In a Sea of Dreams [Closed]
⌛ Who: Allen & Dohalim
⌛ What: The two of them meet up and spend a day on Allen'sGiant fuck-off Ark for a not!date.
⌛ When: December 1st
⌛ Where: RPGHouse, then inside the Ark.
⌛ Warnings: Nothing yet. Will update as needed.
[ The White Ark came with a lot of complicated feelings and Allen was still a bit nervous because okay, sure. It was vast and essentially an empty city, so hopefully Dohalim wouldn't get bored walking around it for a couple of hours.
Just him and this man he'd gotten quite close to.
Allen also knew that for the first time, he was going to be playing the piano with Nea's melody and it wouldn't be so much to control the ark but just to play the tune for someone else. Noone else who didn't come from his home would never have heard it, and he didn't know why it made him so apprehensive. Maybe it was just because of the weight behind these things, trying to associate something good to something so negative.
He stepped outside the front door of their place, wearing the outfit he'd been wearing when he first arrived, minus the coat. Which meant the dress shirt, vest, tie, neatly kept pants and boots. His hair tied back neatly with a nice red hair tie. ]
...Maybe I am a little early...
[ Allen sighed, taking a few steps forwards and exhaling a soft breath. This was fine. He was thinking too much about all of this. ]

said mindframe could be the reason why Dohalim was running a minute or five late, as he had been busy with their lunches. for all that he's useless doing most things for himself (honestly, after the last seven years of having others do mostly everything for him, it's not surprising), preparing food is a bit of a surprise. perhaps it has something to do with the art form behind creating meals. one could see food simply as that, but culinary art and delights don't go unnoticed when Dohalim's involved.
he just hopes that Allen enjoys these bento boxes he'd discovered and learned to create. several boxes with rice and meats, and salads and other little snacks he took care to pack up for the both of them; he isn't sure how long they'd be there, so he hopes that it'll be enough to tide them over.
so, with everything packed up delicately in a bag so they don't spill, Dohalim finally meets up with Allen with a smile on his face]
Excuse my tardiness.

Hell. The last time he'd done so had been during that Sakumi Festival and that was it.
There were no akuma coming at him from the ground while speaking of the 14th's presence, no souls needing to be saved here. It was making him feel a little restless to say the least, the thought alone having Allen curling and uncurling his fingers and rolling his wrist in a small circle. Maybe he should ask someone to spar with him sometime so it didn't feel like he was getting too rusty or anything.
Just as the thought crossed his mind, he heard a voice speak up and Allen turned to look over at Dohalim with a smile of his own. ]
It's fine, really. I got a bit caught up in my thoughts, didn't realize how much time's passed.
[ Allen looked around for a second, as if assessing something before nodding his head. This was indeed a very open spot here but now that he was thinking about it? ]
Are you ready, then? I figured I could summon the gate here, but it is a little... big. Think the others will mind...?
no subject
[just how big is this supposed gate? surely, it couldn't be that sizeable. but then again, Dohalim has no idea about this place he's about to head into, other than that it's safe (it'd be foolish of him to think that Allen is about to lead him somewhere dangerous at this point)]
Just how big is it? Just as long as it doesn't damage the property around here, I do not mind.
no subject
Well... it's... really not that small. You'll see in a second.
[ He closed his eyes, reciting the tune in his head quietly. That's when it happened, a bunch of glowing rings appeared below him with the number 1 at it's center. A moment or so after, a very distinct, glowing white gate appeared from where the number had been on the ground, large enough that they seemed quite small in comparison and the very same - 1 - on the one part of the gate itself.
He then held his hand out to Dohalim, smiling softly. ]
Here it is. Shall we get going?
no subject
Interesting.
[he breathes the word out softly under his breath, before glancing down at Allen's hand. the soft smile hadn't left his face; it's a little wider and brighter now, as he takes it]
Please, lead the way.
no subject
There was no way Allen could miss that smile at all whatsoever, easing a little of his earlier nervousness as he lead the older man through the softly glowing gate. Once they did emerge onto the other side, the sky was bright and blue as they stood in the middle of what looked to be quite a vast city with a large tower standing at it's center. The buildings around them all resembling something of a sea-side town with the style of architecture and the cobbled pathways that wove inbetween them. ]
This... it's known as the Ark. A place that if I so wished... could open each and every one of these doors to a place I know of to access at any time.
[ He looked to one of the doors nearest them, then to the door that stayed ajar now that they'd seemingly come through it. ]
There's a tower at the center that we can go to and then have lunch there, I think.
no subject
This is incredible. I can see why you've kept it a secret.
