Open Catch-All (TDM Prompts)

⌛ Who: Gaura and whoever joins him!
⌛ What: Some TDM prompts and general exploring
⌛ When: Beginning of June
⌛ Where: Various locations
⌛ Warnings: Gaura has face blindness so if your character has met him before and he doesn't recognize them immediately that will be why!

I. Arukibake

While wandering around to try to get to know his surroundings better, Gaura had noticed the little creatures were following him. However, their presence didn't bother him since they seemed harmless. Though since they'd started following him he'd been given many offers of food and comfort. It was strange honestly. Confusing. But now he had an armful of food that he'd been given which made handling his device a challenge.

Sure that he'd made a wrong turn somewhere, he paused to try to handle the abundance of food he held, the little creatures gathered around his feed to gaze up at him. More coming as he thought about how nice it would be to share all this food with someone but didn't have any of his new friends near him.

"Do you eat, little ones? I can't tell..." he murmured with a soft sigh.

II. Sarusawa Pond

Finding the pond had honestly been an accident. However, he couldn't say that he had any regrets. The water was so much like glass that he was able to see every star reflected in it. Sitting next to the pond, he brought out the instrument that he'd purchased at a stall and started to figure out how to play the bamboo flute. It took a little bit of time but soon he was messing around with the sound to create a lovely melody.

Unaware of any company he might lured over with the music, he kept his eyes closed while he played, at peace in the shadows of the night with just the stars to light the world around him.

III. Meteor Shower

Never before had he seen anything so beautiful. With all the lights out the sky was so clear and every star that fell brought a gasp from his lips. Gaura couldn't stop smiling as he gazed at the wonderful rainbow tails of some that fell. Though whispers of wishes could be heard around him he didn't make a wish himself. He wasn't even sure what he would wish for in the first place except for the happiness of everyone that he'd met here so far.

Perhaps he should call one of them to join him. Henry in particular would probably find wonder in the magic of the rainbow tails. But he didn't want to bother any of them in case they were busy. He could always tell them about it later if need be. They would like hearing the story, of that he was certain.

Reaching up a hand, he pretended like he could catch one, even though he knew how impossible that was. "...beautiful..."

Gaura looked at the other in confusion. Well until he said who he was. Then he gave Lennon a smile, recognition spreading across his features.

"Yes. Though I'm not sure why people keep giving me things..." He gasped as he almost dropped something, managing to rebalance it again.

"I've heard some rumors something about those little things following you around make the natives want to give you things. Do you want some help with all that? Or anything else?" Lennon offers and it seems like the other has his hands full after all and he knows his problems with directions.

It's not hard to put two and two together.

He didn't want to bother him but he also knew that he couldn't carry this by himself. It was quite the dilemma yet in the end he knew what he needed to actually do. So he ended up nodding with a slightly helpless look on his face.

"Please. Thank you. If you see anything you like you're welcome to keep it too. I'm not sure I could really use all of this in a lifetime."

It's not a bother or Lennon wouldn't have offered. He's not that nice (or at least he doesn't think he's that nice). He smiles and reaches to help take some of the load off.

"Ah...well," Lennon scrunches his nose briefly. "Daeshim eats a lot so if you're sure I could help take some of it off your hands. Are you trying to get home?"

"I am. I just keep getting interrupted. And there's so many of these..."

Friends? Yes, he'd started to think of them as friends. They're sweet so he really couldn't be mad at them for just existing like they were supposed to.

"There are a lot," Lennon ponders. He'd had a few himself but not enough to draw too much attention. "They're kinda cute."

"Where do you live again? I can walk with you there."

Gaura told him which of the buildings since he knew it was going to be impossible for him to describe it. He relied so much on the GPS unit on his device. He really would be lost without it. Which made it challenging to use with his arms so full so he was grateful for the company.

"I'll make you something when we get there. To thank you for helping me."

