Maglor July catchall
⌛ Who: Maglor & whoever!
⌛ What: Maglor got a music box that broadcasts his thoughts. He doesn't know this. Yet. Also just general July things.
⌛ When: all though July
⌛ Where: all over
⌛ Warnings: depending on who tags him and what they ask, topics may delve dark
Music Box: Thoughts Edition
See, here's the thing about Maglor. His thoughts are noisy. His family could have mentioned how 99% of the time he was composing in his youth - this has not, in fact, gotten any better as he's gotten older - it's just that the 1% not dedicated to music got LOUD.
So it's a toss up if the music box tunes in to his thoughts if one is going to get a sudden jangle of whatever composition he's working on at the moment (it might sound like a cacophony of noise, or something very close to the most perfect symphony you've ever heard, depending) or just random rambling streams of thoughts.
He's surprisingly paternal, if you listen to his thoughts. There's a lot of worrying over... pretty much everyone.
Music Box: Memories Edition
The memories that the box picks vary - you might run into him staring fondly at the image of a large, noisy family doing all sorts of things from playing to crafting to fighting to just existing, to brilliant great light sources that happen to look a bit like trees, to beautiful cities that look like paintings, to much darker memories - lonely shores, fire and war, long tiring nights guarding those behind him, all the way to softly sad memories - dark haired twins in a cold castle.
He'll talk about any of them, if asked, but probably won't notice any watchers to discuss them without being prompted.
Soul Artifact
".............we don't have to do this, if you don't want to."
He's very not sure if he WANTS to know what his soul artifact is. But this is what they've been asked to do so...
(It's a harp. Just a harp. His shoulders will drop in relief when it is revealed - clearly, he was expecting something else. But when the strings are touched... Something like grief will cross his face. )
Trial of Promise
"You cannot leave until you..." He reads out slowly, in the dim cave his glow is striking, especially since there's no other source of light barring the words on the wall.
"...Ah." He sighs, unhappily.
Trial of Devotion
He eyes the mountain and wonders aloud, "Do you think they mind if we cheat? I wonder if I can put them to sleep?"
Alternatively, he could just fight his way up. The odds are better than many times in his past.
"What do you think?"
Trial of Love
He waits only until the rules are announced before stating, very calmly; "That's fine. I'll just break mine."
What is such pain after all, compared to all the pain he has already had in his life?
He'll immediately move to smash the harp on any available surface unless stopped.

Always following, until there was no way for him to follow.
"Eh, I don't know how much helping Curvo did." Maglor says dubiously. "I'm pretty sure Moryo babysat the Ambarussa more than he did. But we did all try and pitch in. Some... less than successfully."
no subject
"Oh, he didn't help much, but he tried to. Just not with any babysitting if he could help it. I remember quite a few "inventions" that were supposed to make housework easier, wether or not they succeeded though..."
no subject
"... were those supposed to be helpful?!"
no subject
"Yes. At least that's what I got out of him when I asked him about it..." And it had taken him a long while before he managed to get even a word out of their brothers mouth about those things.
no subject
"...........I am pretty sure the only person who thought THAT monstrosity was helpful was him." Maglor says doubtfully, clearly having flashbacks.
no subject
"I'll have to agree with you on that... he meant well but it probably caused more problems than it solved. Whatever that thing was supposed to be." Maedhros was still at a loss as to what his little brother had been trying to invent.
no subject
"Didn't it set the kitchen on fire?" Maglor recalls with a shudder.
"I suppose I am grateful he grew out of that phase..."
no subject
"And tear down some of the shelves..." It had been an utter disaster.
"I've never been so relived as when Curvo stopped trying to invent things to help with household chores."
no subject
"Didn't he flood the baths, once too?" He shudders. "Yes, I know he didn't like making swords, but somehow he was less destructive making weaponry than... those things."
no subject
"I actually think he broke them, they had to be replaced after that incident." Wich had been a nightmare to fix. "Weaponry at least don't move unless you want it to."
no subject
".... he did try automatic catapaults that one time...."
no subject
"At least the catapults didn't target us?" That was debatable, they certainly had caused them a certain amount of problems.
no subject
"Deliberately. The catapults did not target us deliberately."
no subject
"Well... no one got squished by them..." That had to count for something, right?
no subject
"Except the warehouse..."
no subject
"And everything in it..."
no subject
"I am only speaking truth!"
He shudders. "I am so glad he didn't try anything automated after that. He did have fun with your replacement hands though. Remember the Knife Hand?"
no subject
"How could anyone forget the Knife Hand!? It was my second favorite hand. Highly practical and it gave me a unique look."
no subject
"You were very fond of the Knife Hand. Terrified a few people on accident with it."
no subject
"It's adorable that you think those were accidents. I miss the Knife Hand, I wonder if I could get anyone here to make a new one for me..."
no subject
"How dare you accuse your baby brother of lying~"
Maglor snorts and points. "I knew it! No one ever believed me but I knew that was deliberate! And I'm sure we could ask around, if you really want another. It won't be as good, of course."
no subject
"And now you're pretending to be innocent as well. Mother would be so disapointed, Kano."
Maedhros smirks. "Come on, I have to be alowed to have some fun as well. And besides I never terrified anyone that didn't have it comming. Perhaps I should... do you think Elrond would mind terribly if I decided to get a Knife hand?"
no subject
"Absolutely innocent of all shenanigans I am being accused of."
"I'm sure the only thing Elrond will mind is if you don't let him help you get one!"
no subject
"Really Kano, if you're going to lie at least do it convincingly."
"Perhaps I should ask him? I'm not sure either of us knows the best place to comission something like that."
no subject
"How cruel!"
"That's true, he tends to know people who might be able to help..."
