Tay said drinks were on him when all that madness in the Western Kingdom was over. Vegas wasn't about to forget that. There was a lot to celebrate, after all! Vegas and Pete eloped, Tay survived, they were all reunited, they had some solid plans for the future. They may not be able to find a club in the way Tay would like, but if the night turned into a bar crawl, would any of them complain? Wherever they landed, Vegas was sure to be buying the most expensive drinks on the menu since he's not paying.

The place had music -- nothing like they're used to, but at least it had music. Which would make for an interesting night as the longer they're out and the more champagne Vegas drinks, the more likely he is to try to drag the others into dancing (especially Pete). It may not be what they're used to, but they can still have a good time, right?

"You mean like how your tail wags whenever you look at Gaura?"

Pete grinned at his new friend. He was well aware of how flustered Henry was about to get over the discovery but seriously the opening was too good.

"What?"

Henry craned his neck to look at the traitor behind him and did his best to try to grab at it... which may or may not have left him walking in a circle for a moment. Like a dog chasing his own tail.

Pete burst out laughing at the sight of it. A grown and dignified man chasing his own tail. It was hilarious.

"It's fine, it's fine! You're going to fall over if you keep that up!"

"Traitor!" he hissed over his shoulder to his tail!

"Your face would be a giveaway even if you didn't have a tail. You look like a schoolgirl with her first crush every time you look at him." It was honestly so cute. Pete loved seeing that amount of love all over Henry's face.

Henry frowns a little and his ears droop slightly. "It's not my first," he insisted with a tiny pout.

"I didn't say it was," Pete playfully pointed out, equally amused that Henry hadn't denied looking like a schoolgirl with a crush at the same time.

"You should see the way you look at your husband!"

"I bet it's so much worse. And then we get really gross when he comes and gropes my ass and makes out with me in front of everyone." It was bold to say that but Pete figured it would be fun to fluster his friend just a little bit more.

Bold indeed! Henry had the good manner to look away when those things happened! But he does flush a little at the reminder.

"Is it common for people to be so open with their, uh, affections in your... time?"

"Mmmm...yes and no. It depends on preference. People are definitely more open with their affections in my time though. But generally they don't always get as bold as Vegas gets. There usually is a line that is for the bedroom." But he wasn't about to discourage Vegas either because he loved it so much too. Pete tried to keep how horny he was as a person under wraps but Vegas always saw through that.

Henry hummed thoughtfully. He should talk to Gaura about these things. Maybe dare to hold his hand in public!

"It's strange to me. But... it's also rather nice to see people admiring each other."

"Strange? I take it that it's not that common where you're from?"

Henry did seem to be from the past but he hadn't wanted to assume an era. Just in case he was wrong and Henry was just old fashioned or something.

"In my place and time, a courting couple couldn't even been seen in public without a chaperone! They might walk arm-in-arm without anyone lifting a brow but anything more than that? Even married couples tend to keep those sorts of things out of the public view."

Pete nodded slowly to show that he understood but in the end he ended up frowning a bit. "That sounds stifling honestly. Sorry, I know that's your culture and I don't want to disrespect it but..." He shuddered. "I don't think I could live like that. I like being able to express my feelings for people I care about without someone having to watch over me to tell me I shouldn't."

Henry nodded. "I don't disagree. It's particularly difficult for people who, ah, are like us?" He meant gay. Or rather, who weren't in opposite-sex relationships.

"Like us?" It took him a moment to figure out what he meant. After all, Henry seemed like he came from a very different background than him. Oh. Oh wait. "You mean gay?"

He nodded subtly. That's the term he's heard people use here. So, yes, that seemed correct. "Where I come from, a man such as myself becomes what society calls a confirmed bachelor."

"That's rough." Pete thought about that for a bit. "Where I come from is one of the most progressive Asian countries in terms of people like us. There's still a lot of work to go but we're definitely more accepted there."

He reached over to put a hand on Henry's shoulder. "But you're not where you're from now. You can be as open as you want to here. You can celebrate your preferences now."

He looked across the room, grey eyes easily finding his pink fiance. It makes him sigh and smile just to see him chatting with others in that friendly way of him. They've never talked about it, but he can surmise that Gaura's life hasn't been an easy one. Henry? His life was easy, comfortable until the last couple years. Admittedly, some of the discomfort was Henry's own doing. But seeing Gaura laughing and smiling, seeing him still so happy and wanting to be kind, it made Henry feel like the last few years had been worth it all.

"I'm trying. For him." Ah, that sappy smile made his eyes glaze over a little. "He's a very modern man."

Pete slid his gaze over to Gaura. Even without really knowing the man he could see someone who had been through it but had decided to come out as a kind and loving soul. You didn't see people like that a lot. Henry had found himself someone very special. That much was for sure.

He smiled at his new friend. "What matters is that you're trying? Long as he's happy you're succeeding."

Henry hummed softly, still gazing across the room like a lovesick schoolgirl. When he finally looks back to Pete, there's a softness on his features. But he lowered his voice despite the bustling conversation around them.

"This is the first time in my life I've wanted to make someone else happy... not just be happy myself."

"You're so in love."

And he loved that he got to see it. It was such a good look on Henry. Loving someone so much that he didn't want to just think about himself anymore. Yeah, Gaura had to be a really special guy.

Considering what a selfish person Henry was, that was saying something!

Henry huffed a little laugh then nudged Pete's shoulder gently. "You should see how you look at your husband. It's like the rest of the world just disappears when you do."

"Well, that's how it feels."

He did look down like he was bashful though. But honestly he wasn't really. Especially not these days. Being with Vegas was like being married to a force of nature. It wasn't easy to remember to be bashful with someone like that.