"You don't need to make me anything," Lennon says quickly, shaking his head and helping the other carry what he could he helps lead him toward the other's place so they could deliver everything.

"How have you been settling in?"

"It's alright. I'd like to." He still had to dodge the little creatures around his ankles but once he got past them it was easier to walk with the other. His friend. It was nice to think about how many of those he was getting now.

"Good. I live with someone now. It's nice to have the company every day."

Lennon is quiet for a moment. Food's sort of a difficult thing with him. "Something light would be good then," he finally says, it'd be rude to refuse again after all. He's lost in thought for a movement as they get past the little creatures and get moving.

"Yes, that... I'm still getting used to living with people but it's been mostly nice. What's their name?"

Something light. He could do that. He ran through the things he could make with what he had. Maybe small finger sandwiches. Those would also go well with some tea too.

"Henry. He's a scholar. He offered to let me live with him so I've been at his place for a bit now. Usually I'd be living alone but this has been better."

"Oh! Henry, I've met him," Lennon says with a small smile. He's talked to him a few times on the network anyway and planned to meet him soon in person.

"He's helping me with something. He's very nice isn't he?"

Gaura's face lit up to hear that Lennon knew of the man. And knew that he was nice too. Given how he was developing a crush on the man it was no wonder he'd be excited though...

"He is. He talks to me every night to tell me all about the things that he learns about! I feel so bad that I keep falling asleep in the middle when it gets really late."

"You must be really comfortable together to do that," Lennon says, amusement in his voice. Does someone have a crush? It sounds like someone has a crush and looks like it from the way Gaura lights up.

There are times when Lennon can be absolutely dense but he tends to pick up on those sorts of things.

"I was really comfortable with him from the moment I met him actually. He was easy to get along with and fun to talk to. Listening to him for hours is really nice."

He felt bad that he kept ending up sleeping in Henry's bed rather than making it to his own though. Honestly, he wasn't even sure how much he even used his own bed at this point.

"There's so many wonderful people here who have been so kind to me. He's one of them and I'm happy I met him."

There’s something familiar about that to Lennon. It makes him think of Daeshim fondly. He tries not to get too distracted, though.

“I’m happy for you,” Lennon says — and he means it. “Its… really different here.”

"It is. But I really like that. It's fun to be surrounded by new things and to learn them. Different is honestly really nice."

He'd always been so different in his life. An outcast. Here he actually felt like he was at home for the first time. It was a good feeling and he found himself making this place his home more and more each day.

Lennon nods and he's quiet for a moment as they walk along.

"Do you think it's changed you yet? Being here?"

"Of course. Any situation you experience will change you at least a little bit. That's one of the nice things about life in general."

He paused to consider the question again then looked to him. "Ah did you mean the magic here?"

"Hm..." Lennon hums thoughtfully, pushing some hair behind his ear and he knows they're getting close to the other's residence.

"I didn't... I mean there are those changes too but... I feel like this place has changed me quite a bit... in both senses."

"Change can be something that is terrifying but I like to think that it's good too. If we remained the same from the time of our birth then we'd miss out on so much. I've grown so much here already and I'm grateful for it."

He smiled as he looked ahead again. It was nice honestly, being here. Growing here. "I've made my first lasting friendships here."

Lennon isn’t sure that he’d say it’s been terrifying — the changes anyway. There’s things that do scare him because of things here after all, because of people he’s met here. He finds himself laughing. “It’d be pretty boring if we all stayed babies, Mm,” he jokes because for some reason the mental image of babies running the world had been what popped into his mind.

“That’s good. I… didn’t really have friends anymore back home or family. I’ve found both here.”

"I didn't have friends or family either. I thought that I was content in the fact that I wouldn't have that but this place has shown me how wrong I was."

Because suddenly he wasn't lonely anymore. He was excited for things. Ready to take on the world for real this time. Now he had friends who supported him and wanted to be with him on the journey. Who accepted him despite the condition he had.

He smiled a little more. "I like it here."
