Open Catch-All (TDM Prompts)

I. Starry Night - Pond

Times like this were peaceful for him. When he could stand at the edge of a pond like this and see the stars in the sky as well as the reflection of the water. It reminded him so much of quieter times before everything had changed in his life. When he was just the Night Immortal with his Dream Beast at his side. Before all the pain and suffering...so much caused by his own hand.

Embracing his element, he stepped forth onto the water, walking across the surface with only soft ripples following. Soon the dragon was several feet away from the shore and just looking up at the sky above him. He smiled softly as he did, a breeze softly stirring his hair.

Hearing someone behind him, he looked over his shoulder to see who had joined him.

II. Starry Night - Daytime Stalls

Curious about the stalls that appeared for the meteor shower, Runyu visited them during the day. The food looked good but he wasn't hungry and ignored it for the most part. The trinkets though? These had his attention. Little toys and hair pins and other accessories. He couldn't help but to smile as he looked them over, sometimes picking them up to inspect them before setting them aside.

It was like he was looking for just the right thing. Which was honestly true. He was looking for little gifts for his loved ones. Something special to give to them. They never asked for that but it still felt like something he wanted to do all the same.

Lifting up a pin, he hummed softly then looked at the person next to him. "What do you think?"

III. Starry Night - Meteor Shower

Once all the lights were out, he moved to where he could have a good view of the sky. The shower was stunning, much like the ones he would provide the Mortal Realm in the past. It brought a smile to his lips to watch it happen. "...beautiful."

Near him he heard whispers of which on the rainbow tails. For a second he considered it then shook is head as he looked to the sky again. There was nothing he wanted to wish for. Nothing that he felt he could deserve to wish for. It was better that all that remained in his own world. Unless he wanted to wish for Xufeng's happiness which he already knew his brother would have in the end with Jinmi and those beautiful children.

So, he was just content to watch instead. "I wonder who controls the night sky here..."

The night, itself, was more than a peaceful to the demonic cultivator. Between the stars in the sky and just the way the place felt around him, it all felt good and peaceful. Nippon had given him a lot of peace, something that he was grateful for. Something that he could keep close to him.

There was no Lord Demon here. No Sky-Reaching Terrace. Nothing to plague his mind with. That? He owed to the people in his life. Though, there were two he was fully and wholly devoted to. No one else would be able to get that devotion out of him.

"Walking on water now?" He teases, giving his lover a soft smile, tri-colored eyes seeming almost a bit darker in the night.

Laughing softly at the teasing, he gently waved his hand to provide a crystal clear path of ice for Mingye so he could walk over to join him if he wished to. "I wanted to feel as if I was completely surrounded by the stars. The illusion is stronger here even if I can create one of my own."

Lifting a hand, he pointed to the stars. "I used to be responsible for moving these years ago. All the movements of the night sky were my doing."

Most would probably be worried about that path of ice, especially if they were meant to walk on it. Not Mingye. One? He had his dark energy and two... well, he knows that Runyu would never allow anything to happen to him. His lover wouldn't allow anything to happen to either of them and they both knew it.

So, he walks out on the ice before moving to Runyu's side, laying his head on his shoulder he looks toward the stars that are pointed out," Do you miss that? Needing to move the stars, that is."

"Sometimes. There are days I wonder what it would be like if I were still doing that rather than living the life of an Emperor. One with a scroll of library of crimes to his names." Simpler times. Purer times. Back then it was just having to not step on the toes of the Empress and being mostly alone. A quiet life but not truly painful. He'd even enjoyed it at times.

"But then I would not be the man I am now. And I might not have fallen for you and Ya'er. So I would rather be where and who I am.]

Mingye reaches down to take Runyu's hand in his own, threading their fingers together. Both of them had crimes that could be named. Though, he doesn't really talk about his own. Where Runyu had been Emperor he, himself, had been the heir to the Darknight Court. Something that he's done best to put behind him while in Nippon.

"I like you who you are," He tells him, looking up toward him and giving him a smile. "There would be hell to pay if you ever disappeared."

