July | Event: Waterpark Waves

Waterpark Waves↲ OOC Plotting
Minimize
Thanks to the Refugees, vital information concerning the history and application of Kizuna bonds is now available to the NRL with MRU's cooperation, quickly allowing for new breakthroughs in their research.
As thanks-- all Refugees who participated in the Trials last month are gifted a free week-long stay at Itabashi Springs, Tokyo's premiere (and only) indoor waterpark, while others will be given the chance to buy vacation packages at a highly discounted rate! Boasting a massive indoor complex, it's one of the largest buildings in Tokyo, housing a vast botanical garden, aquarium, and water park!
Wet n' Wild

By and far, the greatest attraction at Itabashi Springs is the water park itself! While the area will be a little overrun with children, the park is open to all ages, and includes a number of activities and pools for guests to use. Large water wheels can be seen pumping water through bronze-colored pipes, and a rainy midday sky can be seen though the steel and glass roof covering the complex.
But some may take notice of the large number of "swim at your own risk" signs. It turns out that Itabashi is among the first water parks in Nippon, and even after a year of operation, there aren't too many safety standards yet. They have lifeguards at least?
Black and Blue and Bronze Itabashi, Tokyo
Everyone who walks in will be immediately met by the sight of dozens of bronze tubes and slides encircling a number of pools. These water slides come in a variety of speeds, with one even requiring that riders wear helmets, as most people tend to slide out too fast, skipping over the landing pool, and slamming into a nearby wall. You know, safety first.
Those who visited Itabashi Gardens on its opening weekend may remember a certain waterslide boasting a pair of vertical loops. The slide has since been altered to create two horizontal loops instead, but the risk of being trapped inside is definitely still present, as most will find themselves coming to a stop in the purgatory between the two loops. Better start crawling, or else there's going to be a traffic jam inside the tunnel!
But not all the slides are dangerous. The newest attraction is by far the most popular, as a pair boards an inner tube and makes a slow decent down a clear pipe, which extends through one of the aquarium tanks. The lights are low and the ride is smooth, making it a popular choice for couples looking for something a little more romantic.
Wait, is that a crack? Is the aquarium tank leaking into the slide?? Don't worry about it.
Have Fun Don't Drown Itabashi, Tokyo
One of Itabashi Gardens' biggest selling points is their lazy river attraction. A narrow river circles and weaves in between other pools and under footbridges, lined with tall plants to give the illusion of privacy as swimmers float or ride atop an inner tube along the easygoing current of the water.
Along the way, swimmers can push their friends down various paths containing traps, such as a cave filled with waterfalls that drops buckets of heavy water on their head, or a slide that leads down into an isolated pool with a small bar, where swimmers can sit in the water and enjoy alcoholic beverages. Drinks must be finished before swimming back out to the main river again, but there's more than enough space to swim and float around by the bar. Alternatively, the bar-exclusive hot tubs are located just outside another exit, where additional drinks can be delivered while you relax in the hot and bubbling water. This is the only swimming attraction open late at night, so those who want a little more privacy best be staying in the hotel to get late-night access.
And of course, what water park isn't complete without a wave pool! Rather than use machinery for this, the lifeguards themselves have been trained in Mizu magic, allowing them to manually control the rise and fall of the waves. This results in a much more personalized experience, with some swimmers taking to goading the lifeguards into giving them bigger and bigger waves.
Just... don't piss them off. They're professionals who've studied for years to be able to do this, and insulting them will encourage them to bend the water around the offender, causing them to fall onto the dry pool floor. The water will constantly bend away from them no matter how fast they try to dive back into it. While not fun to experience, it's certainly hilarious to watch happen to someone else.
Deep Blue Sea

