He isn't sure how Wei Ying talked him into it, but the deed is done. Instead of either of them wearing anything approaching masculine, they are both dressed in feminine attire. Lan Zhan is enveloped in an off-white dress robe complete with lace and white blooms in his hair. He steps out of the dressing room for Wei Ying's approval, his cheeks a bright pink.

"Is this suitable?" he feels rather silly, smoothing his hands over the full skirt. Yes, it does suit him. More than he likes to admit. Yet if Wei Ying approves...

For his part, Wei Wuxian is already dressed in his usual black and red. It was easy for him to decide on something he thought suited him and the event in question. Of course, it was harder for Lan Wangji. Though Wei Wuxian can't help but suck in a breath at the sight of Lan Zhan in the white gown with his cheeks pink.

"It's perfect!"

His Wei Ying is stunning. The red and the black suit him. Lan Zhan, on the other hand, has only worn white and blue all of these years. He forgoes the blue for this outing and stands before his beloved, looking like a spirit.

"As long as you approve..." he murmurs, bashful, "Wei Ying looks breathtaking."

"I almost went with a different color, but I think black and red suit me best." He smiles warmly and reaches out to loop his arm around Lan Zhan's. With his free hand, he hails the shopkeep to let them know they've decided on their attire. Wei Wuxian's done nothing but save in the many months he's been in Nippon, so he pays for their robes without hesitance.

"Everyone at the party will be spellbound by you."

"No, black and red are yours." Lan Zhan states immediately, welcoming Wei Ying into his arms. He is much too busy enjoying the proximity of his soulmate to notice the shopkeeper. However he does take note of Wei Ying's generosity. A Lan doesn't let such matters pass without comment.

"I will repay you." and he thanks his date for the evening with a warm kiss, taking hold of his hand, "All eyes will be on you. No one will spare a glance for me."

"No need for that," Wei Wuxian quips. "I don't mind. Consider it a gift from me to you."
