Open Catch-All (TDM Prompts)

⌛ Who: Gaura and whoever joins him!
⌛ What: Some TDM prompts and general exploring
⌛ When: Beginning of June
⌛ Where: Various locations
⌛ Warnings: Gaura has face blindness so if your character has met him before and he doesn't recognize them immediately that will be why!

I. Arukibake

While wandering around to try to get to know his surroundings better, Gaura had noticed the little creatures were following him. However, their presence didn't bother him since they seemed harmless. Though since they'd started following him he'd been given many offers of food and comfort. It was strange honestly. Confusing. But now he had an armful of food that he'd been given which made handling his device a challenge.

Sure that he'd made a wrong turn somewhere, he paused to try to handle the abundance of food he held, the little creatures gathered around his feed to gaze up at him. More coming as he thought about how nice it would be to share all this food with someone but didn't have any of his new friends near him.

"Do you eat, little ones? I can't tell..." he murmured with a soft sigh.

II. Sarusawa Pond

Finding the pond had honestly been an accident. However, he couldn't say that he had any regrets. The water was so much like glass that he was able to see every star reflected in it. Sitting next to the pond, he brought out the instrument that he'd purchased at a stall and started to figure out how to play the bamboo flute. It took a little bit of time but soon he was messing around with the sound to create a lovely melody.

Unaware of any company he might lured over with the music, he kept his eyes closed while he played, at peace in the shadows of the night with just the stars to light the world around him.

III. Meteor Shower

Never before had he seen anything so beautiful. With all the lights out the sky was so clear and every star that fell brought a gasp from his lips. Gaura couldn't stop smiling as he gazed at the wonderful rainbow tails of some that fell. Though whispers of wishes could be heard around him he didn't make a wish himself. He wasn't even sure what he would wish for in the first place except for the happiness of everyone that he'd met here so far.

Perhaps he should call one of them to join him. Henry in particular would probably find wonder in the magic of the rainbow tails. But he didn't want to bother any of them in case they were busy. He could always tell them about it later if need be. They would like hearing the story, of that he was certain.

Reaching up a hand, he pretended like he could catch one, even though he knew how impossible that was. "...beautiful..."

Ah, yes, he did hear that. Just barely. The confession brought a smile to his lips and, though probably unseen in the dark, a brightness to his pale eyes. If Silver wanted something momentary, he could have had dozens of flings in the time he'd been in Nippon. But that wasn't really his style. Sure, he was lonely and touch-starved, but that's from two years alone before his arrival here.

He let his fingers trail over Gaura's shoulder, content to lie with him like this. It was relaxing and sweet and just... perfect with the shooting stars above them. He thought back to the times he laid in the Wood watching the stars flicker between the thick canopy of leaves... Or later when he stared out the ruined roof of his estate to see the sky. This was better because he was with someone dear to him.

"What would you do if you did manage to catch a falling star?"

What would he do? That was a good question, one he had to take a moment to think about. Logically he knew that he could never catch one because it would be too big. However, this was a magically place and so it opened up a world of opportunities he'd never considered before. Thinking a moment more, Gaura finally settled on what his answer would be.

"I'd set it in a window so that everyone could enjoy how beautiful it was. And if it still had a wish to grant I would find someone who needs that wish more than I do."

It just didn't seem right to keep it all to himself.

Good God he's so sweet. The thoughtfulness of Gaura's answer moved Silver even more. He smiled into the night like a complete idiot. But he kept his arm around the other man and held him just a little closer. If this was Gaura's wish, Silver was more than happy to be a part of it.

"That's very kind," he muses softly.

Having it noted that it was kind made him blush some but he smiled too. He hadn't even realized that it was a kind act honestly. It had just made sense to do it that way. It was what felt right.

"I know I couldn't ever have a star to light a window though. But it's really nice to dream about things like that."

Well, now Silver's gone and had an idea. Not that he plans to share it with Gaura. If it works out, he wanted it to be a surprise.

"Maybe dreams can come true in this place."

Nuzzling against his chest some, his long finger played with the lapel of Henry's clothes again. The texture of the fabric as just so nice against his skin. Comfortable and smelling of someone who was so safe and warm.

"That would be nice. I've always had a silly dream. That I'd find someone to be with and we'd have a house with a garden." Gaura closed his eyes with a little sigh as he remembered it. "Silly..."

"You would have liked my estate in Greenhollow. It had gardens and an enchanted wood." It's bittersweet thinking of home and all he left behind. But there's truth in his words. Gaura probably would have liked the estate before Silver went and destroyed the better part of it in a fit of depression.

"Really? That feels like it's out of a story." Watching the last of the stars fall, he smiled more. This had been such a magical experience, one he'd only dreamed of sharing with another. Having it be real was beyond anything he could measure.

