1 Doctor + 1 Jealous BF + 3 Gangsters = ?
⌛ Who: Wen Qing, Jiang Cheng, and the Kinnporsche boys
⌛ What: Getting Vegas out of the hospital and bringing them to her house
⌛ When: Evening of Oct 3
⌛ Where: Hospital + Wen Qing's house
⌛ Warnings: A lot of growly boys probably, but will update as needed
It's getting dark outside when Wen Qing arrives at the hospital with Jiang Cheng in tow. She has a leather bag full of medical supplies strapped over one shoulder as they head toward the room Kinn told her. The building makes her uncomfortable, but she doesn't let it show.
She knocks on her patient's door and bows to whoever answers it.

Grabbing the first thing he could find, the tray from the food earlier, he crept his way to the door. It wasn't much but it could slow someone down if they were dangerous. Opening it up though he saw a woman and a man.
"Uhhhh...hi?"
no subject
"If you wish to contact Khun Kinn directly to verify my story, we will wait."
no subject
"Excuse me. I'm going to call up Khun Kinn first. Thank you." And he quickly shut the door in their faces. Breathing out, he grabbed the device he was given and called up Kinn now that he had his contact information thanks to Vegas. As soon as he heard the line connect he started speaking.
"There's a woman here who claims she's a doctor sent by you. Can we trust her, Khun Kinn?"
no subject
Cheng, in turn, looked to Wen Qing, arching a brow. "How...trustworthy are these people?" he murmured low, not certain he likes this idea. If they were this paranoid, what was going to happen to her in the house?
no subject
She looks up at Jiang Cheng when he spoke up. “I don’t know them. I’ve met one man, Kinn, once when he arrived.”
no subject
Hanging up then, he took a deep breath...
And remembered he had a 'weapon' still in his hand. Quickly scurrying to the table, he set it aside like he'd never had it then fixed his hair and clothes before opening the door again. "Thank you for coming. I'm Pete and the man in the bed is Vegas. Let me go wake him up because he'll take this better coming from me."
And then, yes, he gave her another bow. If Kinn said she should be respected like the family he knew just what to do.
no subject
Vegas doesn't take his suspicious eyes off them.
"Pete, what's going on?"
no subject
"This is Wen Qing and her friend Jiang Cheng. She's a doctor and they're here to help us get you out of here and somewhere more comfortable where you'll be in her care. I already checked with Khun Kinn and she's respected by the family," he said that part very carefully to try and give Vegas the hint to be good. And then he smiled and leaned down to kiss his hand.
"I'm going to be with you the whole way."
no subject
He turned to Qing, still keeping the other two in his line of sight. "We didn't bring a litter if he can't walk out of here."
no subject
Vegas relaxed by degrees, gripping Pete's hand like it was a lifeline. Without a weapon, in this condition, there was no way Vegas could defend himself. Or Pete. Not that Pete needed defending. He might not seem it, but the man was hyper-competent. Vegas had to rely on him now. And Kinn's kindness, goddammit.
His eyes darted to Pete and he shook his head. "I don't think I can walk very far."
no subject
She reaches out and puts a hand on his arm. "A-Cheng," she whispers softly. "Would you go find one of those chairs on wheels?"
Stepping closer, she address the other two. "We won't have you walk, Khun Vegas. Would you allow me to check on your condition?"
no subject
Still, he didn't let go of the hand that he was holding, knowing Vegas needed him to be okay with any of this.
"Thank. We're grateful for your help. And for getting Vegas somewhere more comfortable." Them somewhere more comfortable really because he was not going to leave the man's side for anything.
no subject
Cheng's looking for a while, probably long enough for the other three to get cozy and a little more comfortable.

Quietly, she takes him by the hand upstairs to her bedroom where they could talk privately. Shutting the door behind Cheng, she draws a seal on the door to keep in any sound. As before, there's a soft hint of old ashes in the room but she picks up a stick of calming incense and lights it.
