Lan Jingyi
[Kizuna traits- Jingyi has a small streak of pink in his hair, his eyes turn a shiny emerald green color whenever he's around Jiang Cheng and a light blue whenever he's around Sizhui. New additions: Jingyi now has pale blonde ears and tail of a labrador.]

Wen Qing
[Kizuna traits- Wen Qing is slowly getting more noticeable owl feathers in her hair.]

Ye Baiyi
[Kizuna traits- Baiyi can and does usually hide this, but his chest/ abdomen is covered in thick, white bear fur. He's just gained a small, white nub of a tail too, but he also hides that.]

Tay
[Kizuna traits- Tay has cute cat ears, one white and one black, and a white, long-haired cat tail with black patches.]

"A-Ley..." he withholds a sigh - barely - and glances at Baiyi, "I am tired of this distance."

Overtired. Exhausted by it.

"A-Yi is blunt; that is part of his nature. I do not mind it since it tells me exactly where I stand with him." he rests his hands in his lap, "Manners come with practice, but they can also hide someone's true intentions. He sought to make sure you weren't going to accidentally drink alcohol. His intentions were good."

Now... Onto the other side.

"A-Ley wants you to believe in him, A-Yi. I know what happened to Rong Xuan and I know you mourn him and you fear something similar happening to us. But this world is safer, in its own way, and we have ways to stay in contact that we never had before." his voice softens, "Please give each other a chance. One bad night, filled with misunderstandings, shouldn't shatter this."

"Hey!" Baiyi glares at the young man. Fortunately, Xie starts talking. Xie quickly reminds him of how this is effecting the young scorpion and prevents him from saying or doing anything else that might make this worse.

He huffs grumpily. "It wasn't alcohol I was concerned with. I've been told these festivals frequently serve food and drink tainted with uki or some mind altering magic." Pause. "But what are you needing me to do Ley'er?"

This time he looked over at Baiyi and he looked positively offended. What was he needing? What was he needing him to do? He'd literally told him what he needed and the man had flat out refused him. He'd treated him like a child and tried to control his life. Though he knew that this was hurting Xie, he couldn't stop the pain from appearing on his face.

"You know what I need. You won't give it to me. I'm your boyfriend. Your lover. But you can't even give me trust. And your default is to be rude and offensive in order to protect me. I don't need a guardian or a bodyguard. I need a partner who is going to have faith in me. But you can't even do that."

He looked away again, bringing his legs up to wrap his arms around them. "Sorry for making you tired, Xie. That doesn't give him the right to think he can force the world to bend to him."

Riley hasn't been around ambitious men - in comparison to someone like Zhao Jing, Ye Baiyi is a breath of fresh air. Even so, Xie understands what Riley wants. It's something that he has often desired, too, but thought an impossibility.

"I have faith in both of you." he states flatly, "A-Ley, I love your kindness; I love how you accept me. And A-Yi, I love your strength, your wisdom and how you care about not just me, but A-Ley too. It's not as if you both don't care for one another. Why would you love someone you can't trust? Trust has always been there."

"It's not that I won't, it's that I'm having a hard time doing what you are asking for," Baiyi says after thinking about what both of the young men said. "And you aren't making it any easier with how you've been acting."

He looks over at Riley. "I trust you in many ways, so it's not accurate to say I don't trust you."

"The way I've been acting? You mean spending time with people who love, respect, and trust me? Who have never once tried to control me and tell me I'm not capable of taking care of myself? Who don't rush to conclusions to punish me before hearing the whole story?"

He narrowed his eyes at Baiyi. Because how dare he just foist this entirely on him. Especially when he had every right to act the way he was. "I need you to trust me and my feelings. I need you to love me so much that you believe in me and don't need to interrogate everyone I know. I may not know all that happened to you because you won't share with me. But that doesn't give you the right to control me. I won't let the Fae do it and I won't let my own boyfriend do it either."

"Because of Rong Xuan." he adds quietly, hoping to encourage Baiyi to speak about his past a little. Then he falls silent, his heart aching at what Riley asks of not just Baiyi, but him too. It brings into perspective...so many things.

"I'm sorry, A-Ley." he whispers, leaning in to kiss Riley's cheek, "You came to me in the hospital... You've helped me with every problem I told you about. Not once have you shied away. I'm sorry if I made you feel like you are lesser. If anything, I've relied on you."

"When have I punished you Ley'er? I've never touched you in any way meant to hurt you."

Baiyi looks at Xie with a frown. He thinks about his disciple, but there's some additional reluctance to open up after his harsh conversation with the other immortal. Still.. if the young men were needing it..

"Those to me aren't the same. My feelings toward you and my faith in the world are very different things. When you've lost someone as close to you as a child, you may understand- though I hope you never experience it." He sighs and scoots so the three of them are sitting more in a triangle instead of a row with Xie in between them.

"My role as the eldest and strongest in this family is to take care of and protect you and Xie'er. I am treating you with respect and love."

"Not everything is like how you were raised. You should be my equal and I yours. You shouldn't get to tell me how to live my life and scold me for dishonoring people without listening to me first. You never had to raise a hand to me, Baiyi. Your words did enough."

Huffing, he refused to look at Baiyi. But he did at least appreciate the words from Xie. Because it was all true. He'd given and given and given and given so much. Why was it so fair that he do that but not be given the same in return?

"Someone who respects and loves me can trust me. Believe in me that I can take care of myself and have for six years. It might be sexy when you top me in bed but not when you control my life or tell me how I should live it. Especially not when you're going to refuse to listen to me. You lived in isolation for decades right? What do you know of how the world is supposed to work now?"
