Tay said drinks were on him when all that madness in the Western Kingdom was over. Vegas wasn't about to forget that. There was a lot to celebrate, after all! Vegas and Pete eloped, Tay survived, they were all reunited, they had some solid plans for the future. They may not be able to find a club in the way Tay would like, but if the night turned into a bar crawl, would any of them complain? Wherever they landed, Vegas was sure to be buying the most expensive drinks on the menu since he's not paying.

The place had music -- nothing like they're used to, but at least it had music. Which would make for an interesting night as the longer they're out and the more champagne Vegas drinks, the more likely he is to try to drag the others into dancing (especially Pete). It may not be what they're used to, but they can still have a good time, right?

"Oh yes!" Henry chirped. "It was difficult being confined to the house. I'm used to being able to do some exploration every day. The timing of your party is so very nice." Not only was it nice to be able to leave the house without worrying about what might happen, but it was so great to spend time with friends!

"Well we had to celebrate the three of you coming out of that alright. I'm glad you're alright." Happy to see his drink too, he thanked the bartender then returned his attention to Henry. "Do you guys need any help for repairs? I'm pretty good with my hands!"

"We're going to take stock of the damage tomorrow. There's nothing readily noticeable, but there could be something. I'll let you know."

He nodded in thanks, appreciative of the offer. "Gaura's plants did a good job protecting the house. And Tay kept most of the monsters away. Where did you stay in the East?"

"We stayed at one of the temples. The Daoist keepers let me use their archery range as a shooting range for my shotgun. With modified targets, of course. They let us stay there while we were in the East."

It hadn't been the best but it had been enough to allow Vegas to finish healing. And for them to go on that magical date that had led to them eloping. "I wasn't expecting to elope while we were there but that's the way things always go with Vegas and I."

"Spontaneous," Henry quipped with a nod. It reminded him a little of when he and Gaura got engaged. He wasn't even sure they were, at first! "Did you get married at the temple you were staying at?"

"We found a Buddhist temple actually. We may not be devote but we're Buddhist so it was important to us to have that at least." And it had made it special to have the wedding done in their religion, devout or not. "We ran back to where we were staying after to celebrate."

Celebrate. Henry's cheeks go warm because he's sure he knew exactly what Pete meant. But the earlier comment made him thoughtful. "I should ask Gaura about that before we start making wedding plans."

"Do you follow any religion? Or I guess do you belong to a temple or church even if you don't?" He knew plenty of people like that. Atheists really but they still belonged to a certain practice anyway because it was as much a part of their culture as it was anything else.

"I'm Anglican, but I don't really practice." He believes in God and all that, but he's not the sort to go to church every Sunday.

"I haven't seen any churches yet but I haven't been looking for them either. Still, I can help you look for something whatever you two decide. I'm pretty good at finding things." For reasons he obviously wouldn't get into right now.

"I wouldn't be bothered if we don't have a religious ceremony," he admitted. "Unless that's important to Gaura."

"You both have that garden right? Maybe you could do something that suits you both there. That would be really nice." And it suited them from what he could tell! It was a wedding he'd probably cry at attending but he didn't mind that fact.

"We do, yes," Henry affirmed with a bob of his head. "It means a great deal to us." It's their livelihood as well as something they both love and treasure. A wedding in their garden sounded so romantic! "We've only been engaged a short while. We haven't really discussed any details or even set a date yet."

"It's good to take your time! Not everyone has to be like Vegas and I!" And have a sort of argument that resulted in them eloping. But that was just very them. Very, very them. Pete grinned at him. "Honestly as long as you two are happy that's all that matters right?"

That makes him smile. Henry looks down, a little bashfully. "Where I come from, it would be a scandal for a couple to live together before marriage." He made a bit of a face, then shrugged. "Then again, where eI come from, men cannot marry other men."

"You'll find that in my time couples live together before marriage all the time. Some never even get married." He gave him a little nudge. "And two men? They can definitely get married. So we'll make sure you two have the best wedding."

"That's so lovely!" His society treated marriage and parenthood as if they were the epitome of human experience. It didn't think about those who couldn't have those things and how its primacy made them feel. Before meeting Gaura, Henry had considered himself a confirmed bachelor.

Henry's smile softened as he turned his attention from the crowd celebrating back to Pete. "I am very happy for you, my friend. I wish you and your husband all the happiness."

"Thanks. We had a really rough start but we've figured everything out. Honestly we'll probably always have some rough patches but we understand each other better than anyone else can."

He watched Vegas go to start dancing with someone, a fresh drink in hand. He'd have to go join him soon. Soon though, he wanted to talk to Henry a bit longer first. "He saw me in ways no one ever had before."

Henry nodded. "That's important to understand." He's sure he and Gaura would have hard times at some point, they haven't really yet. But he knew he'd be willing to work through any hard times. they could face their problems together and come out stronger for it.

"He looks at you differently than he does other people," Henry pointed out. "You do, too."

"You mean like how your tail wags whenever you look at Gaura?"

Pete grinned at his new friend. He was well aware of how flustered Henry was about to get over the discovery but seriously the opening was too good.

"What?"

Henry craned his neck to look at the traitor behind him and did his best to try to grab at it... which may or may not have left him walking in a circle for a moment. Like a dog chasing his own tail.

Pete burst out laughing at the sight of it. A grown and dignified man chasing his own tail. It was hilarious.

"It's fine, it's fine! You're going to fall over if you keep that up!"

"Traitor!" he hissed over his shoulder to his tail!

"Your face would be a giveaway even if you didn't have a tail. You look like a schoolgirl with her first crush every time you look at him." It was honestly so cute. Pete loved seeing that amount of love all over Henry's face.

Henry frowns a little and his ears droop slightly. "It's not my first," he insisted with a tiny pout.
