Zixuan being gone she'd gotten a bit used to. There had still been Jin Ling within the house. So, there had been noise. When her son had disappeared she'd focused on cooking, gardening, and training with her sword. Focused on the restuarant she helped run with Jin Guangyao. Something that she enjoyed. Her brothers were still there and doing good, so she was semi-good. She even had friends, like Wen Kexing and Atheva. That didn't, however, mean that she didn't miss her husband and son.

When she hears the knock, she gives a soft smile and shakes her head. Moving over to open the door, she steps back a bit. "You know that you two don't ever have to knock, A-Xian." She didn't mind her brothers coming and going as they pleased. "Come in and make yourselves at home."

Of course she missed them! How could she not? All of them knew a little something about missing family, in their own ways. That's why Wuxian thought it so important for them to be there for each other in Nippon. There were no guarantees that any of them wouldn't just vanish like others had.

Wuxian, naturally, made his way to the table with the pot of soup and then to find bowls for them to drink it out of. "We brought soup!"

As Wuxian walked in like he owned the place, Cheng moved to wind his arm around Yanli and offer one of his encompassing side hugs. "For the record, A-Xian brought the soup. I am bringing the medicine to counter the spice he generously dumped in it."

Yunmeng siblings to the end. He felt like keeping Yanli tucked up to him and he wondered how long she would tolerate it. To the table? All the way to being seated? Cheng decided to take his chances and see how long it would take before he was shrugged off.

As the eldest of the siblings she didn't mind her brothers walking into her home like they owned the place. There's a soft smile at the mention of bringing soup. Not that either of her brothers were all that good at making food, but they did their best. Something that she could appreciate. "What kind of soup?" Not that she really has to ask, since she probably knows.

She leans into her baby brother's side when he gives her the half hug, even lets him keep her close. At least, of course, until they get to the table and then she pulls away. "What do you two want to drink?" She'll sit down once they've got that.

Of course, there's no need to ask! The scent should be familiar. Though, hopefully, Jiang Cheng actually did bring some medicine in case their stomachs can't handle the extra kick of spice Wei Wuxian used.

"I'm fine with tea, shijie."

For a moment, Cheng eyed Wuxian, then agreed with the tea. Of course, he brought some countermeasures for whatever concoction Wuxian was going to bestow upon them. "Do you need anything done around here, A-Jie?"

It's a big place and Yanli is only one person. He's not afraid of some maintenance work-he got proficient with it when rebuilding Lotus Pier.

When she pulls away from her baby brother, she moves over to start a pot of tea for the three of them. That, along with cups, are brought over toward the table. Once the tea is done, she fills each of their cups and gives a soft smile.

"Nothing that you or XianXian need to worry about."

Both of her brothers know she's not bound to ask for help, not even with the house. If they decide to help then she won't stop them, but she's not bound to ask for help with the house itself.

"We worry, shijie. It's our duty as your brothers." He's matter-of-fact about it, even though he knows how capable Yanli is.

Even as he makes the comment, he starts ladling out the soup into each of their bowls. It's still steaming hot and even smells a little spicy. Wuxian is clearly proud of his concoction, grinning as he slides a bowl to each of his siblings.

"You know we're always available for whatever you need."

Cheng nodded along, waiting for at least the tea pot getting over to them before he tries to coax their sister to sit and let him deal with tea. "If the roof needs patching, we can do that. Or digging up stumps. Or anything else, really."

"I know you both worry, A-Xian."

That? It was just the way of her brothers. Always worrying about her. It had been the same when they were all younger too. However, she's far too used to taking care of them. That had been her duty from the day that Wei Wuxian had come into their lives. Even before he had, she took care of Jiang Wanyin. As the eldest, it was her job to take care of her siblings.

She does not, however, sit just yet. Not until the tea is poured and a cup before both of her brothers and herself. After that? She does sit down between her brothers, giving both of them a smile. Yanli could smell just how spicy the bowl was.

"How about this A-Cheng, XianXian. If you two see something that needs done or fixed, you can do it. I won't make a fuss over it. Just know that you two shouldn't worry over anything here."

Wuxian pulled a thoughtful look then nodded in agreement. "That works for me. Jiang Cheng?" He already knew the answer. They all did. These were three people who would do anything for each other, especially now that they had a second chance together.

He reaches over to nudge his brother and grins. "That means we'll have to visit a lot!"

The deal was more than acceptable and he hummed his agreement as he nodded. They would be looking for many things that needed fixing before they relaxed. And the thought of visiting more often had its own appeal. He couldn't simply exist just for work and then just at home, either.

