He'd woken up to a strange but minor pain he couldn't identify. It lingers and he's not used to feeling something like this, but there are more important things to deal with. Namely, he can't find Xie Wang. It was odd given how the young man had been as glued to his side as a loyal hound the last week or so. It was also annoying, since that meant no breakfast. Fortunately, he knew where he could go that also had good food.

Like he has since he arrived, he shows up at the Four Seasons Manor and walks through the door like he owns the place. "Zhou Zishu? Brat?" He calls, making his way to the kitchen.

"The only cause I need is because I choose to do it," Ye Baiyi tosses back. He's like a lion with a thorn in his paw today. "Who are you and what are you doing here in the Four Seasons Manor?"

Why had Zhou Zishu taken in so many strays? With so many here, he's more glad to have gotten a house elsewhere. Though that just reminds him of the metaphorical thorn.

"Who are you and why do you storm through the house of the masters of the Four Seasons Manor?"

Wen Kexing had become a friend of his. For some reason. He truly did not fully understand all of it but none of that mattered in the long run. What did matter was that he was now protective of him as a result and he did not know this man who dared to storm onto this property.

"I'm Ye Baiyi." Like.. that should explain everything. "I'm looking for the idiots who are the masters of the Four Seasons Manor. Have they risen yet?" It was late enough he thought Wen Kexing should at least be up, but sometimes Zhou Zishu slept in.

Though, that was due to his injuries that he doesn't have here. It's a relief, at least.

"Now are you going to answer my question or stand there wasting more of my time?"

"I am Xue Qianxun and I live here. So I will protect the masters of the manor since one is my friend and the other is his spouse."

His expression hadn't changed even a little bit. One would almost thing he was more a moving statue than a living and breathing being. But he paid that no mind as he stared at the other man. "What is your business with the masters here?"

He scoffs at that idea. "Protect them from me?" That is a rich joke right there. He doubts this man could stop him if he was so inclined, but it's also ridiculous that he's being questioned like this from a complete nobody.

"I met a dog earlier who also lives here. It's no more your business what I'm here to discuss than it is hers." Although they may not want to let Wen Kexing near a dog. He's heard stories..

"Yes. I will protect them both from you if you do not tell me your business here."

This was stronger than an average mortal. He could be sure of that. However, the Lord of Luo Feng had no doubts that he could handle him whatever his actual strength happened to be. Especially until he could be clear of his intentions.

This could be leading somewhere ill advised. As much as it offended Ye Baiyi that his loyalties were being questioned like this, he wasn't as sure of his strength as he normally was.

"Why don't you make yourself useful and go fetch them for me? Tell them not to keep their Elder waiting. You will see once you give Zhou Zishu my name he'll come hurrying out here to greet me."

Rather than do exactly that, he remained standing in place. Wasting the man's time as it were. Because he did not intend to walk away to do as he was told. For matter of pride as well as the fact that it would mean leaving this man here. Alone. There was no way he could trust him to not do something when left alone.

He could wait for his answer.

Also it didn't help that he didn't know Zhou Zishu at all. Only that he existed and was married to the one who was actually his friend...Wen Kexing.

"Are you always this rude to a friend's ancestor? At the very least, you should be offering to be hospitable on their behave until they arrive. Did your master raise you so poorly?" He scolds.

He holds out his hand and brings his palm up. The motion sends a shockwave of force at the other man in an attempt to knock him out of the way.

This man was skilled. However, Xue Qianxun was far from impressed. The force came his way and then was negated by a wall of blue energy that appeared before him. All without him lifting a finger to summon it. Hand motions good be good for control but were not always necessary at his power levels.

"I am not friends with Zhou Zishu. I have never met him. He is only under my protection because he is married to Wen Kexing who is my friend. If you continue with violence without telling me your purpose here then I will use force."

Baiyi scowls at not getting to watch this irritating man go flying off to the side. He wonders if this is a sign of the strange illness or if the other man is just that powerful. Either way, his face shows a bit of weariness and a hand is brought briefly to the center of his chest. He forces the small signs of weakness away.

At the words, he rolls his eyes. "You're one of his people. That explains the disrespect."

He looks toward the kitchen and sighs. "I won't tell you my purpose being here because it's none of your business. It's personal news for them only. Even if it wasn't, I will not be treated this way by you or any other. However, I am not an enemy of theirs. I consider Zhou Zishu family and.. he comes with the other idiot." There's a touch of fondness even though he's calling Wen Kexing names.

"So relent and let me wait for them in the kitchen or do what you must. I'm not scared of you."

His eyes went straight to that hand. This man was ill in some way. Dying? Difficult to tell unless he were to have a closer look. Something he had no intention of doing in that moment.

What he also noticed was that he got a better explanation of why this man was here. It did not excuse the rudeness but it did mean that he could allow him to pass at the very least. Watching him calmly, he considered this a moment longer.

"I am my own person. With that said, you have finally provided explanation for why you are here. I will permit you to proceed with what you came here for."

There aren't words to describe how annoyed Ye Baiyi is in this moment. If he wasn't questioning his strength right now, he absolutely would've taught this asshole a lesson. He still might when he's feeling better.

"He has a type. Don't think of yourself as so special," he sasses back.

He harrumphs at the 'permission'. If he needed any more reason not to want to stay in this manor, this would've been it. He doesn't look to see if the man follows him or not, but he goes directly to the kitchen for liquor or tea.

He had no idea what that was even supposed to mean. Someone had a type? That made no sense to him at all. Confused by the words and why that would change the status of how special he was, he ended up shaking his head before continuing on his way as he'd intended before.

He could ask Kexing about it later.