[Dohalim's sure he would want to keep this a secret if he had this sort of ability. the pristine whites of the structures against the backdrop of clear blue sky should be as blinding as a sunny day, but... oddly, it's not]
Lead the way, Allen. I'm interested to see more of this place.
no subject
It is, yeah. [ He used his free hand to rub at the back of his neck briefly. ] There's a couple of reasons why I keep it a secret, but this is one of the better ones.
[ With that said, he started forwards on the path before them with quiet steps. ]
There's quite a lot of it even I haven't explored yet... and... uh... if me holding your hand bothers you any, please tell me and i'll let go.
no subject
We have been intimate with each other how many times? If I thought holding your hand was uncomfortable, it would be hypocritical, don't you think?
[of course, he says this out loud with no filter to stop himself from saying such things, but it's true. a simple hand holding, compared to the other things the both of them had done, just seems like the right thing to do, at this point]
no subject
He was smiling contently, though hearing the older man say something so openly in that way was enough to have a blush spreading to the tips of his ears as he almost tripped on the path before them. ]
I-- Yeah... maybe.. but you can't just go saying things like that!
[ A tiny bit of fluster that he can't help blurting out those words without a second thought. He still hasn't - and wouldn't - let go of Dohalim's hand though. ]
...Sorry. This is just... I overthink everything and I don't want to do something you don't like. That's all...
no subject
[his voice is light and teasing; oh, but Allen makes it too easy, sometimes. with a soft chuckle, Dohalim shakes his head]
As an overthinker myself [no point in denying it], I understand completely. However, you would have been informed rather quickly if you did something I didn't like.
no subject
[ He gave a vague gesture of his hand, expression scrunched up as he tried to find the right words. Being flustered was awful and he felt like an idiot. Especially in front of someone so eloquent as Dohalim. ]
You could have just maybe said the last part instead of bringing up the other stuff. Not that I at all minded each of the times we did something intimate b-but that is NOT important!
[ Way to go, Walker. Sticking foot in mouth is definitely not what he'd wanted.
Going to focus on the rest of the older man's words instead. What a wonderful idea here. Seemed so entirely great in the long run. ]
I'm glad to hear that. I can relax a bit, knowing that.
[ Allen nodded his head, tilting his head up towards the beautiful sky above that bore but a few 'clouds' which did a lot to create the illusion that it was an actual, real city within the ark here. ]
I think my only regret about the ark here, is that it just feels so empty without more to it and yet... the silence and the peace of mind I get by coming here is really next to none.
no subject
My apologies, but you do make it incredibly easy with a reaction such as that.
[surprise Allen, as eloquent as Dohalim is, he's kind of also a giant jerk when he wants to be]
As for the emptiness... I find it's rather cathartic to have a place like this to yourself. I feel like it really could be a meditative experience. But, as someone who appreciates a moment to themselves, that may just be me talking.
no subject
I... kind of did, huh?
[ Surprisingly Allen didn't find that as being a jerk as more as someone pointing out that he'd made it too easy for such a thing to happen. Why bother denying it? ]
No.. you're not wrong. I enjoy coming here when things get too much for me, when I want to get away from the world that sometimes turns some pretty harsh eyes on me. Especially lately.
[ Mostly all the Noah talk, which was ironic considering the meaning of this place and who it belonged to before him. A man who still had all intentions of taking over his body, something he still wasn't really going to let happen. ]
no subject
Would you like to talk about it?
[perhaps he could offer the same consolation that Allen offered him, should he want to talk. it's the least he could do after what Allen had done for him]
no subject
He hesitated for a second, though, when asked that question. The Noah business was very complicated as it was, though after everything Dohalim had shared with him during that one night? Allen just nodded as he came to a solid decision. ]
I've never talked to anyone about it who wasn't from home, so I'll try to keep things as... not confusing as I can, okay?
[ Since there was a lot of terms and things the older man would probably not know or be aware of, but this would all certainly help fill the space until they got to the tower. ]
So... to start? I started working for this group called the Black Order, as an Exorcist. It's our job to destroy these beings known as akuma, creatures born of people's grief and it's... sometimes a thankless job and most people don't know our Order even really exists.
[ Allen shook his head but there was a small smile on his face as he spoke, trying to explain without making it too overly complex here. He still was a bit apprehensive but... he wanted to share this. To tell someone of the things that's happened to a small extent. ]
A lot of wonderful people work there, and they're like a family to me. I got close to them... but then it was revealed there was something about me that put me 'in league' with the enemy who preside over the akuma... by no choice of my own. I was essentially labeled a traitor, and while the ones closest to me didn't change their opinion of me?
[ To keep things relatively light, Allen waved his free hand dismissively and laughed softly while smiling softly. ]
Many did believe I was a traitor and that's when the harsh looks and whispers of doubt started, though most of the time I ended up sort of tuning it out. When I couldn't... I came here.
