Oh. He supposed that made sense actually. It was logical and rational, something he responded to quite well. Sizhui's eyes darted side to side like he was reading a scroll. Or searching for the right question.

"...Wei-qianbei, the hole is rather...small. How do you...?" Make it bigger.

Wuxian lifted a hand and wiggled his fingers.

"You lubricate your fingers and use them to, uh, loosen the entrance." Or they could use sex toys, but that might be a little much to discuss at the moment.

Those dark eyes lifted, saw the wiggling fingers, and immediately went back to the table. Bad idea. Don't look at Wei Wuxian's visuals.

"Loosen..." He pondered for a second then realized something. "You put your...fingers in there?"

"Mmhmm."

He paused, poking at his noodles but no longer bothering to eat them.

"You start with one. It will feel a little strange at first, especially the first few times. But as you, or your partner, begin to relax it will feel better. Once that happens, you can add another."

Logically, he tried to understand how this was working. Why it would work that way. But soon it clicked. Oh right. It was a ring of muscle. Like with other practices the muscle was capable of stretching and relaxing.

"Doing this will allow...it...to fit?

"That's right. It will always be snug, but it will fit."

He could feel his cheeks getting red.

"You'll learn how much preparation you and your partner need. It varies from person to person based on things like their ability to relax their body and their partner's size."

He didn't even know which of them was going to be the one...filling the other. He guessed that when he and Jingyi were ready for that they would have to figure that out. It was going to be such an embarrassing conversation...

And then he thought of something very suddenly that made him forget to be flustered. A realization. "Wei-qianbei...you are the one who gets penetrated."

Thank goodness he wasn't eating or he might have choked. His soul was barely able to stay in his body!

"...Yes...?"

It made sense! How his father would know that with the right preparation how good it would feel. And that it would, in fact, fight. Not to mention that it would fit snuggly.

He considered all this a moment longer. Using rational thought was very much helping him to process this better and without as much embarrassment. Such was his nature. "...It is like Hanguang-jun is a sword and you are a sheathe. I am not sure what I am."

"You don't have to be just one. Some people prefer one role over the other, but some like both equally." He's been inside Lan Zhan once. No need to paint that mental picture for Sizhui, though. "You don't have to rush to learn what you like, either. If you feel like something isn't right, you can always stop."

"We have only kissed so far." No. That was a lie. A complete lie. "...Well, I have been on his...lap. When we were in our inner robes and wet from the Cold Springs. But I was very drunk, Wei-qianbei."

"Lan Zhan was very drunk our first time," he shared with a little huff. "We were out for a picnic and I think the wine was too strong for him." A little frown bowed his lips. "I was terrible to him. He confessed his feelings and I wasn't even sure I could feel the same way. Don't be like me."

He shook his head at that. And he looked dead serious as he looked at his father. "I don't think I could ever be like that, Wei-qianbei. I am not one to be in the practice of denying my clear feelings for another."

[diabolique]

"Good. You and Jingyi both deserve that. Even if there comes a time when you are uncertain about your feelings, talk about them. If I've learned anything, it's that communication is the foundation for a strong relationship. Any kind of relationship."

"It is good that you were able to learn that. It was not always your strong point." Even when he first met him it wasn't. He remembered well the incident of the ghost cure. And there being no warning to how spicy and bad it would really be.

Feeling better now, Sizhui finally managed a smile. "I apologize for the awkwardness of these questions. But I'm grateful you were willing to answer them."

"Lan Zhan can help answer them too, if more come up." He's not going to mention that Lan Wangji studied how sex between men works whereas Wei Wuxian had no clue at all when he agreed to it.

"Also," he added, lifting a finger and trying to look sage. "If you and Jingyi need someplace to, ah, fool around, I can make sure me and Lan Zhan are out of the house for a while to give you some privacy."

Sizhui's cheeks burned again. That was a very kind offer. To be able to get them oil and to give them space as well. It was all so much.

"I don't know when we'll...do that. We've only just admitted our feelings to each other. It seems so much so soon." Would Jingyi want to try right away? He truly had no idea. Though he supposed they'd have to talk about it at some point.

He couldn't help smiling. "Take your time, Sizhui. There's no rush to do anything you don't feel ready to do."

"I do really love him. I think I'll have to discuss it with him to find out what makes him comfortable." That seemed the right and fair thing to do. That way they could both be on the same page. He would just have to find the right moment.

[diabolique]

"That's the right way to go about it. There could be things you both decide you don't like or that don't interest you and you'll only find out by communicating." Then he paused and his expression warmed. "I'm very happy for you, Sizhui. Jingyi is a good person."

Sizhui smiled so fondly at the compliment for his chosen partner. With a nod, he agreed with his father. How could he not when he thought so highly of Jingyi? "He's wonderful. I've always admired him so much. Even at times when I've scolded him I've wished I could be a little more like him too."

"I bet he feels the same about you." He nodded, thinking about how, at times, having more of Lan Wangji's calm could've prevented some sticky situations in the past. "I think," he mused more to himself than to Sizhui, "it's hard to have a deep love without admiration, too."

Thinking about that a moment, he realized what wisdom there was in that observation. If you couldn't admire the one you loved in some way then could you really love them? Sizhui laughed a little then gave a nod. As usual he was coming out of this conversation delighted he has spoken to the man. "You are right. I hope I can continue to live up to whatever admiration he has."

"You will."

Wei Wuxian had no doubts. Sizhui and Jingyi were the best boys he knew. They complemented each other well in terms of interests and personality. He could definitely see them growing into a very happy couple.
