1 Doctor + 1 Jealous BF + 3 Gangsters = ?
⌛ Who: Wen Qing, Jiang Cheng, and the Kinnporsche boys
⌛ What: Getting Vegas out of the hospital and bringing them to her house
⌛ When: Evening of Oct 3
⌛ Where: Hospital + Wen Qing's house
⌛ Warnings: A lot of growly boys probably, but will update as needed
It's getting dark outside when Wen Qing arrives at the hospital with Jiang Cheng in tow. She has a leather bag full of medical supplies strapped over one shoulder as they head toward the room Kinn told her. The building makes her uncomfortable, but she doesn't let it show.
She knocks on her patient's door and bows to whoever answers it.

Most of the maneuvering Vegas was handled by Pete while Kinn appeared to be helpful in setting up the futon and keeping the chair steady so that the injured man could be moved. And he was so quiet, not knowing what to say at first. The reunion was more awkward than he thought it would be. "It is good to see you two again," he offers, moving the chair to one corner once he could.

Vegas didn't complain during the whole process of moving only because Pete was doing the bulk of the manual labor in handling him. He took small, shuffling steps from the chair to the futon and grunted like an old man when he was lowered onto it. Note to self: don't get shot like this again.
Once Vegas was lying down, he stared at the ceiling a moment before turning to look at his cousin. "We should talk. Tomorrow. I'm tired."

Lastly, she sets a pot of water on the stove to start some dinner for them.

"It's good to see you too, Khun Kinn." He paused then edited that because the stress was finally passing. "Kinn. Get some rest. I'll watch over Vegas."
As if he'd be anywhere else but his side right now.

“I can help, if you like.” He’s not the greatest cook, but he can assist in piecing something together. “Once I speak with your companion. He looked like he wanted a conversation.”
Kinn knew jealousy when he saw it and it was time he at least tried to tamp down that concern this Wanyin seemed to have.

"Help me sit up, Pete."
Whatever the others are doing, he's sure the doctor will be back soon with all sorts of doctor things: medicines and examinations. And Vegas just wants to sleep. This whole escape exhausted him.

She might have words with Cheng later about all of this.
While she waits for him to come back, she adds some honey to the teacups and eventually gets a tray together for everyone.

"After she's done you can sleep and I'll watch over you," he promised him quietly, fingers running through his hair to keep him calm.

Maybe he was in the way of all this.
Wen Qing only remembered him from the time when he was at his most volatile. These strangers were just that. They didn't know him. He didn't know them. At the very least, one of them was going to speak to him, which was a relief. He wanted to be at least aware of what was going on.
He leaves with Kinn to go talk and it's probably a good fifteen minutes before either of them returns.
( phone tag )
“This place is weird.” Then, “How long have you been here, Pete?”

She clears her throat in the doorway to alert them and goes to set it down near Vegas' bed. "This will have a bitter taste, but drink the herbs," she advices. "You as well, Khun Pete. I know you've all had a trying day."
"How are you feeling?" She carefully touches Vegas' forehead with her two fingers like before.

But he couldn't discuss more because the doctor came in. So he made sure he was supporting Vegas completely while staying out of her way. Nodding that he'd drink the tea and make sure that Vegas did too, he gently rubbed his hand over one of the man's arms to soothe him.
He was here for him. He wasn't going anywhere.

Vegas turned his focus to Wen Qing and nodded in greeting when she came in. She won't find any sign of fever, that's been long gone along with the immediate danger. All the moving from the hospital to the new lodgings left him feeling exhausted and aching.
"Tired," he admitted. "A little sore."
no subject
She looks to Pete and gives him a gentle warning. "You should eat too. You won't do him any good if you neglect your own wellbeing while you are helping him."
"If either of you need anything else tonight, I'm in the first room on the left at the top of the stairs. That door over there is a private bathroom."
Unless they say they need anything else, she'll go back to the kitchen to wait for Cheng and Kinn to come back.

Sure she didn't know about his years as a bodyguard but he understood what was required of him far better than most ever would in this situation.
Once she was gone, he pressed a kiss to Vegas' hair. "Let's get that tea in you then you can sleep as long as you want to."
no subject
He took the tea and made a face at it. He wasn't much of a tea drinker, but at least Wen Qing warned them it would be bitter. "Hey, Pete? Can you do me a favor?"
no subject
"What is it?"

The look on his face said he regretted those words as soon as they came out. Hadn't he promised Pete that he was no longer just a pet?
"Shit! I didn't mean..."
no subject
"I know I'm not your pet. I can still be your good boy though."

Now he's just horny, dammit. He drew the cup to his lips to hide whatever change his expression made. Though knowing Pete, it was probably too late. He probably saw and recognized Vegas' expression for exactly what it was.
