Since it would take a few hours for Zack to arrive to Kyoto, Genesis used that time to mentally prepare himself for the inevitable. He also picked Before Sunrise for the nice atmosphere it provided. He didn't know the owner well, but he was a good bartender and Genesis always enjoyed the different drinks he made. The lack of being able to get drunk probably helped as well. Still, even if he couldn't enjoy inebriation, he could enjoy the drink.

If he ere honest with himself, he wasn't quite sure how to bring any of this up. The conversation about LOVELESS was just a pretense, after all. But, he already had a certain conversation with Sephiroth (twice now, because of the shenanigans of this place) so he may as well buck up and endure. So, once he saw the former SOLDIER walk in, he held up his drink to get Zack's attention. Even if he hadn't, the soft glow of mako wasn't hard to miss in a place lowly lit like this.

Of all the conversations he's due to have, one with Genesis might be the easiest. That isn't to say that talking to the older man will be easy - it's still so strange to just sit down and speak with Genesis when the chance never came around before. In fact, Zack wouldn't have considered it an option until closer to the end and by then, it would have been too late. Between Banora and his own desire to get back to Midgar . . . yeah, it wouldn't have happened.

Now - hell, Zack's taking an hours-long trip to have drinks with him. For all that he still doesn't know what to consider Genesis - former superior? Former enemy? Friend?? - there's no rush figuring that out. In the end, it will always come down to the one commonality and that's Angeal.

He might come here often, but when he arrives Zack still pauses at the counter to greet the bartender like he's there all the time. He's quick to order a drink - I'll have what he's having - and once he has it, comes over to slip into the seat across from Genesis with a faint grin.

"Hope I didn't keep you waiting long."
