⌛ Who: Lan Xichen, Jiang Cheng, Jiang Yanli
⌛ What: Paranoid cultivators and healing
⌛ When: Just after this
⌛ Where: Hospital
⌛ Warnings: Other than usual canon warnings, nothing should pop up but will edit if they do!
As he'd promised, Xichen doesn't take long before arriving at the hospital where Jiang Yanli has been taken for healing. Outwardly he appears just as calm and composed as ever as he sweeps through the halls to the room he'd been told to meet Jiang Cheng at. But internally he's thinking of the various things to check for first. All things he'd wished he'd had the chance to the first time around, but it had been too late for the poor woman by the time he'd even have had the chance to look at her.
Now he does, and he resolves to do his very best to see her healing as swiftly and thoroughly as possible. She deserves no less. Finding the door, he knocks lightly.
"Lady Jiang?"

"Lady Jiang?"

Jiang Cheng had not left the room and had, somehow, managed not to go too crazy while they waited. Reaching over she gives his hand a firm squeeze before the knock comes to the door. She gives her baby brother a warm smile before looking towards the door.
"You may enter, Zewu-Jun."
Even if she hadn't of said the words, she's sure her brother would've been up to answer the door in an instant.

He still had so much to atone for. So many thought he should be left off the hook (at least for this instance.) It only riddled him with more guilt. There was so much more he could and should have done, yet he did not. If people wanted him to be different, they were simply going to have to accept his efforts to reconcile his own sins, regardless of whether they thought they were transgressions or not.
Cheng heard the knock, then Yanli's answer and he nodded to her, hoping it was reassuring. Then he stood and turned towards the door, habitually prepared to greet his colleague.

Xichen opens the door and steps through at the voice he hasn't heard in some time, and lets it close just as softly behind him. He smiles gently at the siblings, moving to properly greet the other sect leader as equals - just because their sects aren't here doesn't mean they can't be respectful. And he turns just as respectfully to Yanli.
"Thank you for letting me come."

Yanli gives her brother a soft smile at the reassuring nod and watches him for a moment before those eyes turn to the elder of the Twin Jades. Despite being bed ridden she gives him a slight bow. Nothing that would aggravate her back, but still enough to be respectful.
"Of course, Zewu-Jun. Thank you for coming on such short notice." After all, she's sure he has more to worry over than coming to check on her.

And even though he was more or less present to assist, he takes a step aside from the bed and then moves around to the opposite side, looking back to Yanli in the process. He's anxious to know how things are going and hopes there's no permanent damage.

"It is no trouble," he sooths. He doesn't worry quite so fiercely over Mingjue's health these days, as Baxia is kept quiet and is less able to sink more malevolent energy into his beloved's qi.
"Do you know what the healers here have done so far?"

When he does take her wrist, her pulse isn't as strong as it could be, but that was probably to be expected. That wasn't to say that she couldn't get better, especially with the help of Zewu-Jun. Her brother being there helped, as well.
"So far they have cleaned the wound, placed a numbing salve over it, and then bandaged it." If they had done anything else for it, she wasn't aware of it.

He sags, relief looking more like dispair than what he was feeling. Maybe he needed to go to a shrine and burn some incense. To whom, he had no clue. But he offers an encouraging smile (it was more a grimace) and squeezes her hand.
"You'll be out, running around and screaming after A-Ling before you know it," he murmurs softly, trying to kill time as he waits for Xichen's diagnosis.

Xichen pulls away to reach into the qiankun pouch he'd brought with it's medicines - his Liebing is in there too, but he doesn't yet reach for it. He sets out a few specific little jars and shakes out one pill before offering it to her. "This will help stabilize your core." Which is what he's most concerned about. The other two are set on the small table beside the bed.
"If they have done for your wound what I have seen them do for others, it will heal well. When I leave I will ask them to call me when they're going to change the dressing." So he can add powdered medicine to speed the process up.
Then he reaches into the pouch again and pulls out a couple incense sticks, sticks them into a holder he'd also brought, and lights them, setting them on the table. The scent is one anyone from their world would know - designed to sooth the mind and spirit and encourage healing.

Yanli takes the offered pill and takes it with a cup of water. Though, she gives Xichen a soft smile," Thank you, Zewu-Jun. I appreciate that." Anything that would have her out of their medical center and with her family.
"Have you been well here?" After all, her brother had mentioned Sect Leader Nie being there. She can focus on the little things, while healing.

Which meant, now, he had a purpose here to provide some sort of home so they could visit. Not some cramped dorm room where there were fights about whose dirty laundry was on the floor. Thoughts drifted on how that could be arranged when Yanli's mundane question came about. His eyes flicked up to look at Xichen now, wondering if he too had those odd scales like he had seen on Nie Mingjue in the bathhouse.

As for her question, feeling more than one set of eyes on him as they wait for his answer, he lets his smile grow a little as his gaze drops. He knows well the use of distraction. And maybe some of his hair slips a little out of place, to allow a flash of black and silver scales along his neck to glitter in the light.
"Yes, I have been well. My brother is here, as well as Nie Mingjue, among others. I admit most of my focus since arriving has been on those two." But now that Mingjue has healed so well, he can start to branch out and speak with those he really should be getting to know.
