brow and pour a second cup as he thinks of the best way to answer.
One word would technically answer it. In the end, he gives his dear friend an amused look. "I have all my senses back and Lao Wen is no longer afraid to lose me so quick. How do you think everything is?"
no subject
Beiyuan's brows lift and he smiles knowingly, "I think you've probably been a busy pair," he chuckles and finishes his cup before reaching to refill it again.
"Does," he begins, a little cheekiness edging his voice, "this mean you can come out to play more often then? Keep an old friend company on these lonely nights?"
no subject
As for that question, he smirks against his cup. "Is Wu Xi not enough for you? Sad," he feigns a sigh. "If you are in need of more entertainment, I will just have to do my best. One wouldn't want an old man to suffer loneliness."
no subject
Lifting his refilled cup his brows rise as well. Wu Xi was more than he could handle, if he were being honest but where was the fun in bypassing some good playful flirting?
“Mm…yes. That would be a tragedy. You mustn’t allow me to go down that road again.” He swallowed back his drink and leaned in closer, “You will take care of me, won’t you? Honest?”
no subject
Zishu tips his cup back, emptying it as he listens to the sad story, then leans forward to close the distance as well, eyes bright with fond mirth.
"I would never let you suffer like that." ...Well. Honestly, he wouldn't. But he also knows first hand how vigorous Wu Xi is in bed. So he's not worried.
That doesn't mean he can't lean in that last little bit to try and steal a playful little kiss before grinning and pulling back. Shame? What is that?
no subject
Still, flirting with Zishu has and always would be one of the things Beiyuan enjoyed most about life.
The declaration leaves him feigning a soft thankfulness that shifts into something more playful when Zishu dares to close that little bit of distance left between them. The kiss is quick, sweet, and much too short.
“You cannot tease a parched man with just a sip, Zishu!” He huffs, petulant but trying not to laugh at the same time.
no subject
Even with all the nagging Beiyuan's wife does.
He laughs openly at the petulant huff. "Why not? It worked nicely with Lao Wen." His shoulders continue to shake as his audible laughter tapers off. He feigns a sigh and shakes his head. "I guess I can take pity on you. Your wife did save my life, after all."
So he leans in again - but this time, the kiss is far more bold. Deep enough to hint and offer more, ending in a more playful nip as he slowly starts to pull back.
no subject
The petulance continues at least up until Zishu sighs. He laughs softly and stays out because a kiss is sometimes better than just the alcohol that comes with some of them.
“Yes. You owe me for my wife’s work,” he murmurs and meets that kiss. It’s more than the first and Beiyuan sets his cup down in favor of drawing Zishu in for a deeper kiss. Licking out he tastes the alcohol but mostly the naturally sweet taste of his friend.
A warm pleased sound is breathes against the other mans lips and he nips him again as he starts to pull back just to see what will happen next.
no subject
He chuckles as he's pulled closer, but willingly settles against his friend. The answering nip makes him grin before he leans in to nuzzle their lips together again, this one more playful.
"Do you know what physical effects this world's magic has chosen for me?"
no subject
“And what is that?” He asks warmly, brushing his nose against Zishu’s.
no subject
Even wine doesn't matter when playing like this.
no subject
He goes a little cross eyed for a moment thanks to that little lick but he recovers with a smirk, “You are most definitely a Fox,” he murmurs and drags Zishu fully into his lap as that kiss is enjoyed.
It lingers and he leans into it wanting more of it and knowing that neither one of them has to worry because their hearts belong elsewhere. Though, a part of is admittedly connected to this man as well.
no subject
No. Their hearts and souls are thoroughly claimed by other people. But they are still bound in other ways, still a good strong connection.
Which only helps the enjoyment of these kisses!
But he is a fox. A wicked, mischievous, playful fox who knows just what he wants and isn't afraid to tease until he gets it. So while he makes himself perfectly comfortable in his friend's lap, not hiding his body's interest in their proximity or play, he pulls back from the kiss again. Just enough for their lips to keep brushing together as he speaks.
"Is that all you want from me, Beiyuan?"
no subject
Otherwise, he is one hundred percent, all encompassingly in love with Wu Xi. The fact that Zishu feels the same way about his own is the only reason he even teases at having this level of closeness with Zishu. Neither will stray, neither will suddenly have feelings they're not allowed.
It's actually quite beautiful.
But a fox knows a fox when they see them and instantly Beiyuan is torn between his amusement and something else. Zishu is a comfortable weight in his lap; warm and a little wriggly. Clearly he wants to play with all of the mischief written over his face. And then everything below.
His lips turn up in a smile and he smooths his hands over the gentle curves of the other mans hips, around to his backside to pull him closer to him, "This smells a lot like trouble," he chuckles softly and nibbles along the others bottom lip, his chin and briefly at his jaw, "You're well aware this is not all I want."
no subject
"What rules should I be aware of?" He only knows Beiyuan and Wu Xi have such rules, not what they are.
But he won't overstep them. They are too important to him to do that. To risk their friendship, and to put strife between them.
no subject
"Zishu," he calls, sable scurrying ahead to greet Zishu and sniff out treats.
no subject
Zishu straightens as Wu Xi comes further inside. "There is room for you to live here, if you wish. I made sure the spells crafting the house to my specifications included plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms."
no subject
"Have you spoken to Beiyuan about that possibility?" he asks and then...
"You know the sort of menagerie that follows me, though. It might not be best."
He does still remember the early days after meeting Beiyuan, the sight of his critters terrifying people.
Drinking
And drinking with someone tends to bring up good information.
"You started without me?" Huaisang teases as he joins the other at a nice bar, bowing politely.
Training
He knew she didn't feel up to much and so he tended to be scarce when she was awake.
But, all the same, now added to everything else he did is training. If nothing else he is glad that Zishu is doing well again! He had been worried.
Still upon being told he'd made a mistake he tried to figure out what it was, looking frustrated. "What did I do?" he questions before starting once more, ever the diligent disciple.
Wildcard - so sue me.
In any case, he's gone outside after the sun has set to look up at the sky, laying on a patch of grass, fingers brushing over some blades without trying to pull them up.
He's unaware if anyone comes upon him, his brows knit with thoughts even though looking at the night sky should be a relxing activity.
Sparring~
"I am." he puts space between them, leaping back gracefully as he finally brings out his Shuanghua. The sword shines - the frost flower that never melts even during the hottest days of summer.
Meal!
Vegetables are steaming, meat is cooking, bread is baking...
Xingchen had promised his friend a feast and he is delivering! When Zishu joins him in the kitchen, he sneaks him a few bites of the delicious fare. Who is he to deny him?
"Don't stay in here too long, A-Shu. It's hot."
no subject
So, for the moment, she's sitting on the floor and nibbling on some snack she'd managed to find, watching Zhou Zishu. She knew that he'd know she was there. It wasn't like she was trying to be quiet about it.
