⌛ Who: Riley, Gaura, Silvio, Runyu, Pete, and you! ⌛ What: Open prompts for the month as well as some closed stuff for planned things ⌛ When: Throughout January ⌛ Where: Various Locations ⌛ Warnings: Will add warnings as needed
Locations Found (Note that he is not available during the first week of the month): - Pete's: He runs this bar with his husband Vegas (and his best friend Porsche also works there) over in Yokohama. - Yokohama: Because his family is building up a "reputation" with the crime family here you can bet he's in this area a lot doing supply runs and so on. Shady stuff. But he'll keep it under wraps if someone comes along. - Buddhist Temple: It's rare that he's here (it's rare to find a Buddhist temple too) but he likes to come now and then to pay his respects. And maybe check things out for Kinn.
What did you do when you got assigned to do a gun run for a shady person? Especially one that was honestly just a quick run? Why, you'd bring your best friend to come with you. Who else could you possibly trust with something like this? Okay sure his husband yes. But honestly Pete just wanted to spend some quality time with Porsche. Alone.
The fact that he'd get some info for Kinn along the way was just a bonus.
So, shotgun in its bag and strapped over his shoulder, he grinned at his friend as he saw him coming over to him. "You ready to head out? Should be an easy run today."
Porsche slipped the full magazine into place then gave the glock a final check over. Thank god for whatever magic or powers that be or whatever it was called but attending the New Year's Eve party with Kinn had resulted in his preferred firearm being gifted to him. It was a damned sight better than the period pieces that'd been found before. Not that he would have complained if that had been all that was available.
All that was missing was a shoulder holster but that would be an easy thing to fix. There had to be leatherworkers around that could work something up for him. Till then, the back of the pants it was.
"Ready," he answered with his usual grin. "We'll be back in no time."
"We honestly probably don't even need to be armed but I prefer safe than sorry."
Leading the way out, Pete turned them down the path toward the Port. They had to go pick up the shipment they were bringing to the spot first but that wouldn't take long. He'd been told place was empty save for a couple crates. Between the two of them? They'd handle that easily.
"Nice to see you with your gun again, by the way."
Porsche laughed as they walked. "Yeah, go to a party and get a random gift? Not that I need a reason to party but this is definitely a welcome incentive."
As Pete knew his way inside and out around the area, Porsche obviously let him lead the way. That wasn't to say he wasn't paying attention though. He noted this shop or that, building a sense of direction for the area. To be sure there were some significant differences between this place and Bangkok. But when it came down to it, the docks were largely the same regardless of the city.
"You know, if I were superstitious, I would worry that you've jinxed this little errand by saying we probably don't need to be armed," Porsche teased with a grin.
"You're not superstitious? Are you sure, I'm-scared-of-ghosts-and-visit-temples-for-protection?"
He hadn't been there for a lot of that but he'd sure heard about it. And hearing about it had been a lot of the fun. Grinning at him, he gave his friend a nudge because it was fun teasing him.
"Even if I did jinx us I know we'll get out of it because we are armed."
Giving his friend a half-hearted glare, which he promptly ruined by laughing a little, Porsche shrugged. "Yeah, yeah. Ghosts are different from inviting bad luck. And that's a fair point," he finished referencing the fact that they were carrying.
Nodding towards the weapon Pete carried, he went on. "So how does that work?" He felt like he was still playing an extreme game of catch up but with family and friends, Porsche wasn't worried that he'd be left to flounder. That simply wasn't how they did things.
"It works a lot like a regular shotgun. However it doesn't need to be reloaded and runs on the bonds I've created. The shells it fires also turn the color of whatever mood I'm in. For a bonus it can't hurt the people I have a bond with. It can only knock them out. It doesn't matter who uses it. It's tied to my bonds."
And it had really come in handy a few months ago when Tay had been here. To protect him but also to take out the gang who had thought they could just hurt him. Not on his watch. Not when he could fight back. That was for damn sure.
"Serious?" To say that he was incredibly impressed was a major understatement. "That's the sort of firearms available around here? What is the durability of it? Like, can you only use it for so long then it has to recharge? Or does it weaken the bond like drawing on a battery charge?"
In a rare moment of regret, Porsche considered that he might actually benefit from cracking a book and learning more about this place and all the possibilities. Then the moment passed and his mind returned to the idea of magic weapons. "What other effects can be applied? Flaming swords like in video games?"
"You can't go buy them. Apparently the scientists make them and hand them out randomly. But I've tested it and even fought with it and it works. I can't say I know what other effects they can have but it never needs to recharge."
Which was really nice. Pete then went on to elaborate further. "They seem to make magic katana too. If I remember right, Riley has one. You'll have to ask him more about it though."

"Basically it's a magic gun."