The aquarium is perhaps the greatest showing of Tokyo's technological advancements over other cities, with vast tanks containing any number of fish and other sea creatures. Guests can spend hours looking into the tanks and appreciating this rare look at Gaia's unique wildlife.
Refugees who decide to stay in the hotel will be staying in one of a number of rooms sharing a wall with the largest tank in the complex. Take a relaxing nap as sealife gently coasts by the window, as if living under the sea. Just keep in mind that with the lights off, it's not too hard to see across the tank and into another bedroom, so don't forget to close the curtains before doing any Activities (unless you're into that).
Landshark Itabashi, Tokyo
By far, the greatest appeal of the aquarium is the different ways one can experience the sights, as in addition to the winding paths outside the tanks, there are also guided tours inside, using magi-tech breathing apparatuses to allow for breathing underwater, with the latest model even allowing for natural-sounding speech through a small speaker. These devices have a half-hour time limit before they need to be refilled at the surface, but those proficient in Mizu magic will find they can stay underwater just fine for well over an hour.
Guests will be warned not to stray from the group for their own safety. But those who do may find themselves in areas they're clearly not meant to be, with one such area including a large shark tank. For the most part, the sharks won't bother anyone. They're not the thing to worry about. Unbeknownst to the staff, a kagewani was accidentally captured when gathering specimens for the aquarium. Known as the shadow-shark ayakashi, it appears only as a flat dark shadow with no physical body, and should your own shadow cross in front of it, it'll attack and simulate the pain of a shark bite, even from very far away.
Immediate treatment of the skin will alleviate the pain, but waiting too long will allow the curse to settle into their bones, resulting in a deeper pain that lasts for over a week. Alternatively, killing the kagewani will undo the curse immediately. How do you kill a shadow? While stabbing it may cause it to run away, exposing its body to bright light is the only way to kill the creature.
Considering the effects of its curse can extend through the glass walls of the tank itself, even those simply walking through the aquarium normally best be careful not to cast a shadow into the tank either!
Horny Sealife Itabashi, Tokyo
One of the newest attractions this year is a special wading pool that guests can walk through directly, extending through a winding path down a long hallway. With a sandy floor and waves that gently lap at their legs, it's a popular choice for those who wants to see creatures up close without doing a full dive.
For the most part, the pool is filled with starfish, harmless anemone, and the occasional small fish. But the pool comes with a warning. Don't touch the spiky anemone. But why? Of course someone is going to find this out the hard way, either by accidentally taking the wrong step, or curiously poking it.
The spikey anemone in the wading pool is actually a gentle ayakashi known as the anemonmon. Never attacking directly, these ayakashi will only cast their spells when stepped on, causing either feelings of intense anxiety and distress, or feelings of intense arousal, seemingly at random.
Why would they put such a thing in a wading pool?? Perhaps they put a bit too much faith into people reading the signs properly. Though this may explain why such a seemingly family-friendly exhibit has an age limit.
Greener Pastures

One of the most intriguing points of interest is the Botanical Garden. In addition to beautiful local plants, the garden boasts many exotic plants, including those previously thought to be impossible to raise in captivity.
Butterflies can be seen fluttering around, and while the inside of the garden is very warm, those sensitive to heat can borrow a cooling poncho with a magi-tech powered cooling device fixed inside of it to keep from overheating.
Plants of Temptation Itabashi, Tokyo
This summer features the opening of a new exhibit: an entire grove of wine fruit trees, specifically formulated to contain unique flavors. Thankfully, most of the fruit available is fresh, so the alcohol levels are low enough that one can enjoy as many flavors as they like!
There are a few basic flavors, including apple, strawberry, and watermelon, in addition to the classic grape-like flavor. Guests are welcome to pick them off the tree to taste test, and are even allowed to take the seeds home, which work as effective pain killers when chewed, no matter the ripeness of the fruit.
But those old enough to drink can select from a few fruit cocktails brewed using the fully ripened variety, which all contain a not-insignificant amount of alcohol. But among them, a suspiciously mild and floral variety is the most potent, with just a few sips required to put anyone flat on their ass. There's a reason they won't sell more than one glass of it to any one person.
However, those looking for something a bit more exciting should make their way over to the Nuruname Blooms. Carefully guarded by a well-trained samurai during the day, these plants are known for using their long, slimy buds to inject seeds into living creatures in order to incubate them. The samurai is there for your protection, not the plant's!
But the Gardens can't afford to pay a samurai to be there 24/7, and at certain times of the day, the nuruname is simply guarded by a strongly worded sign not to get too close. And while that may be a sufficient warning for visitors, it's not enough to stop the nuruname from hurling its vines across the barrier to try and drag some poor soul into its grasp. Looks like it grew a little faster than expected. The slime it produces is also a powerful aphrodisiac, but try not to have too much fun out there.
Cry Baby Itabashi, Tokyo
Plants aren't the only thing on display in the Botanical Garden. Isolated from the rest of the complex is a series of rooms housing plant-like ayakashi. Before entering these rooms, guests must be purified by a brief prayer given by a local monk, and affixed with a thin paper talisman on their forehead. Removing it will prevent them from being allowed to leave the area until they've walked back to the front and received a new one, in order to prevent any ayakashi curses from spreading.
After all, the very first enclosure houses an entire field of higanbana. As these flowers only grow in places where people have died, it begs the question of exactly how they got them here in the first place. However, there's a rather interesting trick at play here. The higanbana is only visible to those who have witnessed a person die. Those who haven't won't see them at all. Instead, they'll see the vast graveyard filled with stone markers hidden below the flowers, with an otherwise hidden plaque reading: "Dedicated to those who didn't survive to see the end of the time loop, and pledged their final year to the research of this facility. May their souls rest in peace." A bit grim, but a unique memorial all the same. But should there really be so many...?
Many of the next exhibits aren't too exciting. A Venus flytrap type ayakashi that gnaws on anything unlucky enough to sit next to it, a grass-like ayakashi that turns the ground acidic enough to melt metal, a distressingly stinky flower that manifests temporary synesthesia in anyone who stares at it for too long... okay, the tree that grows fruit that resembles laughing human heads is pretty wild.
But at the end of the exhibit lies an enclosure labeled "Unknown". Inside sits a singular boulder and nothing else. But the moment one turns away from it, they'll hear the sound of a woman crying and wailing for help in the distance. And yet, the source sounds as if coming from the stone itself. Attempting to listen to what the stone is saying won't bring any clarity, but it will cause the listener to begin crying profusely, overwhelmed by a feeling they won't be able to explain. Those who are affected are encouraged to leave as soon as possible, as the full effects of this ayakashi's curse are not known. What is known is that those who cry when listening to the screams of the yonaki-ishi will become more prone to crying whenever they become upset in the future. How long this effect lingers is also unknown.
OOC Notes
Welcome to Jikan's July event! Please direct any questions to the Question Thread in the OOC Plotting post.
• The slides can be as dangerous as you want them to be, but no fatalities, please! They don't have a great reputation for safety, but they're trying.
• Visitors are not allowed to retaliate against the lifeguards. Doing so will result in being removed from Itabashi Gardens all together. Splashing back doesn't count as retaliation.
• Feel free to get creative with what underwater wildlife exists in the aquarium! Siren jellies can be found swimming throughout, for example, but you're not limited to what exists on the Flora and Fauna page. However, due to their dangerous nature, any aquatic ayakashi such as Fukugyo will be kept in sealed tanks with no swimming access.
• If you are unsure whether your character would be able to afford basic amusement park entrance fees, you can assume someone at the NRL bought them a ticket!

