Tay said drinks were on him when all that madness in the Western Kingdom was over. Vegas wasn't about to forget that. There was a lot to celebrate, after all! Vegas and Pete eloped, Tay survived, they were all reunited, they had some solid plans for the future. They may not be able to find a club in the way Tay would like, but if the night turned into a bar crawl, would any of them complain? Wherever they landed, Vegas was sure to be buying the most expensive drinks on the menu since he's not paying.

The place had music -- nothing like they're used to, but at least it had music. Which would make for an interesting night as the longer they're out and the more champagne Vegas drinks, the more likely he is to try to drag the others into dancing (especially Pete). It may not be what they're used to, but they can still have a good time, right?

If that keeps him off the dance floor, he's more than happy to do so! Bringing to drinks around (one alcohol for him and the other not for his little brother,) Kinn goes to sit with Riley. "Did m--our cousin ply you with all this candy? Should I be concerned about you being sugared up? We'll be able to walk you home safely, right?"

"I actually don't get sugar highs! I'm not sure if that's a Fae thing or not but I never have. I could eat it all day and nothing bad will happen." Riley offered him some of the candy. "I came and got asked what I like so I said sweets and I just keep being offered candy! It's pretty great!"

He grinned as he popped what looked like a caramel piece into his mouth.

"I know one bad thing," Kinn drawls, taking the sweet and unwraps the cellophane. "Cavities. Though, honestly, there are times the sugar isn't necessary, with you like this."

There's a smile as he finally takes in the candy. Yep. Sweet. Just like his brother.

"Oh right. I forgot about cavities. I've never actually had one."

Huh. He wondered if that was a Fae thing or not. Like maybe his body was just rapidly healing itself somehow. He honestly couldn't be sure but that was okay. He got to enjoy his favorite thing without the consequences and that was the best!

"What? Are you saying I'm sweeter than sugar?" Riley grinned at him.

Chewing, he turns back to Riley with his eyes smiling. He doesn't speak until he swallows. "Maybe! Like I said. I'm going to get cavities."

And with his grin, he nudges Riley gently. "So do you have a favorite candy or is it, 'if it's sweet, it's my favorite'."

"I do love candy in general as long as it's sweet. So instead of flavor I got for texture. My favorites are the ones where you get to the center and they're super gooey."

He looked around until he found one that he'd eaten earlier that was like that. Picking it up, he held it up to show Kinn. "Like this. It starts off harder but as you suck and chew on it you get to the center and it's like a flavor explosion as you find the soft center."

Interested, he perks up a bit, taking the candy. "You do have an interesting take on sweets."

He pops that bit in his mouth and waits. "So you like surprises, then."

"Good surprises anyway. Bad surprises are terrible. But the good ones just make life more interesting even when they're little ones like discovering the gooey center of a candy."

And he'd always been taught to appreciate all the little things around him. But after being on the run he'd come to value them so much more. They gave him so much life. "Do you like them when they're fun ones?"

"Sometimes. It's not easy when usually your surprises are not good. Habit trains you to anticipate the worse." He pauses as he finally reaches the gooey center. "Wild cherry?"

"That makes sense. You've lived a life where surprises are more likely to be bad than good so you're more prepared that direction." He couldn't blame him for that. He wondered if he'd be the same if he'd been raised that way too.

But back to good ones, he smiled and nodded. "Yeah. It really tastes like cherry too!"

"Where do you find these?" He hasn't had candy like this in a very long time.

"Well most of these were handed to me. Mostly because I think people didn't want me to be sad since I wasn't going to be drinking too." Which he honestly appreciated even if he wasn't going to be sad. It was the thought that counted! "But I know a bunch of different places in both kingdoms. When you're me one of the first things you do in a new places is hunt down all the places that sell sweets and books!"

He would have to remember about the sweets. Maybe he would have the chance to show someone else where they are, one day. "You'll have to take me to the sweets shops so I can remember where they are."

"Sure! I've even got a whole route that always takes me past a sweet shop no matter what I'm going out to do." Because of course he did. "I've even got it figured out for candy or pastries too. And I know where the ice cream vendor is too!"

"If Porsche ever shows up here, I will go straight to you for date ideas." Kinn has already come to the conclusion that should he need dating ideas, Riley was the go to for that event.

"Sure! I'll give you guys the best route to take so you can hit up all kinds of fun things together." Those two deserved to have adventures like that together. More than that he was sure Kinn would have even more fun exploring the city with Porsche there at his side. "I can even draw you a map when the time comes so you'll know right where everything is."

Heh. When the time comes. Kinn smiles. "Ever the hopeful one, you are."

"Have you met me? I'm a beckon of optimism." Riley gave him a smug grin and sat up even straighter as if to show that very fact off.

There's a soft chuckle of amusement from him. "Good. The world needs more of that."

"I'll make sure to keep providing!"

If nothing else it made him happy too. Bringing others some light when things were dark made him feel good. He knew how hard it could be to get through hard times, after all. Sometimes you just needed a reminder that there was good out there.
