She took a few moments to study the drawings and smiled, looking back up to him. "These are very good. And yes, I've found many different plants here and some were similar to my home as well."

She offers her hand, her smile still polite. "I'm Nimue." Normally she wouldn't feel so comfortable revealing her name but no one from her realm was here. And really, the only reason why she might protect her name was from the Fey but... she was one of them. So there was no reason to do so."

He's definitely a regular old human, no need to worry there! Though his eyes widen at her name (in the time period he's from, it isn't common at all!).

"Nimue? Like the Lady of the Lake?" Oh yes, he's at least passingly familiar with his world's version of Arthurian legend.

She scrunches up her nose in confusion.  “Lady of the Lake?”  The confusion is quickly replaced with a smile.  “No.  The humans and Fey alike call me the Wolf Blood Witch.  There’s no Lady of the Lake I know of.”

Nimue never considered what happened to her after falling into the water.  It was a simple conclusion that she died in her world then.  And she never fathomed that there could be more than one similar world, with the same people and same name, just slightly different turn of events.  “I was… I think I died on earth.  I remember arrows and falling off the bridge and drowning in the water.  I can only hope that Merlin was able to keep the sword of power away from the Red Paladins.”

Silver can't help being thrilled at these mentions that are so familiar to him from the Arthurian legends of his world. Well, even in his world, the stories vary depending on who did the telling. A lot of the old sympathetic magic and paganism get sanitized from later versions told by Christian scholars.

Red Paladins, however, he's never heard of. "Would you mind telling more about your world?"

"There really isn't much to say," she begins after a moment, folding her hands in her lap. "I suppose war is prelevant anywhere one goes. For me, it was the Red Paladins inciting the humans to destroy the Fey and murder them all. They destroyed my village, murdered my mother, all to keep their god alive. Anything and anyone who believed in the ancient ways were a threat and they chose King Uther to be their champion of sorts. All I wanted was to keep the Fey safe. And alive. That's all I wanted and I sacrificed everything for it."

Nimue's lower lip trembled as her thoughts went to Pym and Morgana and Arthur and Squirrel. She had sacrificed so much and she could only hope that they continued to thrive where ever they may have gone. "My mother begged me with her dying breath to take the Sword of Power to Merlin. But he wants it destroyed. And it seems to be the only thing that's keeping my people alive. King Uther wants it to solidify his domain. The Red Paladins want it...because they want to take anything Fey and I imagine use it to further their cause. Arthur... Well. He's taken the remaining Fey across the seas in Pendragon's navy. They're safe. I hope to the gods they're all safe."

He hangs on every word, fascinated by that which is vaguely familiar, yet different. That, and the idea of world where humans and faeries live together. In his world, they're all but gone, their realm a different dimension lost to time and nothing but a wasteland.

But he finds himself softening, also hoping that her kith and kin found safer shores. It's nice to imagine they did have some place to call their own in the world.

"You must be worried for them."

"I am," she agreed, her face moving to rest on her knees as she drew them up to embrace. "But I received word before I was chased that the ships were arriving to take them away. And with Arthur leading them, they will be safe."

There were a few moments where she was lost in her own head, knowing that the seas wouldn't bring a safe journey, but it was a better chance they had then where the Red Paladins were. Gathering up her courage to push her concerns aside, she looked up at the young man, offering a smile.

"I'm afraid it's not a good story. Or a happy one. I'm sure they're fine."
