Plus, it would make what was about to happen even easier. While Porsche was thrilled to have his gun once again, it was clear that it could only help to have a wider range of martial skills. Those he'd learned under Chan's tutelage weren't inadequate but there was always room to expand one's repertoire. In that vein, Jiang Wanyin had agreed to give Porsche a crash course in sword fighting.
Tapping on the other man's door with the handle of one of the wooden swords, he called out, "Good morning. Today's sword day!" He was all but bouncing on the balls of his feet in excitement.

He had friends here, which was an interesting novelty for him. They weren't servants and they weren't his disciples but they were willing to learn from him. And some-if he dare admit it to himself- would be more than friends to him. As each day passed, he wondered if all that was keeping him was his own demons whispering poisons in his head.
Porsche was not one of those prospects. He was a friend, young, eager, and willing to learn. When he learned that Cheng knew of the sword, he had jumped at the chance to be taught and Cheng was willing to teach him. At the knock on the door, he rose from his seat and pulled the two swords he had in his possession, unable to hide the smirk on his face as Porsche all but bouncing out of his own shoes in eagerness.
"Good morning, Porsche-xiong," he greeted amicably but with less bouncy enthusiasm. "Are we training in the courtyard or in the large assembly building?" Warehouse was still a foreign term and since the building had enough room for an onsen and play area and shooting area (for metal projectiles, not bows), in Cheng's head that translated to a pavilion that was meant for large gatherings and celebrations.

"The word you're looking for is warehouse. And we can if you want. It'll be more private I think. If we work out in the courtyard we might draw a crowd. And that wouldn't bother me. But I'm also not the teacher here. So whatever works best for beginner sword lessons."
Glancing down he looked at the swords in Jiang Wanyin's hands then at his wooden ones and laughed. "Yeah so I didn't know if you had extras or anything. And I saw in an anime once where students started with wooden ones."

"But to truly understand the balance and movement, wood cannot teach you that."

A man with dragon features seemed to find it all very amusing as he listened from where he was seated enjoying some tea. On his lap? A tiny fluffy black dog. His blue eyes caught sight of a young man who appeared to be listening to all the rumors too and he smiled at him.
"I could show you the deer if it interests you."

In this instance he was completely taken with the idea of a deer of apparently magical origin. He was about to ask a question or two when his attention was drawn to another. For a moment his gaze flicked between the dragonesque person and those speaking before. In the end the offer was far too tempting to ignore.
"It does indeed interest me. Such a creature must surely be a wonder to behold."
no subject
"The creature is mine actually. It's currently enjoying a nap under some trees over here. It's called a Dream Beast."
no subject
"A dream beast?" He paused to think for a moment. "Then bubbles with the images. Are those dreams?" Oh how he wished that they were. To capture such things in little bubbles? Or perhaps they were ways to look in on those one cared about? Or those that the dream beast cared about?

Which honestly was very endearing so he could hardly fault people for finding it to be charming. He certainly found it amusing. "It's a gentle creature who can be seen as a protector of our dreams."