Keigo "Hawks" Takami | My Hero Academia
Black and Blue and Bronze:
[ Hawks is most definitely around the pools and definitely taking that dangerous slide down, helmet covering wild choppy hair. Granted he doesn't really need it but he gets how important safety is. So he wears it even if he never even hits the wall. Instead at just the right moment his wings open and he's sent soaring into a loop in the air before landing on a nearby perch to laugh and watch as others may or may not take it as well as he did. ]
----
Have Fun Don't Drown:
[ From chilling in the lazy river to sitting by the bar, Hawks can be found enjoying himself.
At the bar it's easy to slip in next to him as he sits sipping a rather fruity looking drink. He's never really got the chance to drink more than champagne at some of the HPSC events. It's nice and sweet, and he really likes it. He might be drinking a bit too much but he's got a pretty good metabolism. It'll be fine.
Right? ]
----
Late Night Hot tubs!:
[ Of course who would he be if he didn't check out the nightlife of the place, specifically sneaking his way into the hot tubs late at night to relax while there weren't as many people there. It's quiet and he enjoys letting the hot water soak into his wings. Sure they'll take a while to dry but it just feels so good on his scars and tight muscles around the base of his wings. His posture is open and makes it obvious that he's more than happy to talk to anyone who comes up to him, even going so far as to shook a wink at people from time to time.
Why not? It wasn't like people around here knew him or knew anything about him really? He didn't have to be The Winged Hero: Hawks here....he could just be Keigo. It's actually kind of freeing. ]
⦾ Deep Blue Sea
Horny Sealife:
[ He had just been enjoying the sights, looking at the small creatures that swam around their feet and remembering going to the beach not far from his own home. It was nice! Of course...he's used to either flying or walking on concrete...sand isn't as sturdy. He doesn't mean to step on one of the anemone's that the sign clearly states not to touch. Hissing he makes to correct himself only to bump into someone. ]
Ack! Sorry buddy.
[ He's fine...right? Then why does he feel so warm? Did it suddenly get warmer in here? Also god he had only just accidently bumped someone, why did he feel like he might get yelled at any second now? This wasn't a feeling he had felt in so long, and honestly he doesn't like the anxiousness that ties his stomach in knots. ]
⦾ Greener Pastures
Plants of Temptation:
[ Weaving through a couple of the trees Hawks is happy to accept the fruit, eating it slowly to savor the interesting flavor. He'd never had something like it before but it's good. After a bit he finds himself looking at the drinks offered and is tempted to try the floral viarity...just to see what it's like? But it might be better not to try it alone.
Looking around he waves the first person who looks old enough down with a bright grin. ]
Hey! Wanna have a drink with me~?
----
Cry Baby:
[ Hawks had been exploring the area only to stop at somber looking place. The red flowers are so pretty, their beauty seems juxtapose to the grace markers and the solemn plaque with it's dedication engraved on it. Looking at the flowers he's reminded of spider lilies and their meaning.
Death.
That conjurers a couple different images in his mind but most prominently he sees the desperate face of someone he had once thought to call a friend. Wild grey eyes determined to take him down, determined to fight for what the man had believed in. Hawks doesn't even notice the tears that slid down his cheeks the longer he sat there. Sure he had done what he had to...but...that didn't mean it didn't hurt to think about. So he's just left there staring at the flowers, a distant sort of somber expression on his face. ]

