Moving day
⌛ Who: Chuuya, Akutagawa, Higuchi, BunAl Dazai, Setsura
⌛ What: Chuuya moves house and invites his closest CR to come along
⌛ When: Post-Event, late March.
⌛ Where: An old house in Edo
⌛ Warnings: N/A besides some really weird architecture because the mafia squad is cursed.
[The message is sent to all his closest CR without much warning, a few days after they return from Chubu.]
So that forest bullshit was a disaster.
I'm moving into a bigger place, one with plenty of room since my apartment doesn't have nearly enough.
If any of you want to come with, you're all more than welcome. I've got enough cash saved up to afford the move and furnishing some rooms up.
[And indeed, he does have enough cash-- at least for basic furnishings and good beds, including whatever was left behind by the previous home owners. He makes absolutely sure their heaters are good ones, and all of them will have a little gift appear outside their door the day after they choose their rooms: A single, well made outfit for each of them, bought from a very thankful elderly tailor he might have beaten up some thugs for.
Did he spend... all his savings on this? Maybe. Keeping his people comfortable and safe is his top priority.
The house needs a little bit of repair work and definitely some cleaning, but it's quite a large one with plenty of rooms for them all to choose from. There's even a small attic and a basement that... is clearly long unused and more than a little weird. Why are there wooden cages built into the basement? Are those manacles?
There might be other strange little spots in the house too, like loose floorboards, hidey holes and secret passages, and who knows what else. None of this was at all concerning to Chuuya upon scouting out the place, he'd just filed it under 'potentially useful'.]

Actually -- [ "Hee hee hee!" ] -- get out of there, you little--!
[ "Hahahaha!"
And there's what sounds like a gust of wind making impact with a wall now. ]
If it's not any trouble, I think I'll take you up on that.
[ In response to a weakened heehee, there's a muffled haha that can be heard in answer now?? ]
Definitely.
UN: TaintedSorrow
...What's--
....That giggling. That's not Setsura.
Is someone there?
He quirks a brow at that crashing sound. Setsura seems to have whatever it is in hand, at least.]
...I'm coming over. I can help you... take care of that maybe, then help you pack.
[Whatever that is, but if Setsura has a body to bury he's happy to help? That's what friends do right--]
no subject
[ Another gust, a little burst of static, and there's that laughing again. ]
From getting into my clothes!
[ "Heeheehee!"
There's that pitterpatter. It's making a run for it again -- ]
no subject
[Chuuya squints at his device, deciding to take the quick way to her place and just go by rooftop. It's fine. Probably.]
Or did some weirdo move in since you're almost never home?
[...He's not wrong, Setsura shows up at his place at any and all odd hours, and he knows he's not the only one.]
no subject
[ Just yes, she thinks, and he isn't wrong. She's almost never at her own dorm, and it's just that -- a room, not anything remotely like a nest or home to her. It's storage and because she largely uses it that way, she can't say with certainty if this giggling thing -- things? Actually moved in or not. ]
It was in my bed for several minutes after I got into it without so much as a stupid --
[ "Heehee!" "Hahahaha!" ]
-- laugh.
[ She may be contemplating seeing if it can fly out her window with a helping hand at this point. A helping hand is all she got. She managed to get the cover from it and she's kept that mostly over her despite that she isn't at all a shy woman.
In this case, it merits it. What sort of creature lays quiet next to you when you're naked for minutes and then giggles into your ear??
She needs to wash her ear. She needs a bath. ]
I don't think it's a youkai or a human unless it's cursed. You'll understand when you see it.

[Perhaps before, she wouldn't have liked the idea of living all together in a big house. Not for a lack of desiring company, but because... well, a lot of reasons. But none of those reasons apply anymore. And so she accepts the offer wholeheartedly... provided she actually gets her own room. Even if only to change in.]
[On the day they move in, she decides to change into the new outfit Chuuya got for her. After everything that happened earlier this month, it's no secret she's been feeling pretty down on herself. This is probably the most she's dressed up since then. But there's a smile on her face as she moves her few possessions into their new home.]
[...even if it's a home that looks like it'll need a good amount of TLC before they can call it anything but a dump.]
Well... it's not gonna clean itself, I guess. Where do you think we should start?
Pest Control
H-Hey... can one of you come here for a minute? There's... something in my room.
[Oh, there's something all right. When she opens the door, they'll find what appear to a very fat sausage-like snake, its tail in its mouth as it rolls around like a hula hoop on the loose. As soon as the door is open, it starts coming this way--]
[And the door is quickly slid shut again by Higuchi. Nope.]
Wha... what is that!?
Nostalgia
[Once enough of the house is cleaned that they can actually call it home, Higuchi takes a seat on the balcony with one of the sliding doors open behind her, relaxing with a drink in hand prepared by Kajii (who is thankfully not moving in, because he rather likes the workshop he's set up in Yokohama). It's still a little chilly out, but in front of their house, a cherry blossom tree is just starting to bloom, illuminated by the lights from the living room behind her. It's a rather pretty sight, even if it makes her feel a little homesick.]
[When someone comes to sit beside her, she muses aloud to herself, a smile on her face.]
...it feels a little strange living in a big house like this with everyone. It was always just me and my sister by home.
pest control
Transforms his book into his scythe. He can deal with this problem efficiently.]
no subject
[She appreciates that he can just summon a big fuck-off scythe out of nowhere, but not the time!!]
Do you think you can just... push it out the window? Or... roll it, I guess?
no subject
I think I could probably just pick it up.

