A stag is standing in the middle of Xichen's home, looking quizzical - if stags can translate such a feeling to a human, that is. This is Lan Wangji's first time in his full form and he isn't sure about any of it. Part of his brain is panicking - thus the snorting and pawing - but he also feels...free.

It is likely unsurprising that, even as a deer, he is a handsome one. His fur is pale - almost gold - and there is a great ruff of fuzz around his neck in a slightly darker shade. He is also quite careful where he puts his hooves, so Xichen needn't worry about damage.

Just confusion.

Finding a stag in the middle of the Unclean Realm is not the most common thing. But considering that shade of fur...and familiar eyes and antlers...as well as the familiar scent the dragon is picking up, Xichen calmly approaches. But he also pulls out his xiao and plays for the poor confused creature, offering him a song of calm and reassurance.

Once he's reasonably sure the stag won't stampede, he dismisses Liebing and smiles gently at his little brother. "The first full transformation was a shock for me as well, didi."

It's best if they both aren't panicking; Wangji hadn't meant to transform! He had just come over for tea and then, well, he had felt this urge that needed answering. Now his slender legs are shaky and he isn't sure he can move. The sound of the xiao helps him to center himself - to breathe - and his furry chest puffs out as he inhales.

Okay. Better. He tries to take a step and finds that he can, his head lowering to nudge his nose against Xichen's chest.

It's an urge Xichen had missed, having woken up to the full transformation. But he could imagine it being a shock.

He smiles proudly at his brother's efforts to calm and center himself, and rubs a gentle hand over that proud head when Wangji nudges his nose to Xichen's chest.

"Would you be interested in a run outside? I can follow from above."

Xichen has a special effect on Wangji. He always has. His eyes close momentarily under the gentle touch - he has many good memories of that hand helping him and guiding him. Why should this new adventure be any different?

Snorting his approval, he bobs his head and walks to the door, waiting for Xichen to open it and join him. He peeks over his shoulder, likely looking much cuter than he intends.

Xichen loves his little brother. And he's proud of the man he's become.

He struggles to hold the laugh back at that adorable peek and simply moves after the handsome stag. Opening the door, he steps out of the way so Wangji can get outside. A few meditative breaths later and there's a sleek dragon in the man's place. He nudges his brother's nose affectionately before taking to the air, sleek body undulating lazily as he pushes past the pain of the transformation.

The love is mutual and Wangji looks up to Xichen. He is also incredibly protective of him - as a stag would be with his herd.

Ducking his head, he walks outside and gives his furry body a nice shake. Then he watches Xichen in wonder, ears perked. The touch of their noses earns a tail wag and then Wangji is running underneath his dragon brother, keeping pace with him.

And it's wonderful.