Ah, no no, don't worry about it--are you okay though? You seemed a little surprised. The beaches here are so different, but in a good way... especially since it's so warm out it's refreshing.
[ He couldn't help but laugh a bit with a bright smile. ]
Thankfully I don't have to suffer with the call of the Mediterranean, could you imagine? Is it here? can I reach it...
[ No, but really... now he's thinking about it. Deep and hard for a moment before waving it off. ]

Black and Blue and Bronze (Nyuu)
She's drawn to the danger slide by all the screams and... were those the sounds of people hitting the wall??? She makes sure to stand a safe distance away to watch, unable to look away even though it seems painful. At least they're wearing helmets and seem to be capable of walking away on their own afterwards?
Except one man doesn't slam into the wall. And he actually has wings that are a striking red color! Both of Nyuu's hands fly up to cover her mouth as she watches the man fully extend his wings and land gracefully without a scratch. She soon makes her way over to him, but doesn't run (gotta mind the 'DO NOT RUN' signs).]
That was amazing! Did you get your wings from kizuna?

Alphen | Tales of Arise
[ Alphen takes the helmet when he's directed to, even if he knows he won't feel the pain he also understands that it doesn't mean that what happens won't cause damage. And he really doesn't want to have to get healing when he's trying to relax. Still he definitely checks out the dangerous slide, glad when he manages to catch himself on said wall.
He can only hope someone doesn't come shooting out after him because otherwise he'll be forced to try and catch them. Let's hope he's got fast enough reflexes. ]
--
Late Night Hot tubs:
[ Later that same night is when Alphen lets himself sink into one of the hot tubs, drink in hand, and just relaxes. If his eyes aren't closed in relaxation they're looking around at the various people around him. Sipping from his cocktail he's enjoying himself more than he thought he would. It's a lot quieter at night when only the adults are allowed out there, he definitely likes it. ]
--
Landshark:
[ Alphen is too busy admiring the large sharks that swim in the aquarium. They're so majestic, moving like blades through the water as they cut their paths. He doesn't even pay attention when he catches the dark shape from the corner of his vision, doesn't notice as his own shadow cast by some random light crosses over the dark shape in the water and the thing seems to move like it's attacking something.
He only notices because of the sudden pressure he feels, it's like a zuegle had clamped down on his arm and bit through his clothing straight into flesh. He knew that what ever it was should hurt but lucky for him that isn't a factor, however he knows that sensation and it should mean he was in trouble, however when he looks at his arm there's nothing there. No giant bite, no blood. It's only then that he catches sight of the shape as it disappeared around a bit of coral.
There's no way something from inside the aquarium could have bit him right? He's imagining things. Just like he must be imagining the tightness in his arm and the way it pulses like it should be a bad injury, something that would be causing him a LOT of pain were he to feel it.
Still there's nothing.
Curious. ]
--
Fruits of Temptation:
[ When he finds the orchard of wine fruit trees Alphen can't help but pick a few and find himself somewhere to sit and relax. Taking in the wonderful earthy aroma and nibbling on the sweet fruits happily. The shade makes everything just that much more perfect.
He may get up to grab a drink but for now he just wanted to relax. He can't help but wonder if he should save the seeds for Dohalim to use. Maybe he could plant them? ]
Fruits of Temptation
[having lost both Kisara and Law to the strange magic and timeloops of Nippon (and not trying to get too upset over it, considering that there were things the both of them needed to do still on Dahna), seeing Alphen was more than just a pleasant surprise. in fact, Dohalim was ecstatic to see the man, despite also noticing the mask half covering his face still; Dohalim made a mental note of it. there are things that maybe he should mention at a different time and place, if Alphen is willing to hear it. perhaps it would soften the blow coming from a friend rather than his memories coming to him in a rush. Dohalim has had his fair share of that here.
those are thoughts for another day.
having picked several different fruits himself, after conversing with the bartenders mixing the cocktails (and maybe gathering ideas for beverages to serve in the shop), Dohalim gracefully sits down by the other]

