He'd been busy with work lately and today was no exception, though he'd just gotten OFF shift shortly before hearing that familiar, soft voice call out to him. The only reason he hadn't come home yet was due to that he'd taken the time to peruse some shops in the area in an attempt to see if he could find a nice gift for Venti.
Seeing as Xiao hadn't managed that much yet, he sighed and in mere moments? Disappeared and reappeared mere feet from the other he loved so dearly. ]
[ Somehow, Venti is always impressed when calling out like that gets Xiao to appear. He knows it works, but he does his best to not abuse the privilege he enjoys. Still, he blinks with how effective and fast it is. ]
Yes, it's not an emergency or anything! I just wanted to see if you'd like to go out... or if you want a date in tonight?
[ He could cook... or he could pick up some food. Both are options, but neither requires them to take a date out and about. They could absolutely simply stay home.

So he's going to opt for making something light and easy for the both of them. He knows that Xiao will appreciate that just as much as he'll enjoy it himself.
