⌛ Who: Venti, Hypnos, Giovanni, Bloody Mary ⌛ What: Finally made a permanent log for closed top levels. Look at me go. ⌛ When: Various times. ⌛ Where: Various. ⌛ Warnings: Will note in headers as they are needed.
[ He's noticed that there's something going on here. Between the odd behavior he's exhibited and that he's witnessed, it would be impossible not to. And while he's figured out it has something to do with the cranes around, he doesn't really care, and he makes no effort to dodge or hide from them. It's not like it can kill him -- well, probably. He assumes so, at least. That's how it's been so far since he arrived here. He knows the one thing that can kill him, or at least understands how to do so, is Heine. And Heine's made no real effort to do anything more than be an active participant in the violence that occurs between them.
Which is exactly how Giovanni likes it. And he doesn't need one of those cranes around to like it, either. It's just how he is.
He sees Heine right away. He hadn't spoken to him since he arrived here. And he doesn't initially spot whomever Heine is in the company of at the moment. He's opted against his glasses today, so the resemblance between the two of them is far more clear than it is when Giovanni hides his eyes. There's a lift in his voice, pure amusement. He speaks as he approaches. ]
I never thought I'd see the day where my dear big brother wore a suit like that.
[ His eyes dart to the side and oh -- That vampire. ]
[Stupid side effects and spells were just part of the Nippon that Heine had grown accustomed to, but that was entirely one of the reasons why he doesn't attend events like this. Someone like him, who struggles with his sense of self already, can only find such lossses of control unsettling and aggravating.
Considering the news though, he's dragged himself out. He's even dressed himself up in a fine suit, something more suited to Giovanni, in dark colors and a blood red tie. His hair is brushed back, tamed. He looks well put together.
He doesn't have too many friends, so it didn't take too long to track done one of the few friends he has around. They'd just finished the excruciating smalltalk when Giovanni decides to roll up.
Reflexively, Heine bares teeth. He's always prone to snapping at him, just something deep inside him inclined to putting him in his place. Then his brain catches up to what exactly his brother was saying. The look he gives Kuro is very sharp.]
You've been hanging out with my brother?
[He looks back to Giovanni, teeth bared again. He's mad, but that isn't difficult to rouse in him.]
[Kuro himself was a wallflower at parties, so Heine was a welcome oasis in that regard. Heine was one of the few people he could comfortably call friend here, and that meant his company was far more preferable to strangers trying to make smalltalk or ask deep, uncomfortable questions about the past, future or their hopes and dreams as people tended to do around this time of year, even without the whole reset looming over their heads.
Suffice to say, he'd rather not think too hard about that topic, for his own stress levels.
Not that Giovanni approaching them is helping that. Kuro startles, shoulders twitching and ears folding back. Truthfully, he'd intended to tell Heine he'd run into Giovanni eventually, it's just explaining it.... and everything that happened--
Well, he certainly didn't feel up to the task.]
Not.... purposely. We've bumped into each other.
['bumped into each other' is certainly the understatement of the century, here. Kuro seems to shrink in on himself further, reaching up to fiddle with his non-existent hoodie and instead letting his fingers fall to his already messy tie.]
We uh... had a run in, back in October.
[He can't help but glance from Heine to Gio, taking in the very clear resemblance now that they're side by side. The same eyes, even the same facial shape... it felt strange, seeing them together.]
[ While Heine is baring his teeth, Giovanni is simply smiling. He had both expected Heine to react like that, and hoped that he would. His brother never fails to give him exactly what he wants, regardless as to his intention. He opts to continuing doing things that he knows will push his brother's buttons. He lives for that. He reaches over, and with a small touch of affection, he adjusts Heine's tie for a moment. He drops his hands and turned his attention to Kuro after a moment.
He sees him almost recoil. If they had known each other, it's surprising that Kuro hadn't mentioned, at least, that they had met. He wouldn't have expected a full detail share. Not that he would have cared if all of the details would have been shared about the encounter, but Kuro didn't seem the type. ]
It was more of a chance encounter, wouldn't you say, Little Vampire? I could see us becoming friends in time, though.
[ No, he is not stopping himself from using the pet name here and now. And yes, he absolutely is absolutely going down this path. His attention shifts back towards his brother. Surely, there's no question that they share genetics just by appearance. ]
Now, now Heine. Don't cause a scene. We're at a party. I'm so glad to see you've made a friend. He's a lot more fun than the others.
[ Okay, so he is absolutely aiming to start something - despite what he says. ]
closed to heine & kuro.

Ah - you two know each other?