Landshark (Lucy)
But what was that strange looking shark? She squints through the glass, trying to make out any distinguishing features but it's as though the shark is cloaked by shadows. Her own shadow is stretching into the tank, not that Lucy pays any mind, even as the shadow shark swims towards it. The head of the kagewani snaps side to side erratically as though attacking her shadow.
Then Lucy felt the hot, searing pain in her arm alight, forcing her to her knees as she yelled out in pain. Yet when her eyes looked down at her arm, there wasn't any mark of a bite--not even a a little blood. Her gaze returned to the tank just in time to see the kagewani swim away to a place where she couldn't see it. Only then does she finally notice that she's not alone. Breath ragged, she shakily rises to her feet, holding her aching arm.]

Nimue : Cursed
Nimue has never in her life seen such things-not even from the Fey. Her eyes are huge as she wanders aimlessly, looking at the tubes and listening to the water. At first, she was startled by all the screaming, fearful that people were in danger. Now that she's gotten a closer look at things, the screams were of delight, not of terror.
People darted here and there, splashing in the refreshing water, soaking everything including Nimue as they ran past, bumping into her with their damp bodies. Finally, a smile breaks over her face and she allows herself the moment to really enjoy the happiness the other people have found here.
She has no idea what to do with herself in all of her clothes other than to keep walking, watching how everyone else plays as she remains a bit of a guardian observer.
no subject
Much like Nimue, she seemed to lack the appropriate clothing for the waterpark adventures, but was not deterred overmuch while running around barefoot, and sometimes even shifting the waves of water herself to assure fellow refugees didn't somehow end up drydocked.
Spotting the other woman during her own idle wanderings, Lioriley offered a friendly smile and a wave, the glowing lines coiled around her fingers leaving tiny wisps of neon blue flitting in the air. "Hello. Are you enjoying yourself?" She seemed...confused? But that could be for any reason.

Zhongli | Genshin Impact
[Zhongli would be lying if he said he'd found anything particularly taxing about being here in Nippon - even working with Hu Tao was, for the most part, a simple affair. As long as she didn't go too far off the rails, things always remained fairly comfortable and easy, and the former archon can't help but wonder if it would have been a little more simple if not for her position as the Hu of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.
Still, that doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy the possibility of taking a break - especially when that break is paid for by someone else. Even if water parks, as it turns out, aren't anything that terribly interests the man on principle of their existence.
Ah well.
All that means is he's easily found, wearing a pair of fancy sunglasses and settled on a chair nearby one of the pools. Somewhere or another, he's picked up a book, which is where most of his attention is. If one is to look, it's... a history book maybe? It certainly suggests as much by the title, anyway. He has a drink beside him, and if someone looks up Zhongli will be quick to lift his head and offer a mild smile and a nod of greeting.
Really, he couldn't be much more boring - he's just wearing a pair of long swim trunks and a half-buttoned shirt, not even water ready.]

Vael | Unholy Blood
[It'd taken some doing to convince himself to come here, what with Daniel needing to be looked after generally speaking. Even if he's in a state where he's safe from his life's end... it makes Vael nervous. Of course it does.
So it's not until halfway through his swim that he really starts to relax, and maybe that's just a case of the hot springs being... well, hot springs. They've burned him (figuratively, he got lucky last time) in the past, but this one has a side-showing of alcohol and the comfortable heat of steaming water to boot. After a few minutes of settling in he's even pretty sure there's no weird truth spells or aphrodisiacs or... whatever the hell else this place is so insistent on using, so he's comfortable enough getting drinks from one of the people bustling about giving them.
He's submerged enough that one can't tell much about what he's wearing, but his chest is completely bared, impressive musculature on display. Furthermore, as the drinks wear on and the faintest edge of tipsiness sets in (a pity, he sometimes thinks, that it's nigh impossible to actually get drunk anymore) he's more apt to offer a warm smile and beckon anyone who comes remotely near over to him.]