"Are you alright?" She finally asks when that's set and she can turn her focus back to the sect leader.
no subject
"Yes?" Why would she ask if he was alright? He wasn't the one who was injured or had just what seemed to be blithely take in three strangers off the street, just because one was hurt. "Why wouldn't I be alright?"
no subject
"Because you were growling at the hospital and you just took their leader aside," she explains as patiently as she can. "Clearly you're upset and we haven't had a chance to talk about it until now."
no subject
"I wanted to make certain you were safe while you tend to the man. The man who was so gravely injured, it makes me wonder what happened to facilitate that."
no subject
"A-Cheng.. I'm a doctor. I take people in who need care. I did it for you and I did it for Song-doazhang. I don't care what happened to cause those wounds. It was clearly a fight of some kind, but it's none of my business."
She sighs and comes over to sit next to him on the bed. "Besides, it's just me here. If others can use the space, what reason do I have not to offer it?"
no subject
How Wen Qing uses her space was her business. He had no say in it in the least.
no subject
If that means filling up this house with strangers so it doesn't feel so lonely and quiet, that's what she will do. She tries for a smile. "I don't mean to keep you. You've already helped so much tonight."
no subject
Cheng turns, looking at the floor before him. "But over time, it became more a prison. Or.. more like a golden cage. Pretty, but still confining." He shrugs a bit. "I don't want to trap myself like that, again. Logically, I doubt anyone else would do such a thing, conscious or unconscious, but I don't want to take that chance, either."
It was probably cowardly, but he wanted to protect himself as best as he can.
no subject
Still, she's just frustrated enough and tired enough to give that another push- even though she realizes it's probably a bad idea. "A-Cheng, I'm not Nie Huaisang. You're the one with the key. You're the one choosing which side of the door you're on if you lock it."
She stands and steps away from him, giving him the space he seems to want. Or perhaps, it's what she needs to protect herself. "I have no say."
no subject
But her words? They cut. He had thought they were progressing forward! Cheng had no confidence in this department and what little he had built had been so easily shattered by someone who was no longer here. But it looked like Wen Qing wasn't interested in that. It felt too much like before when she returned the comb to him and didn't want the protection or help he could provide. And why would she? There were two capable men now with a third she could take care of. There was no reason to have Cheng around anymore. He had already dropped everything, made certain she had the proper supplies for her charges-there was no reason to keep him around if he wasn't 'putting out.'
Right. Not like Nie Huaisang at all. He wished things could have returned to a few days prior before all these idiots showed up. He had thought things were changing, hoping for something that...He guessed he was just being hopeful again.
If anything, he still had his pride and wrapped that around him like a mantle. He stood up gracefully, looking in her direction but not at her. "My apologies for keeping you. I've monopolized your time."
He bowed, still not looking directly at her. "You are strong and capable. I know these men are in good hands. Rest well, Wen Qing."
No need to stop him. He knows his way out.
no subject
"You're the most frustrating person I've ever met!" She snaps. "I don't know what you want from me! I've never done this before with anyone. I want you to ask me what I want too and to hear me when I say I'm not trying to push you to do anything. I'm doing my best to say the opposite. I want you to tell me what you really think and for you to care what I think."
no subject
He lifted his arms and then let them flop against his sides. "You say you're not pushing, but then you're snapping. I dropped everything to make certain you had this place ready for three strange men because you asked; you're a doctor, and a damn good one, and that one guy needs your help. I want to make certain you're safe in their presence and I'm the one with the jealous streak. Because I growled." Damn this kizuna magic! He could feel himself get upset with every breath he took, his mind spinning wildly.
"You want me, but then you don't. I tell you I'm not ready, that I'm afraid of the same shit happening again and then I'm frustrating because I'm not meeting your expectations? Please, please tell me what your expectations are, but I will not be another bed warmer. I want someone who likes me, and I will assure you I am not a likable person at all. Ever. I love two people and ..." His anger fades just a bit, the realization of what he just said dawning on him. "And they don't want me for who I am. How can I be jealous? I love two people." Cheng's lip trembled as he repeated the statement, not understanding why he still felt this unbalanced. Was it because of his core or something else?
He opened his mouth to say something else but stopped, not knowing what he wants to say after all that. "My problems are my own. You didn't cause them. But you sure as hell take them personally."