"Thank you for joining me to watch this. I don't know how to tell you how much it means to me."

Silver sighed, completely content to lie there as the shooting stars began to vanish. In addition to the flickering stars, he took note of Gaura's heartbeat, the gentle rise and fall of his chest as he breathed.

"You don't have to say anything at all."

That was nice. That he didn't have to say anything. Henry would just understand. Lifting his head, he looked at the man with a soft smile on his face. This man was really so special to him already. He didn't know why they'd been led together and that didn't matter either. He was just glad it had happened.

"Okay." Shyly, he shifted so he could press a kiss to his cheek instead. He could let that be his gratitude displayed instead.

Silver's heart stuttered and for a brief moment, he found himself speechless. A part of him wanted to kiss Gaura back, but properly. But, it was probably too soon for something like that. So instead, he just hugged his friend closer. Their close proximity was something he could enjoy without having to press for more.

"I'll talk enough for both of us," he warned with a slight laugh.

"I like when you talk. Listening to you is really peaceful."

Safe. Warm. It felt good to listen to the man and all of his wealth of knowledge. Maybe at some point he could even share all of his story with him. It wouldn't be anything impressive like fairies or vampires. But it would be something. "Are you ready to go home?"

It's a little bittersweet to hear that. Tobias also liked listening to him, whether he was talking or singing. It was the cadence of his voice, the man told him. The peaks and valleys in the manner in which he speaks. But, it's nice to know that someone here can appreciate that, as well.

Silver loosened his hold on Gaura so the other man could move and reluctantly pushed himself to sit up. "Whenever you are," he answers with a smile in his voice.

Gaura got to his feet then held out his hand so he could help Henry to his feet. He smiled warmly at him as he did, his eyes practically sparkling with how happy he was at the moment.

"I'm always ready to go home with you."

Silver took the proffered hand and pulled himself to his feet with an exaggerated groan. He brushed the wrinkles from his suit and then offered his arm to Gaura. He's sure there was grass stuck to his back and maybe even in his hair, but he didn't mind (usually, Silver is very particular about his appearance). Plenty of people laid in the grass to stare up at the stars right along with them. Nothing scandalous there.

"Do you think it's too late to cook something?"

Taking the offered arm like he always did when they walked together, he hummed in thought. It was pretty late but he had been out there a long time. So he should eat something. And Henry was probably hungry too if he was asking about it. Gaura shook his head in the end, giving him a smile.

"No. It's not too late. I can always make something quick and filling for us to have for dinner. Does that sound good?"

"Just something light would be fine," he assured. "I don't want to keep you up too late," he added, giving a little playful nudge. As if he didn't routinely keep Gaura up late regaling him with stories.

"I don't mind if you do." Henry kept him up late all the time. Telling him stories of his research or discoveries he'd made. So late that he'd be unable to keep his eyes open. Gaura felt a little bad about it but he never wanted to excuse himself.

Being in Henry's company was warm and safe. More than that he couldn't get enough of his voice. Leaving in the middle just wasn't an option.

Silver couldn't help smiling. He's grown accustomed to their routine so quickly, telling tales or singing songs to his dear friend until the Gaura fell asleep on his lap or in his bed. And Silver never had the heart (or the strength, honestly) to move him. The last thing he wanted was to disturb Gaura's sleep.

"What would you suggest for a midnight snack?"

"Sandwiches. With toasted bread."

Gaura already knew he had some meat and cheese he could slice up. And he was sure he had some lettuce he could add for some crunch. Something that would be filling but easy on the stomach so late. Especially if he made one and they each had half of it.

"If we're careful we can eat them sitting in bed too." He always planned to go back to his bed, of course. He was even planning to tonight as well. Gaura just...never made it there.

Well, Silver wasn't complaining about the company in his own room. It made him feel more comfortable when Gaura fell asleep in his bed and Silver could curl up beside him. He liked Gaura a lot and took comfort in having the other man sleeping beside him. Perhaps it should go against his sensibilities, but he liked Gaura, so... Yes. It was fine.

"I don't know if I can be trusted to keep from getting crumbs all over."

"That's what towels are for. You put them over your lap then the crumbs fall on the towel. When you're done you just lift the towel up and everything under it is clean." But since Henry seemed to have come from a privileged background he wasn't that surprised that he didn't know about the towel solution. That was fine. Gaura had fun showing him silly things like that.

"I'll show you after I make the sandwiches."

"Really?" He's shocked by this simple solution! "That's so clever!"

Gaura burst into giggles and nodded. He'd had a feeling that Henry wouldn't have known about it. It was really cute. "Mm. We can keep our laps and the bed safe and shake the crumbs off into the sink. Easy."

"I would never have thought of that!" He's still a little awed by the simplicity of the solution. "How did you learn it?"