But finding a quieter, less public place to sit and relax is much more appealing than the screaming crowds of the waterpark. He's supposed to be having fun or something, relaxing far away from everyone else sounds like a blast to Asch.
He's about to find a quiet corner to enjoy a drink when he sees Vael, inviting him over. He hadn't seen the other man since the train, but the last two months have been . . . something. And he had enjoyed their conversation, even if it had veered in and out of darker topics. And y'know, Vael was dressed like a maid.

So it's a pleasant surprise when she does spot a familiar face; she perks up when she notices Vael, offering a wave in return before she adjusts the light shawl over her swimsuit, a drink in her other hand. ]
Evening, Vael. [ The words are accompanied by a smile, brief but warm all the same, as she closes the distance. And while she's not one to really pay attention to appearances, even she can admit his physique is... very impressive. She's a little surprised he hasn't attracted an admirer or two. ]
How've you been? [ At least this time they meet in a little less awkward circumstances, without a little army of leggy ghosts around their feet. ]
Edelgard von Hresvelg | Fire Emblem: Three Houses
[Having taken a dip in the gooey Chinoike Jigoku more than once, Edelgard actually found some benefit. With her scars lessened (yet many still present) she feels less inclined to hide herself as much and agrees to wear a swimsuit. Sure, her vivisection scar, battle scars, and many of the scars from the experimentation still remain, but just enough left that she feels less like a mangled horror dummy.
Though... she still cannot swim! Most will find her either wary to enter the water at all, or clinging to an animal shaped innertube like it's a lifeline. Help!!!]
II. Like a Fine Adrestian Wine
Oh, this is lovely!
[She wanted to know how well these wine fruits match up to Adrestia's alcohol, and truly it blows her home's vineyards out of the water. Since trying every flavor isn't really feasible, Edelgard will be amenable to sharing sips with anybody who shows interest. Though, if taste testing goes on like this, people might just have more than they were intending to. And there might be a chance at accidentally getting that one drink that throws you on your ass.
In fact, considering her chipper demeanor, it might be Edelgard who has that one.]
III. I've Seen Dead People
[Being an avid flower lover, her favorite being red carnations, Edelgard spends a lot of time in the botanical gardens. She'll spend most her time by the higanbana. Their image captivates her, and as someone who has seen and even cause many deaths it's no surprise she can see them. There's also a chance one might catch her off guard crying because of the yonaki-ishi.
Or maybe even catch her afterward crying because of dropped ice cream thanks to the prolonged effects of the "Unknown" exhibit.]
IV. Wildcard
[If none of these appeal to you, but you'd still like a thread with Edelgard, please hit up my plotting comment and we can discuss a scenario! I'd be willing to write a starter tailored to what we agree on.]
II. something hard
It's been a while since he last ran into Edelgard! The last he heard from her, he'd spotted her on the network asking to learn some new things. At least she was finding her way, one step at a time. It wasn't exactly how he pictured catching up, but there's worse places. ...far worse. In fact, this is actually a good spot! Finishing a watermelon cocktail off, finding it refreshing and not overtly fruity in comparison, he's more of a hard liquor person, but there's some strength to it.
When asked if he'd like anything else? Cloud's answer may come back and bite him. ]
Something harder.
[ Well then! In that case? Might they interest them in trying this milder tasting yet quite strong cocktail? The glass is only half-full in comparison to other fruity selections, albeit still a pretty color to look at and presented nicely. But that's because it's all one person needs. Cloud's in good spirits! Why not. His alcohol tolerance was quite high thanks to the Mako that keeps his senses sharp and his body enhanced. He can take it!
...
He thinks. ]
Well? [ Did she wanna try? ]

Wildcard - Gift Shop!
He knows enough about her insecurities about her scars and her past, so Troy decided to distract her a little bit by sharing his stories about some of the aquatic life in the aquarium. Stingray tails have an anti-magic property, sharks are easily scared off and actually enjoy belly rubs... He talks about swimming with whale sharks and how they're some of the most gentle creatures in the sea. Next thing they know, they find themselves at the gift shop at the end of the hall where Troy gives Edelgard a break from his talking.
Troy found a whole pile of plush toys and immediately felt a lightbulb in his head switch on. He couldn't help but smile as he picks up one he thought most suit her - a shark. It's quite large, so it's comical to think that someone so small like Edelgard hugging it. So while she's busy not looking his way, he buys it. Just as Edelgard arrives, Troy takes the shark from the cashier and glancing briefly over his shoulder at her. ]

