October Catch-all --a little early.

[Jiang Cheng, post qi deviation]

Once Cheng was strong enough to move around for more than ten minutes, he started trekking over to his friends houses to see how they were doing and to thank them for their help and apologize for causing so much trouble. With every friend he visited, he offered a fruit basket. If he thought cutting them would last, he would have.

He comes to the next home, takes a breath and then schools his face for a pleasant smile before knocking. All he had to do now was wait to be answered. Cheng fervently hoped that their relationship hadn't been ruined by the recent events.



[Jiang Cheng, Onsen]

Once he had recovered, he wanted to do ... something. Anything. He was tired of sitting in the house, tired of people hovering over him, worried about what he would do, if he would relapse. He just needed to get out of the house and relax a bit.

The best way he knew how was the Onsen. The incense was nice, the sound of water was soothing and Cheng was looking forward to relaxing, pampering himself with some expensive cleansers, and let the stress of the past three weeks drain out of him.



[Kinn, by the wharf]

Despite gathering evidence that overall, the place was relatively safe, Kinn still wanted to be prepared. So he made his way to the wharf where many had said one could find rare items, hoping he would find a seller who may have more than just information about firearms.

As he strolled through the allies, he walked with confidence as if he owned the place. His clothing was neat but not necessarily anything that would scream he was rich or in the wrong place. And as he walked, he considered the things he would change in the place. A floating market, some different variations in the market-maybe something foreign in terms of imports?

Evidently, he couldn't completely dismiss the mafia in him.

"What's the most impressive place you've seen?"

Having an idea as a gift in the future wasn't a bad thing at all. A sketch book with pencils would probably be decent for Riley.

He thought about that for a moment, looking up at the sky while he really considered that question. The most impressive place that he'd seen before. Humming, he tilted his head side to side then nodded when he decided.

"Giant's Causeway. It's in Ireland."

"Never been," he responded after a minute. "What's it like?"

In his head, he's thinking of the giant heads on Easter Island. Did Ireland have something similar?

"So it's on the coast of Northern Ireland. And when you go there it's like a tone of clustered columns have been all brought together. To the point where it's like giant stairs. It happened after a volcanic eruption and now you can go and walk and climb all over them."

Riley tried making hand gestures to describe what he was remembering in his head. "Along the way you can even find stones that look like huge boots. Or columns that stack like chimneys."

"Makes sense," he admits after a time of thought. "The place looks like giants abandoned it, then."

"Exactly. And the best part about it is how nature made all of that. None of it is man-made. Amazing, right? That nature could create something that looks like it was built?" Okay now he was itching to show him what it looked like. Shoving the last bite of the sweet bun into his mouth he told Kinn to wait for him then suddenly ran off. Because he could get a pen and paper easy. He was sure of it.

Never mind that he had no idea Kinn was sticking so close to him to protect him right now. Oops.

"Riley!" Goddamnit. He abandons the meal, not that there was much left of it, and darts off to follow. "Where the hell are you going?"

The jog is easy as well as it is to dodge the people milling about. He's very accustomed to slipping through crowds should he need to. It's easier brandishing a gun, but whatever.

Ducking into a building, he quickly requested what he needed and offered payment for it. He wasn't really thinking about this being a dangerous place at all. He was just smiling as he was given some paper and a pen. Which he was about to bring back to Kinn when he just about ran into the man at the door.

Blinking he stared at him. "Oh hi. You followed?"

Kinn had to stop short before he ran right into Riley. "Yes, I followed you! Did you forget where you were?"

He lamented that he didn't have a GPS tracker here. He would tag Riley in an instant.

"The wharf."

The scary place with all the potentially dangerous people. Something like that. It wasn't really that big a deal as far as he could tell. He'd been here awhile without anything happening to him.

"I just went to get something so I could draw for you."

"I know. But this place isn't safe."

Apparently, Kinn had a greater sense of self-preservation than Riley in things non-Fae. "What if something happened to you on my watch?"

Riley blinked up at him then shifted a little bit. He hadn't really meant to scare Kinn. Honestly he hadn't been thinking at all. He probably should have been.

"Sorry. I'll be more careful and wait for you to be with me."

Kinn merely sighs, touching the top of Riley's head gently. "It's done. Now, what were you racing off here to show me?"

He dipped his head a bit at the touch but then held up the paper and pen that he'd gathered. "I got what I needed to sketch the cliffs for you so you can see what they look like."

His hand immediately went to his side. "I see. So, why don't you show me?" They could get back to their table and hopefully the remnants of their food was still there.

Perking up right away, he smiled at the man and nodded. But this time he stayed close to Kinn to let him keep him safe. "I could probably draw you too if you let me."

"You want to draw me?" He... really never had a portrait of him done like that. Had he ever considered it? Maybe it wouldn't be a bad thing. Something to leave around in case Porsche showed up and ... something happened to him.

"Alright. I'd be okay with that."

"Yeah. It'd be fun." He honestly figured that Kinn would politely brush him off and then they'd move on. He'd sketch the landmark and that would be that. But then the man gave his permission and he blinked at him in surprise.

"Really? You don't mind? I'll do you justice, I swear."

"I don't mind. I already said yes, didn't I?" It was time to get them out of there. If they were going to do something that required him to pull the attention off his environment, he needed to be somewhere else. "Why don't we find a different back drop for this portrait, hn?"

"Sure, sure. Wherever you wanna go." Because Kinn was worried about him and he'd learned that he should stick with them man to avoid making him worry. Since that was the case he could basically glue himself to him and go anywhere he wanted. "It's your picture so you can decide what you where you want it to be."

"I appreciate that." Because the sooner Riley adapted to that, the easier it would be. Kinn proceeds to lead them out of the ~Danger Zone~ and head back to some of the other parks. Nothing seemed to be hitting Kinn-mostly because it wasn't home. "Well, there's my temporary quarters or...something around here?"

"If that's what you want! I honestly think one of the parks would be nice. You'd look really cool with nature around you." But he was going wherever Kinn wanted because that was what he said he'd do. It was just that Riley only semi had any kind of a filter on him so he just sort of spewed out his thoughts without thinking much about it.

"You're the artist, not I. Pick a spot you think will work." He didn't care where they did this portrait drawing. They were out of immediate danger now so that's what mattered the most.

Did his face light up? You bet it did. Riley could think of the perfect spot for them to go. Rich with nature and also soothing. "There's a little river spot at one of the parks. What you think of that? I think it'll be perfect for you."

He'll go along with it. What else can he do around here?

"Sure. But you're not going to put me in one of those fancy Napoleon poses, are you?" And promptly, he shoves a hand into his shirt and pretends to look 'regal.'