[Chuuya's just finished moving his belongings into his chosen room, which... didn't actually consist of a whole lot either, outside of clothes, his katana and a box of booze.
#priorities.]
Honestly, I've never fixed up a home like this... I have no idea where to start. We're all cleaning our own bedrooms, and the kitchen doesn't look too bad at least? What do you think?
[Usually he lives in brand new, swanky mafia owned apartments. This was new.]
no subject
[Obviously he does when he bought it for her!! But self-esteem wasn't built in a day.]
[But she glances around the room, tapping her chin.]
Hm... I guess we should start by sorting out the things we don't want to keep? If we leave it by the curb, they'll come by and take it away with the trash. It's nice that it's furnished, but... there's a lot of stuff in here.
no subject
[He shoots her a happy smile alongside the compliment. Normally he'd ask why he wouldn't think so if he just said it, but he also knows Higuchi's Working On It in terms of self-esteem.
He glances around with her, giving the room a considering look.]
Yeah, we should probably figure out what we'll keep and what we'll get rid of before we do much unpacking, huh? That's a good plan. Where do you want to start?

Moving Day
[ Setsura runs a finger along the edge of a bookshelf thickly caked with dust as she speaks. Rubbing it between two fingers, she turns not just her eyes, but her other senses around the room critically. ]
It's stale in here and if we kick up the dust in here without direction, it'll just settle on something else or get in our eyes and lungs and slow us down.
[ And here she pauses, canting her head slightly, curiously at the other woman. ]
What do you think, Miss...?
no subject
[Higuchi wasn't sure what to make of this strange woman who was invited to live with all of them. But she seems more connected to Chuuya than to Akutagawa, so that's... fine.]
[But really, it did set her a little at ease, not to be the only woman in a house full of men. Even if they were all men she trusted.]
But that's a good point! It's not so chilly right now, so it won't be a problem to keep the windows open for a little while. Even if I don't really want to risk inviting anything else in... there was already a snake... thing... in my room.

[Of course Dazai had jumped at the chance to live with Chuuya, Akutagawa, and Higuchi. What kind of idiot would he have to be not to?
Which means he has a spring in his step as he's exploring his new home. He's already changed into his new outfit.]
Oh, this bedroom has bookcases already! Dibs.
[The most important thing.]
[Domesticity]
[This morning you might wake up to the smell of cooking breakfast. Investigating the kitchen will reveal Dazai, wearing a 'Kiss the Author' apron (over clothes, he's not doing the naked apron thing as fun as it would be) and currently busy making omelets.]
Gooood morning~
[Taking his role as mafia sugar baby very seriously.]
no subject
[Chuuya meanwhile is dressed in simple slacks and a shirt this morning, hair still damp and extra curly after washing up. He offers Dazai a grin at the greeting, though a short laugh escapes him at the apron.]
'Kiss the Author' huh? Where'd you get that?
no subject
It's a custom piece.
no subject
That must have taken some effort to get.
[He'll lean in to Dazai, reaching up to tug him down into a brief kiss.]
Which means I better follow what it says, right?

WILDIN': Trimming the Hedges
Did anyone happen to bring any pruning shears?
[ Because -- well, her lack of familiarity with this curiously shaped plant aside, this won't stand. They are not about to be the, "And once you see the house covered in dick leaves, you've arrived," residence, not if she has anything to say about it.
Really. ]
no subject
Will this work?
no subject
I think so.
[ Does he lift?? And that blade -- ]
They're, erm... kind of climbing the side of the house all the way up to the roof.
[ The dick leaves, which the breeze is now seeing fit to help greet her company enthusiastically, too. She hasn't noticed that part yet. Give her a minute. ]

[Chuuya isn't particularly skilled at fixing things... but it doesn't seem exactly hard at a glance. Most of the house is livable, if overgrown and damaged in places.
He supposes one order of business is getting rid of any encroaching brush and plants, clearing away vines clinging to the porch that look like... well, like dicks honestly. Whatever, they don't belong on the porch or walls of the house, and especially shouldn't be climbing through one of the paper screen doors.
Some of which are desperately in need of repair, actually. Chuuya's never actually repaired one of these, so he's left just staring at one with a perplexed look.]
New room
[Chuuya had chosen a room facing the garden, a little stuffy and smelling of mothballs but nothing a little airing out won't fix. There's plenty of things left behind by the previous owner: He sets aside some books he thinks Dazai might enjoy to pass along, but some he keeps for himself.
There's an ornate tansu chest he takes the time to thoroughly inspect, but it's... weird. Whoever the owner was had some really weird hobbies. The smallest drawer seems to be full of tiny animal skulls, and another one has sachets of strange powders that he... is really not sure are medicine. Another just has a bunch of ties?
The lowest and largest drawer has... well, what is definitely a bunch of sex toys. Chuuya gawps.]
Who the hell puts sex toys and the rest of this stuff in the same set of drawers?!
[There's also some pretty strange stuff in the closet, which he's going to have to inspect. He might need some help with that.]
Settled in
[A few days later, after he's set up his room properly, some might smell incense burning in the evening. It's not to clear out any lingering smells, no-- Chuuya has a tiny butsudan set up in a discreet alcove of the room.
He would usually visit the graves themselves on occasion, but that isn't possible here... so he could at least do this.]
Settled In
That is, until a certain wisp had reached her eyes and led her to get dressed and pause here in front of a certain door. She's sure it's coming from here. ]
Chuuya?
no subject
He's dressed casually-- a simple dark red yukata, his hat set aside somewhere in the room for the moment. He peers at her quietly for a short moment-- taking in how nice she looks in the new outfit while wondering if she needs anything.]
Setsura? What's up?
[He offers her a small, pleased smile.]
You look good in that. I'm glad you like it.