Chang Wufei | Gundam Wing | OTA
Being handed a helmet before getting on the water slide should've been a red flag, but Wufei had strapped it onto his head and hopped into the tube. He was small and light, and at the end of the slide he was going entirely too fast -- so much so that he overshot the landing pool and slammed into the opposite wall. He'd had the good sense and reflexes to stop himself from face-planting into the wall, instead angling to hit his side, which meant he was thankfully not concussed.
But he was bruised from shoulder to ankle, and his first thought when his head cleared enough to have them was that Duo was going to kill him. He groaned loudly, looking down at the blooming bruises, and sighed heavily as he trudged off in search of his boyfriend, and hoping that he'd have the chance to explain before getting scolded. He was even limping, and wishing he'd brought his magi-tech or that salve he'd stumbled upon a week ago that would've healed the bruises right up.
II. Don't Drown
Night has fallen, and Wufei has settled himself into one of the hot tubs, having a nice, strong drink and sinking low in the water. The heat helps with the bruises he has down one of his sides, and the alcohol is helping him forget some of the events earlier in the day -- like not having learned his lesson about certain suspiciously-shaped plants.
"This was an excellent idea," he says, mostly to himself, as the buzz starts to kick in. He probably shouldn't be drinking so much, but he's got a lot of free time in this place, and not a lot to do with it, and drinking would get him into much less trouble than fighting would.
III. Cry Baby
Wufei has made his way through the exhibit, and steps into the 'unknown' one. The sound hits him like a brick and he's immediately tense, running past the boulder only to stop in his tracks, turning to stare at it. Immediately, he's struck with emotion, closing a hand over his mouth as the tears well up and begin to fall. He's encouraged to leave, of course, but he can't get himself to move, just standing there and weeping as he stares at the ayakashi.
Black and Blue and Bronze
He's about to turn and run from this scandalous place when movement from one particular bronze tube catches his eyes. He gasps as a boy about his age is thrown straight into a wall! "Aiyah!"
Hurrying over to the young man, he asks, "Are you okay? Would you allow me to help you to a chair?"

Akechi Mitsuhide | Ikemen Sengoku
First Impression
For the most part, since his arrival to this world, Mitsuhide has mainly been observing others and trying to get a better grip on this new reality he had found himself in. As a result, other than the few occasions where he performed an odd job to get some money, he really hadn't been out much.
Well, that changed today when he heard about the water park and decided to venture out to see what it was about. He was quite amused when he saw that most people were practically naked. Though he suppose it was better than swimming in a light kimono. So he went about getting his own board shorts and started exploring the park.
Lazy River
So far, the attraction that appealed to him the most was the lazy river. The other attractions seemed fine, with the exception of the one slide that required riders to wear a helmet, but the river seemed perfect for those who just wanted to relax just by floating along inner tubes.
Though there did seem were some elements that did seem to make the river a bit more interesting. Like every now and then, he would pass a cave opening where he will hear a yelp of surprise from other swimmers who had wandered in. This gave him an idea for a bit of mischief.
"My, I wonder what is going on in that cave. Mind taking a look for me?" He said just before shoving the other person in the inner tube closest to him towards the cave.
Deep Blue Sea
Horny Sealife
As Mitsuhide approached the wading pool, he frowned a bit when he noticed the sign about the anemone.
"Either the anemones are poisonous or they're very fragile. If so, why would they put them in an area where people will be walking through?" It seemed quite irresponsible of the aquarium to put such animals in this pool. Perhaps there was something more to it than he hadn't quite figured out yet.
With a shrug he stepped in, keeping an eye out for those spikey creatures, and waiting to see what would happen if another visiter happened to touch them.
Greener Pastures
Well, Mitsuhide wasn't one to turn down a drink. Though the flavor was completely lost to him, thanks to his sense of taste severely lacking, he did find the scent of the current cocktail that he was drinking to be quite pleasant.
He leaned back in his chair as he sipped at the drink obviously relaxing, but he wouldn't turn anyone away if they wanted to join him.
Lazy River (Nyuu)
Eh? Wah!
[There was nothing she could do as she was shoved toward the cave and the current going through it caught her inner tube. It was dark, but she could hear the echoes of other people as they yelped or even laughed.]
Nyuu!
[She shrieks out her old catchphrase as soon as she feels the first heavy bucket of water come crashing down on her little head. It doesn't stop either. It's just barrage after barrage and all her shrieks and screams can be clearly heard from the outside.
Should Mistuhide be waiting on the other side of the cave, her inner tube comes floating out by itself with Nyuu nowhere in sight.]

