Maglor July catchall
⌛ Who: Maglor & whoever!
⌛ What: Maglor got a music box that broadcasts his thoughts. He doesn't know this. Yet. Also just general July things.
⌛ When: all though July
⌛ Where: all over
⌛ Warnings: depending on who tags him and what they ask, topics may delve dark
Music Box: Thoughts Edition
See, here's the thing about Maglor. His thoughts are noisy. His family could have mentioned how 99% of the time he was composing in his youth - this has not, in fact, gotten any better as he's gotten older - it's just that the 1% not dedicated to music got LOUD.
So it's a toss up if the music box tunes in to his thoughts if one is going to get a sudden jangle of whatever composition he's working on at the moment (it might sound like a cacophony of noise, or something very close to the most perfect symphony you've ever heard, depending) or just random rambling streams of thoughts.
He's surprisingly paternal, if you listen to his thoughts. There's a lot of worrying over... pretty much everyone.
Music Box: Memories Edition
The memories that the box picks vary - you might run into him staring fondly at the image of a large, noisy family doing all sorts of things from playing to crafting to fighting to just existing, to brilliant great light sources that happen to look a bit like trees, to beautiful cities that look like paintings, to much darker memories - lonely shores, fire and war, long tiring nights guarding those behind him, all the way to softly sad memories - dark haired twins in a cold castle.
He'll talk about any of them, if asked, but probably won't notice any watchers to discuss them without being prompted.
Soul Artifact
".............we don't have to do this, if you don't want to."
He's very not sure if he WANTS to know what his soul artifact is. But this is what they've been asked to do so...
(It's a harp. Just a harp. His shoulders will drop in relief when it is revealed - clearly, he was expecting something else. But when the strings are touched... Something like grief will cross his face. )
Trial of Promise
"You cannot leave until you..." He reads out slowly, in the dim cave his glow is striking, especially since there's no other source of light barring the words on the wall.
"...Ah." He sighs, unhappily.
Trial of Devotion
He eyes the mountain and wonders aloud, "Do you think they mind if we cheat? I wonder if I can put them to sleep?"
Alternatively, he could just fight his way up. The odds are better than many times in his past.
"What do you think?"
Trial of Love
He waits only until the rules are announced before stating, very calmly; "That's fine. I'll just break mine."
What is such pain after all, compared to all the pain he has already had in his life?
He'll immediately move to smash the harp on any available surface unless stopped.

"I am rude? You just called me plebian!"
"He has done well for himself here. I am so very proud of the man he has become."
no subject
"Well you're the one who started it~" He grins and gentles at the thought of Elrond.
"He really has. As he has done at home, too. I do hope... that you will be able to see him in Valinor, one day."
no subject
"And I'll finish it too~" If he's going to be childish he might as well go all the way.
"He has grown into such an amazing person. I'll try... though I know the journey will be long and hard. Hopefully we will both be there to greet you when you make your own way there... if you succeed in your own struggles."
no subject
"So mean." He laments cheerfully.
"I will do my best, Nelyo. Elrond has asked the same... I will try."
no subject
"Am not~" He's one of the nicer ones in this family, thank you very much.
"Good... we'll both do our best then. He deserves at least that much from us, doesn't he?."
no subject
"Oh no, I'm not getting in to one of those arguments with you!"
This is true, but the bar, it is low....
"He does, yes. I wish... I had tried less hard to hide from him, now."
no subject
"I'll graciously accept your surrender then!" He exclaims happily.
Every little bit counts in this family and he'll see being slightly above that bar as a win.
"We all have regrets about what we did then, Kano. I would have wished you had gone to them but... I understand why you didn't."
no subject
"Bah, I thought you were supposed to be the adult?"
Maglor turns a little to lean and cuddle, relying on the kizuna to help.
"I think I could face him now. But then... " Then, he'd been in no state to face anyone.
no subject
He leans into it as well, offering whatever comfort he could.
"It was still to raw back then, I think. The hurt to recent for you to let it go enough to go to him." He understood that better than most people.
no subject
"I hurt him." He says mournfully. "I will do better now."
no subject
"We both did... and I hurt you as well." He'd thought Maglor would be better off without him when he made his decision. "We both will."
no subject
"And pigs fly, older brother!"
He looks away briefly. "You did." He acknowledges in a small voice. "But you were hurting badly, and I did not see, so I hurt you too."
no subject
He kisses the top of his brothers head. "I know, you don't need to forgive me for it. I know you love me, as I love you as well, but that doesn't mean you need to forgive me for everything." It hurt a bit to admit that, but it was true. His brother had a right to feel hurt and angry at what he did, or tried to do from his perspective. "I kept it from you. I could have told you I was hurting, instead I made a choice that hurt you just as much as I did"
no subject
"Well... I suppose it's possible..." There is so much weird in this place, after all. Why not flying pigs?
He turns to cling, briefly, a little too tight. "You're here now." It's all he wanted, after all, and more than enough to forgive him.
"And I should have noticed irregardless."
no subject
"We might need to find a new saying for that, you know? Just so you don't accidentaly get contradicted by a flying porcine."
He doesn't mind. His brother can cling to him as long and as tightly as he feels he needs to. "I am, and I won't leave you again. Not by my own volition." And he'd do all in his power not to be taken from him against his will either.
"I've already promised Elrond, but I'll make that promise to you as well. I won't try to deal with my hurts all on my own any longer, if I start to feel worse I'll let you know. And I'll trust you if you think I am... at risk of doing something similarly foolish again."
no subject
"That's something I never thought I'd need to do..."
He huffs softly. "I won't hold you to that! I don't.... please don't hurt yourself for me. But thank you, Nelyo. I promise I will try and trust you more."
no subject
"You know... if there are flying pigs around here there are a lot of things you'll have to walk back on~"
"I'll try." He can promise that much at least. "I'd rather trust you. I'm not... entirely sure I trust myself any longer."
no subject
"I trust you." He says gently. "Even if it's only to make terrible jokes. But I believe you, Nelyo. I will try and pay attention too."
no subject
"Someone has to." He says. "Eru knows the rest of you aren't making any! Jokes aside though, I do appreciate your trust. I'll try to live up to it..."
no subject
"I know, Nelyo." He smiles at him. "Here, we're home. I'll just grab a shirt, yes?"
no subject
"You do that, I'll wait out here while you get it."
no subject
"There we go! Now shall we find some place to have a drink?"
no subject
"I think that would be a good idea. Something to drink and eat would probably do us both some good."
no subject
"I found a teashop the other day with cakes that I am almost entirely certain is safe!"
no subject
"Then that's where we'll go. I am starting to get a little hungry actually and it would probably be good for you to eat something as well."
