Once the creature was rooted in place, he tossed the dead creature towards it. He watched the monsters eyes immediately get drawn to the free food just out of reach.
It roared as it tried to get at the carcass, clearly it was hungry. With it so thoroughly distracted with tried to break free of the roots, Kaeya dashed forward and shoved his sword into the monster's mouth. As expected, he felt the heat for a brief moment as the monster did try to still defend itself and burn Kaeya at the same time, but an ice shield had been formed on his other arm to protect the captain as the blade slid into the roof of the monster's mouth.
Kaeya held fast as the monster thrashed for a moment, the fire licking just around shield and threatening to catch his clothes on fire before it finally stopped moving altogether.]

[He pulled the sword free and let it disperse in golden sparks. He patted down his slightly charred sleeves, but he appeared to only be slightly singed.]
