Music Box: Thoughts Edition

See, here's the thing about Maglor. His thoughts are noisy. His family could have mentioned how 99% of the time he was composing in his youth - this has not, in fact, gotten any better as he's gotten older - it's just that the 1% not dedicated to music got LOUD.

So it's a toss up if the music box tunes in to his thoughts if one is going to get a sudden jangle of whatever composition he's working on at the moment (it might sound like a cacophony of noise, or something very close to the most perfect symphony you've ever heard, depending) or just random rambling streams of thoughts.

He's surprisingly paternal, if you listen to his thoughts. There's a lot of worrying over... pretty much everyone.

Music Box: Memories Edition

The memories that the box picks vary - you might run into him staring fondly at the image of a large, noisy family doing all sorts of things from playing to crafting to fighting to just existing, to brilliant great light sources that happen to look a bit like trees, to beautiful cities that look like paintings, to much darker memories - lonely shores, fire and war, long tiring nights guarding those behind him, all the way to softly sad memories - dark haired twins in a cold castle.

He'll talk about any of them, if asked, but probably won't notice any watchers to discuss them without being prompted.

Soul Artifact

".............we don't have to do this, if you don't want to."

He's very not sure if he WANTS to know what his soul artifact is. But this is what they've been asked to do so...

(It's a harp. Just a harp. His shoulders will drop in relief when it is revealed - clearly, he was expecting something else. But when the strings are touched... Something like grief will cross his face. )

Trial of Promise

"You cannot leave until you..." He reads out slowly, in the dim cave his glow is striking, especially since there's no other source of light barring the words on the wall.

"...Ah." He sighs, unhappily.

Trial of Devotion

He eyes the mountain and wonders aloud, "Do you think they mind if we cheat? I wonder if I can put them to sleep?"

Alternatively, he could just fight his way up. The odds are better than many times in his past.

"What do you think?"

Trial of Love

He waits only until the rules are announced before stating, very calmly; "That's fine. I'll just break mine."

What is such pain after all, compared to all the pain he has already had in his life?

He'll immediately move to smash the harp on any available surface unless stopped.

"...Well, rather Moryo than Curvo in that case." Both options are less than desirable but he'd trust Moryo with such abilities just a tiny bit more than he would Curvo.

"Savory I think."

"Rather none of them, please and thank you! But yes, I'd rather trust Moryo than Curvo!"

A nod. "It does have some meat pies, if I recall. Chicken, I think?"

"Preferably, yes. But if I had to chose one of them to have such gifts I would probably pick Moryo."

"Sounds acceptable. What about you?"

"I think you're the only one I trust not to abuse that sort of power."

Maglor hums happily. "They have a seafood one too, which I like."

[holdshisown]

"I'm not so sure about that. If I had such an advantage to call upon who knows what I would do?" But the praise does make him blush a bit.

"I've never been much for seafood myself, but I'm glad they have something you'll enjoy."

[bythewaves]

"Nag?" Maglor teases.

"I got... used to it. By the sea." He shrugs. "Although mine was... mostly just grilled fish."

[holdshisown]

"Most definitely that! You lot would do nothing productive if I didn't nag at you on occasion." He teases back.

"But you enjoy it now?" He asks.

[bythewaves]

"I suspect your idea of 'on occasion' doesn't match with ours!" He retorts cheerfully.

"I got used to it?" He shrugs again. "But theirs is MUCH nicer. It has a sauce!"

[holdshisown]

"Probably. You louts thinks naging even once would be too much!"

"Sauce does tend to improve even the worst of dishes." He agrees. "Perhaps when we have time we could see if we can find food you enjoy rather than what you're simply used to."

[bythewaves]

"Nelyo, nagging is your default setting." Maglor says fondly. "You're doing it right now. I do like seafood, I promise. Yes, I had to learn to like it, but in a nice creamy sauce it really is quite nice."

[holdshisown]

"Not true!" He can't help but to feel a bit indgnant at that accusation, even if there was some truth to it. "I'm just... looking out for my little brother. Nothing wrong with that. If you're sure I suppose I'll have to take your word for it."

[bythewaves]

"You can try it too, if you want?" He laughs softly at the face he makes.

"We can split half and half?"

[holdshisown]

"I suppose I could..." Though he's not fond of seafood. The fish is fine, good even sometimes, it's the shellfish and the like that he can't stand.

"Acceptable, I think I could agree to that."

[bythewaves]

"Maybe just a bite then, to see if you like it." Maglor coaxes, beaming with a smile when he agrees.

"This way then!"

[holdshisown]

"If it will make you happy. And, who knows the sauce might actually make it tolerable?" He says, though he has his doubts.

"Lead the way, brother."

[bythewaves]

"I promise, it's good." Maglor drags him happily to the shop.

[holdshisown]

He let's himself be draged along with only a minimum amount of grumbling. Worst case scenario he'll just stealthily push any shellfish over onto Maglor's plate. "We'll see, but I promise I'll give it an honest try at least."

"That's all I can ask."