"We will definitely be visiting more, A-Jie," Cheng confirmed before taking a spoonful of broth. And then he was trying to choke it down without spewing it all over. Spices! Damnable spices!

Yanli knew before she'd even said anything that her brothers would agree with it. The compromise was one she could give them. Yes, she had the restaurant with Guangyao to run, but that didn't mean she couldn't do things at home. However, both of her brothers knew just how stubborn she was. Something she would always be.

"I would like that. My baby brothers should visit more often," She tells them. Those eyes watch the two of them for a moment before taking a spoonful of broth herself. Unlike Jiang Wanyin, though, she manages to eat the spoonful of broth but shakes her head," It's not too bad for an attempt at my soup, XianXian."

He shoots a dirty look at Jiang Cheng, who he's certain is exaggerating his response, then beams happily at Yanli. "It could never be as good as your soup, shijie."

They were all stubborn, the whole lot of them. It must be a family trait.

"Jiang Cheng and I will figure out a schedule to make sure this place doesn't fall down around you."

Cheng was definitely not exaggerating. He was trying to hold it together, but it simply wasn't in his cards, today. But there was one thing they agreed upon: they were stubborn and would help Yanli with anything.

"Yes, we'll make certain this home is safe. And we will visit."

His world consisted of work and Huaisang. He's been feeling a bit out of place with having only two things to entertain himself with. After years of being a sect leader, it was difficult to do only a few things when for decades, he had been handling everything.

She's trying not to laugh if only knowing how her brothers can get. Even more so when one is trying to win something over on the other. Do better than the other did. A competition, of sorts. Honestly? She wouldn't be surprised if the next time they came over that Jiang Wanyin would have done the soup too. That is one thing she wouldn't put past her brothers.

"I appreciate that."

It would mean that things would not fall into disrepair. That she'd have something to do. Something that would keep her preoccupied. It would also keep them preoccupied.

"More than once a month?"

That question was more on the teasing side. She knows, after all, that she'll see her brothers far more than that.

"If Lan Zhan will let me escape that often," he teases right back. "Of course you'll see us more than once a month!" On that, he didn't even have to confer with his brother. They both love their sister so much! Seeing her is never a burden.

"At this rate, you might get sick of us."

This was exactly what he needed to do. See his family more often. Maybe he should bring that bicycle contraption with him next time so they could learn how to balance on it too.

"I'll even bring the two wheeled monstrosity I was given."

"I will never get sick of either of you."

That? Yanli could say without a shadow of a doubt. She would never get sick of seeing her little brothers. They were her world. Men who had grown up rather well and she was happy to see them happy. See them smile. Both of them deserved something like that. To be able to smile and be at ease with life, at least a little bit.

"You will have to show us how the two wheeled contraption works, A-Cheng."

Let it be known that Jiang Yanli has the patience of a saint. She has to having to deal with these two manchildren.

But Wuxian nodded in agreement with his brother, then stopped, a curious look on his face. "What's this two-wheeled thing you speak of? Do you think it's safe for shijie? Are you sure you've mastered it well enough to teach?" He's so overdramatic in his tone, they must know he's just trying to troll his shidi.

Yep, he knew that Wuxian was trying to get a rise out of him. Some habits never stopped.

"That's why you're learning first," Cheng responded flatly. "To get the beginner's unluck out of the way."

He figured it out well enough. First, he had needed to take the outer layer of robes off because they would get caught in the wheels. Then it was a matter of balance and momentum.

When it comes to her brothers, and those that aren't, she's rather patient. More than patient some days. Though, she can't help but laugh when Wei Wuxian starts asking about the two-wheeled contraption. As well as if it was safe for her or not. Whether Jiang Wanyin had master it enough to teach.

She tries not to laugh at their antics and fails," What if I wish to learn and attempt it first? Are you both going to deny me that?"

"Shijie! What if it's unsafe?" Wuxian is genuinely concerned! He has yet to even lay eyes on this contraption. "Will you at least let me look at it first, before you choose to try it?"

"It's no more dangerous than flying a sword," Cheng responds with an eyeroll. Then stops for a moment, a pang of guilt hitting him. Chewing on his lower lip, he concedes with: "At least you're on the ground. Worse things could happen besides skinning a knee."

Her brothers, unfortunately, had her at a disadvantage where the whole flying on a sword thing was mentioned. She's never actively done anything of the sort and she doubts that it would be a thing. Not unless, of course, this place did something of the nature.

"I will let you look at it first, A-Xian." She would do anything to appease both of her brothers. "Finish your soups and then we'll go sit outside and relax."
