He perks up, silent a moment only due to a mouthful of food, and nods. Once he finishes his bite, he smiles and sets his spoon aside momentarily.

"Did you make this?" Either that or she's the owner of the shop. In either case, he had nothing but praise to give. "This is the best meal I've bought since arriving here!"

"Myself along with Jin Guangyao make the dishes," Yanli tells him with a smile. She loves that they can give people a piece of Yunmeng. A piece of home, as it were. Even if it was not native to Nippon and her people. Still, people enjoying the food made her happy. Even happier when they order her signature dish.

So, that smile never once leaves her face," Though, if you're eating the lotus root and pork rib soup then, yes, I made that. It's a dish I enjoy making."

"I've never had spicy food before," he admits. He looks from Yanli to the soup, then back to her with a warm smile. "It must be a family recipe. I can taste love in it."

"Never?" She asks giving Henry a warm smile of her own. "It's something that I make for my brothers. So, you could say that it's made with love in it. As well as being something I enjoy. Don't hesitate to let me know if there's anything else you want to try," She tells him.

"No, never," he affirms. Plain ramen is about the most adventurous he's gotten (well, and some sushi with Gaura). "My flatmate like spicy food, so I want to try some so we can eat them together."

[fierceprotector]

"Well, we do quite a bit of spicy dishes here," Yanli tells him with a soft smile. They tried, anyway, to bring quite a bit of Yunmeng to Nippon. Which meant spicy foods that could be enjoyed by those who had never had them. "So, you can always bring your flatmate here if you would like to try them together."

Silver nods with a smile. "I think he would like this very much." He peers down at his dishes and sighs wistfully. "It almost makes me wish I could make something for him."

"Well, if you ever want to learn, I can teach you," She tells him. Though, that didn't mean she'd give away her special dish. There was, however, a lot she could teach Henry if he ever wanted to make something for his flatmate or anyone else, especially those that liked spices.

Grey eyes go wide with surprise, then shift to jubilation. His whole face lights up at the offer.

"Really? You would do that?"

[fierceprotector]

She can't help but give a slight smile when she sees Henry's whole face light up like that. The only time she's ever seen something like that? It was in her siblings. So, it's nice to see it elsewhere, in someone else.

"Of course, I wouldn't mind."

He's genuinely excited by the offer. Not that it stops him from shoveling more food into his mouth. He chews a mouthful of the fish with another happy hum, then swallows. "I will take you up on that offer," he warns with a playfully smile.

That playful smile almost reminds her of her brother and she shakes her head, giving a soft smile of her own. She enjoys that excitement. "You will have to pick a day then," she tells him. She could work around what he wanted or needed, after all.

"My schedule is open. I have no obligations to keep me. When would be a convenient day for you?" He'd hate to interfere in her work.

[fierceprotector]

"Pick a day on the weekend and we will go with that," She tells him. After all, whether he had obligations or not, she would still work with what he gave her.

"This Saturday?" He's clearly eager to begin. Even if he can learn just one dish to prepare for Gaura, he'll be happy.

[fierceprotector]

There's a soft laugh out of Yanli, but she gives a soft hum," This Saturday works great. Do you have an idea of what you want to try to make? I will, however, tell you that I won't give away the secret to my soup, though." That way it was out there on the table. That's the one recipe that she will never give away.

Silver nods in understanding. It was her family recipe, after all. It makes sense that she wouldn't give it away. "Probably something that's a little on the simpler side. I really haven't cooked much in my life."

It wasn't even something that she'd shared with Kexing. Though, she has made her signature soup for others. She has no problems doing something like that and enjoys it, even. "We can start simple. Though, we won't just end with you learning one thing. Before long you'll be able to make many different dishes."

Silver smiles warmly. So far he's encountered such kind people in Nippon! "I hope so! I want to be able to do something nice for Gaura."

[fierceprotector]

That warm smile has her giving a bit of a smile," Well, as long as you're a good student then you'll be able to. For now, however, I will leave you to your food."

"Thank you kindly, Miss...?"

[fierceprotector]

"Jiang." She gives a slight bow and that smile never once goes away. "I am Jiang Yanli." Now, at least, he knew who she was.

"Thank you, Miss Jiang. My name is Henry Silver." In case he hadn't introduced himself before. "Thank you for your help and for this wonderful meal!"

"You are very welcome and I am happy that you are enjoying your meal," She tells him, giving a slight bow before turning to head back into the kitchen.