Ah— it's a bar? At least, from the looks of it, it is one! It's in the middle of the water, which means when Ayaka heads on over? She's floating on a pink flamingo, kicking at the water while she's afloat. The objective is to just check the place out, since she doesn't believe she's seen this attraction before, but that was only because she and Cloud were here during the day! To her surprise, she finds a familiar face seated at the bar. ]
Good evening. [ She stops pedaling now, letting the flamingo floatie sway with the water until it calms. ] I haven't seen you in a while.

Sylvando | Dragon Quest XI
Yeah, no, Sylv wasn't about to risk life and limb on those waterslides. Enthusiasm in the pursuit of fun was one thing, recklessness was another. And he had a career to think about; he couldn't very well perform with a broken leg, after all.
But the 'lazy river' as they called it? That was lovely. So relaxing! And it got even better when he realized it led to a swim-up bar with some fabulously colorful drinks. But which one to choose though? The menu made them all sound so tempting...
Maybe he should ask the opinion of someone who already had one? "Excuse me, darling," he said to the person next to him, "but does that drink you're having taste as good as it looks?"
Deep Blue Sea
"Ooh, this is wonderful!", Sylv said through his breathing device as he swam along with the tour group. "It's almost like being back in Nautica again!" Which made him wonder how the undersea kingdom was faring after Yggdrasil's fall, but he pulled his mind firmly away from that notion before he had time to dwell on it. This was supposed to be a fun excursion, after all.
It did spawn a related thought though. "Hmm... come to think of it, I wonder if Gaia has any merpeople? I've never really heard of any sea-dwelling yokai or anything similar, after all. Have you, darling?" The last was said directly to the person swimming beside him. Hopefully they'd been able to split their attention enough between him and the tour guide to know what it was he'd said before that.
Greener Pastures
Sylvando wandered the paths among the flowers and plants, eating a mild watermelon-flavored winefruit. It really was good; he'd been told he could take the seeds with him, so maybe he could try his hand at planting a few? There was a little garden available for general use by the residents behind his apartment building after all...
For now though, it was a time to stop and smell the roses. Literally, as he paused in front of a large, well-kept bush of... "Are those rainbow-colored roses?", he asked excitedly to anyone within earshot as he leaned in closer to get a better look at the blossoms. Each was different, but they were shot through with swirls of red, blue, purple, yellow, orange, and green in seemingly random patterns. "They are! Ooh, they're so pretty! But how did they get them to grow like that? And maybe more importantly, do they sell seeds for rosebushes like this in the gift shop?"
Wildcard
(OOC: Want to meet Sylv somewhere else around the resort, maybe for a meal or some swimsuit shopping? Go for it! He can be found anywhere but the waterslides.)

Seeing a waterslide where you needed a helmet to cushion your head when getting fired out the bottom? Did a good job in getting them to go "nope" to that.
Yet as he peruses the names of various slides from the bottom of various stairways, having just gotten out of the wave pool, today the acerbic swordsman didn't really have a choice as he was suddenly caught being herded up the stairs by a random big group of locals. And he couldn't get around them without causing a scene, his weak little protests of "Hey!" or "Lemme down." fell on deaf ears. By the time he was a quarter of the way up the stairs leading to the new horizontally looping slide, he shakes his head and mutters in resignation. ]
Hell with it.
[ Fine. Just one time. It's not that he thinks they can't be cool? He just...wasn't really up for them yet. One gets trust issues after seeing some poor shmuck skip across the water and go helmet first into the wall. They were fine. Probably. This was gonna be fine!
...
Probably.
Coincidentally, he's the first one up the stairs after there was a very short lull in riders, so when he's signaled to approach and swing on down the waterslide? He didn't see who went down before him. Gripping the handlebars tight, he takes a deep breath before exhaling, preparing to shoot on through so he can get this over with. Truth be told, this was...actually Cloud's first real waterslide experience. So!
3...2...1...! GO! Silently, he launches himself down the slide, building momentum as he can barely see up ahead as leans back, water splashing up and over him as he blasts through the pipe. Most enthusiastic rider ever. Woo. It's all happening so fast that he can't really think of anything else but just getting through the other side when he's got plenty of speed going around the top of the horizontal loop when suddenly— ]
!!
[ Someone's in front of him, and it's too dark to really tell who it is as he realizes he's about to go feet first into them and practically kick them on ahead. Scrambling to sit upright, he spreads his legs out of reflex before suddenly yelling with a ringing: ]
SHIT—!
[ He doesn't know how he's caught this person. But they're decisively smaller than he is as he catches them, pressed up against and between his legs as they prepare to start sliding down the second half of the loop, and the rest of the way towards the end.
Oops? Lifeguard? The hell? ]