Dropping his gaze to glance at this lover, he gave his hand a reassuring squeeze. Though he couldn't control the magics of this place, leaving was the last thing he had planned. And another reminder of that wiggled her way up from the sleeve of his other arm. The little dog been napping this whole time but the scent of one of her other men being nearby had caused her to stir.

"I'm not going anywhere. For you and Ya'er. And for little Daiyu here."

Logically? He knows that Runyu didn't have control over the magic of this place. None of them had control over it. There could come a day where Runyu, Ouyang, or himself disappeared. Not that he ever wants that to happen. Not when the three of them were happy. Something that he, himself, never thought possible. Yet, here it was. Something that kept him happy.

"If it did happen then I'm sure Daiyu would have those that care for her."

"She would. But I hope I can there for her instead."

He hadn't told his lovers this but he'd actually given her a few years of his life to save her. A very injured animal in a shelter, likely ready to die soon if he hadn't been there. Perhaps it had been extreme but his mother dying in his arms had been a traumatic experience that he would never forget in his lifetime. He didn't want such a thing to happen again.

"Besides, I'm happy here with all of you. With this family we've created together."

"We're happy here with you," Mingye tells him. He lays his head on Runyu's shoulder and reaches over to where Daiyu is, letting her scent him, and then pets her. He's not surprised that the dog is happy. Though, there's a feeling to the animal too. Not that he's thinking much on it. Besides, even if he had known what Runyu had done he wouldn't be upset over it.

"I wouldn't trade our family for anything here."

Lord Demon? The Darknight Court? They could all stay where they were back home. Would he miss Little Fairy and the crown prince? Sure, but he has his family here and he's actually happy, for once.

"I love you, A-Yu."

The little dog was happy to sniff then lick his hand before accepting pets. She settled back down right away, content to be with two of her three people. Runyu smiled down at her before gazing at the sky again.

"I wouldn't trade this for anything either. I love you so much, Ye'er. I never thought I would even feel this way again yet here I am. Here we are."

In this place filled with unexplainable magic that allowed such beautiful bonds to be created each day. He smiled a little more as he thought about it. "We thrive together here."

There's a soft smile out of Mingye when the dog accepts the pets. Honestly? This wasn't something that he'd ever had before. It wasn't something he was afforded where he was from. There were no pets. No lovers. Nothing that kept him... well, happy. The only happiness he'd ever gotten was out of chasing Feng Wu and making sure that the crown prince didn't get her. In the end, he did, but he respected them both and had ended up happy for them.

"I never thought there'd be a chance at anything for me after what happened back home at the Sky-Reaching Terrance. I'd always thought that it was a life of loneliness for me. So, I am happy that I found you and A-Yang."

Nothing would ever replace what the three of them had. For him? He was devoted to these two men and no one else. "We do. We thrive quite well here."

Daiyu settled into the pets and even gave his hand several fond kisses. It was clear that while Runyu was the one she was most tied to she'd clearly accepted both Mingye and Ouyang as her people to love and cherish. Just as Runyu had hoped she would honestly.

"I think all three of us expected to have a life of loneliness. Instead we were brought here and found each other. Perhaps that is Fate and perhaps it isn't. It doesn't matter either way. I am simply glad that it happened. Always I wanted to have a family and to love someone I could have at my side."

He smiled warmly at him. "Now I have two."

It was almost like the little boy that him and Feng Wu had run into back home, if he's being honest. Except that this wasn't a child. No, this was a little dog. That had been the day he'd wished that he'd met the girl in his younger years. Maybe then the boy he'd known and grown up with would have lived. Not that he truly believed that, but that was not here or there.

"I know that I expected to always be alone. Little Fairy had Jun Linyuan and I'd left the Darknight Court." Not that he talks much about home or what had happened. It wasn't something that had been good, after all. "But no matter what the reasoning behind us finding each other was... we have each other now."

"We will all love each other for as long as we live."

"Agreed."

It was what he'd always wanted honestly. This kind of love and devotion. It was something that he'd craved. That he'd longed so desperately for. For the first time in his long life he truly felt content and he knew it was because of the ones he had in his life. There were a number of people but Mingye and Ouyang were at the forefront of it all.

They'd well and truly saved each other. Each in their own ways. "I've never been happier than I am now."
