Duo snorted a laugh and lightly whacked the hip his hand rested upon. "I'm a carriage now? Not sure how ta take that, Wu!" Actually he was flattered. The meaning was clear enough and it made him smile. Wufei had chosen to be with him.

"You should probably focus more on the part where it makes you mine," he replied lightly, reaching up to brush a stray bit of hair away from his face. "Otherwise I'll start making pregnancy jokes that we'll both regret." His sense of humor was still a work in progress.

Duo's smile widened some more. "Possessive too? Kinda like that, Wu." Okay yeah, maybe he was a bit weird. Luckily Wufei was just as weird and soon had Duo laughing his damn ass off. Where the hell had he come up with 'pregnancy jokes' from? His boyfriends mind was scary sometimes. "Think it's a good thing you can't get pregnant! No one needs a little version of me runnin around. Ones bad enough!"

He let out a bark of a laugh, giving his head a shake. "I don't think we would make the best parents," he agreed sheepishly. "We're both much too impulsive, and I'm sure any child we had would encapsulate our very worst traits," he snorted softly. "Your sneaking skills and my sense of justice? The kid would probably overthrow the government." Just like their dads.

"I'd be an awesome dad! But I'd let them get away with murder so probably not the best..." Not having had a dad of his own, Duo knew if he ever ended up being a dad he would probably overcompensate. He'd spoil them rotten. Probably be lax on the rules.

"... I'd be kinda proud of them if they did that." Duo admitted with a laugh. "But hey, maybe they'd get all the best parts of us?"

"I'd probably be too strict, so you'd make an excellent counterpoint," he offered with a grin, snorting softly at the idea of being proud. "Me, too," he admitted softly, giving Duo a gentle squeeze.

"Best parts of us? So that's, what... your hair and my cheekbones?" he teased. "Or maybe it's your ability to talk your way out of anything and my ability to find trouble at the most inopportune times?"

Well he hasn't wanted to say 'strict', but Duo could easily see Wufei as being the 'enforcer of rules' while he was the one who taught their kid how to slip under the radar. Duo had a feeling they'd drive Wufei crazy. More reason to not have kids!

"I was thinkin your eyes... your smile. And you joke, but your sense of justice is one of the things I find attractive about you, Wu. Havin hard lines between what you know is good or bad? Wish I could be more like that." But Duo saw things in shades of gray... or just stark black. "But hey, I thought I was the trouble magnet here?"

It would both drive him absolutely nuts and make him extremely proud. A very difficult combination to contend with, most likely.

When Duo suggested his eyes and smile, his face went pink, that absurd little cloud forming around him, pink and sparkly. And then Duo had to go and mention his sense of justice, his gaze dropping. "It isn't... as helpful as it may seem at first," he replied quietly. "It can be crippling. It..." he stops himself, before he starts getting too deep into those particular feelings.

They're supposed to be having a light, fun conversation. Not dwelling on their past wrongs. Especially since they were supposed to be celebrating. They'd passed the last of the trials. They were Oni-married.

"It's what attracted me to you in the first place." Duo replied gently, pulling Wufei to a stop as he did. "Babe, we're talkin hypotheticals right now. Chances of us having kids is..." Unfortunately very low. He would have liked to have had a big family, even if he had to adopt. "But that moral compass of yours isn't a bad thing. It's lead you to some places maybe it shouldn't, but everyone makes mistakes and learns from em. Makes you stronger, better, a more rounded human being. Right? Because you're an amazing man, Wu." And Duo loved everything about him, warts and all.

There was that damn pink cloud again, sparking around Wufei's head right around the time Duo finished singing his praises, though it's tinged gray around the edges. "You really think so? Even though what I did was so... extreme?" he has a lot of guilt packed up around that whole situation with Barton and Mariemaia, and he's never really gotten around to unpacking all of that.

Especially since his usual method of dealing with guilt or emotional turmoil involves picking fights, and they've already agreed that he shouldn't do that anymore. He hasn't figured out what to do instead yet.

"I really think so." Duo sighed and just went and gathered his boyfriend up into his arms, sparkling cloud and all.

"We all did some shit we regret, Wu. You fucked up, you know you fucked up. But it was your mistake to make." And Duo honestly didn't think Wufei would do something like that again. It had been a learning experience that had made Wufei stronger. And in some ways weaker. His guilt was an anchor around the poor guys neck that weighed him down and Duo had no idea how to go about helping him remove it. All he could really do was love him and show him acceptance and hope it would be enough.

The gray in his cloud didn't fade, but he smiled anyway. "I love you," he murmured, because he was still getting used to saying it, but it was what he felt, very intensely, in that moment.

The guilt really was his Achille's heel, but as long as he didn't isolate himself again, it wouldn't be so big of a problem. It really kicked his ass when he sat and stewed in it by himself for too long, and that wasn't likely to happen again any time soon. Or ever, hopefully.

"Love you." Duo returned, echoing it with a smile and punctuating it with a soft kiss to his boyfriends lips. "All of you. Past, present and future. Every part of you." Because Duo felt he really needed to drive that home. Whatever Wufei had done, Duo didn't care. He'd done his fair share of shitty things over the years, things he regretted deeply, things he wished he could go back and change. But there was no doing that. They happened and there wasn't much else he could do about it other than learn from them and move on. Just as Wufei was.

Wufei smiled softly into the kiss, humming in agreement. "Let's go back to our room and pass out for a while," he suggested lightly, since that's the direction they'd been heading in, anyway. "Maybe we'll get lucky and be able to forget this even happened," a man could have hope!

"Back and sleep. Gotcha." Duo pressed one last kiss to Wufei's lips before he pulled away and switched lips for holding his boyfriends hand. Sleep really sounded good, how he was thinking about it. The day had taken a lot out of him, and if it had done that for him he could easily imagine it was the same for Wufei.

"Don't wanna forget. It was pretty cool." Duo argued lightly. "But next time, lets not go and destroy something that came from our actual souls."

Wufei hummed happily, settling his hand firmly in his lover's hand, giving it a firm squeeze. "Well, there is that," he agreed with a chuckle. "I hope we can do it again -- minus the destruction part. That scythe felt amazing to hold. Perfectly balanced, and felt like I was holding onto your hand almost. And the daisy was... beautiful."

"The daisy was really pretty... You think Aerith'd be able to find us some?" Wufei had a better relationship with their neighbour, but Duo knew she loved flowers. He'd passed by often enough to see her in her garden pottering about. Had even given her a hand once or twice hauling heavy rocks. "I think I'd like a garden full of em." Wildflowers and daisies. He didn't need anything flashy, but he wanted daises. They meant something special to Wufei and that was all Duo needed to know.

That sparkly pink cloud of his started threatening to make an appearance when Duo asked that, and Wufei smiled softly. "I'm sure she could, yes. They're a fairly common flower, I think I've even seen a few out in the wilds here," the idea of having a whole garden of them was bittersweet, and he pulled Duo's hand up to brush a kiss to his knuckles.
