Ouyang finds the boy's skill interesting. The sort of magic he's seen others use exudes from him as they fight. The General is observant enough to notice Jin Ling is trying to restrain and, some part of him, appreciates that as he has no magic to counter.

After a while, there comes a natural resting point and Jin Ling offers Ouyang a slight smile. It had been good sparring even if it was weird to hold back from using his core.

"You fight well."

[theatrics]

"For a mere mortal." Yes, he can tell there's something more to Jin Ling. He's met those that call themselves cultivators and others who use what they call spiritual energy. While he's not among them, he's developed an admiration for their skills.

[jinlingers]

Jin Ling shakes his head and his head bows slightly.

"You still rise above the normal then, I would think," Jin Ling counters, the other's skills are certainly higher than any non-cultivator he has seen fight.

[theatrics]

"I thank you for the praise." He bows in turn

"You really don't need to, it is well earned," Jin Ling says simply, waving his hand a bit dismissively.

[theatrics]

"We should cross swords again." It's nice to have a sparring partner with different skills than his own. It keeps his eyes fresh and technique valid.

[jinlingers]

"I would like that," Jin Ling nods in agreement.

"Would you like to share a drink?"
