Maglor July catchall
⌛ Who: Maglor & whoever!
⌛ What: Maglor got a music box that broadcasts his thoughts. He doesn't know this. Yet. Also just general July things.
⌛ When: all though July
⌛ Where: all over
⌛ Warnings: depending on who tags him and what they ask, topics may delve dark
Music Box: Thoughts Edition
See, here's the thing about Maglor. His thoughts are noisy. His family could have mentioned how 99% of the time he was composing in his youth - this has not, in fact, gotten any better as he's gotten older - it's just that the 1% not dedicated to music got LOUD.
So it's a toss up if the music box tunes in to his thoughts if one is going to get a sudden jangle of whatever composition he's working on at the moment (it might sound like a cacophony of noise, or something very close to the most perfect symphony you've ever heard, depending) or just random rambling streams of thoughts.
He's surprisingly paternal, if you listen to his thoughts. There's a lot of worrying over... pretty much everyone.
Music Box: Memories Edition
The memories that the box picks vary - you might run into him staring fondly at the image of a large, noisy family doing all sorts of things from playing to crafting to fighting to just existing, to brilliant great light sources that happen to look a bit like trees, to beautiful cities that look like paintings, to much darker memories - lonely shores, fire and war, long tiring nights guarding those behind him, all the way to softly sad memories - dark haired twins in a cold castle.
He'll talk about any of them, if asked, but probably won't notice any watchers to discuss them without being prompted.
Soul Artifact
".............we don't have to do this, if you don't want to."
He's very not sure if he WANTS to know what his soul artifact is. But this is what they've been asked to do so...
(It's a harp. Just a harp. His shoulders will drop in relief when it is revealed - clearly, he was expecting something else. But when the strings are touched... Something like grief will cross his face. )
Trial of Promise
"You cannot leave until you..." He reads out slowly, in the dim cave his glow is striking, especially since there's no other source of light barring the words on the wall.
"...Ah." He sighs, unhappily.
Trial of Devotion
He eyes the mountain and wonders aloud, "Do you think they mind if we cheat? I wonder if I can put them to sleep?"
Alternatively, he could just fight his way up. The odds are better than many times in his past.
"What do you think?"
Trial of Love
He waits only until the rules are announced before stating, very calmly; "That's fine. I'll just break mine."
What is such pain after all, compared to all the pain he has already had in his life?
He'll immediately move to smash the harp on any available surface unless stopped.

no subject
He knows Maglor can fend for himself but what kind of brother would he be if he stood by and did nothing while people tried to do who knows what to his little brother.
"And I thank you for your sacrifice, also as far as I know he never grew out of biting if provoked enough."
no subject
But he leans against his brother, appreciating that Maedhros would still want to.
"Yes, but at least he stopped doing it in public?"
no subject
He smiles at Maglor and puts an arm around his shoulders.
"That we know of..."
no subject
"......well I don't know that slapping someone in public is any better, but I suppose at least he didn't stab anyone."
That they know of.
no subject
"Let's all be grateful there has never been any talk about any stabbings occuring, shall we?"
He'd like to keep living in blissful ignorance even if Moryo had stabbed someone without his knowledge.
no subject
"If he did he had the decency to bribe everyone to keep it quiet?"
no subject
"I don't know... how much would you have to pay someone to keep quiet about something like that?"
no subject
"I don't know, but if any of us could afford to pay it would be Caranthir..."
no subject
"Undoubtedly he could, but would he?"
no subject
"I don't know," he says thoughtfully. "I have no idea what Caranthir thinks is worth paying for. But to keep things from bothering you.... maybe?"
no subject
"It's hard to tell with him sometimes." Moryo could be very considerate at times. "He could be very sweet at times... in his own way, of course."
And bribing someone to keep any potential stabbings from becoming his headache to deal with would have been a strangely sweet gesture from their brother.
no subject
"But in his own way, he showed how he cared. Here, if we head back home, I'm sure I have spare shirts. That way, you won't have to worry."
no subject
"He did, either with warm clothes or a smack to the head when he thought we were being stupid. Let's go then."
no subject
Maglor murmurs, sinking for a moment into melancholy.
"And that Caranthir is making a nuisance of himself to Lord Namo."
no subject
He's tried to not think of it too much, since there really isn't anything he can do about it but the thoughts have a way of creeping in at unexpected times.
"He would, wouldn't he? He'd complain incessantly about how poorly he manages his halls."
no subject
"He'd find fault with everything! From the accommodation to the processing to the decorating..."
no subject
Fondness and melancholy colors his tone in equal measure. Thinking of any of their brothers is painful, but not thinking about them hurts even worse.
no subject
He murmurs and nudges against Maedhros's shoulder.
"Remember how he and Tyelko fought? It was good that we had space enough for a room for everyone!"
no subject
He nudges back and smiles at his brother.
"Like cats and dogs they were! They never could figure out how to comunicate well with eachother, did they? Can you imagine if they had to share one? I don't think the house would have survived!"
no subject
Maglor chuckles softly. "I think everyone is glad Tyelko was an outdoors person and Moryo was not! At least it was easy to keep them apart."
no subject
"Until Tyelko decided Moryo had spent to much time indoors and decided to try to drag him outside!"
no subject
"And then Ambarussa came along and also decided to be outdoor people! Poor Moryo."
no subject
"I did my best to be a buffer between them. But alas! I am only one man and can only do so much."
no subject
"You did your best by us." Maglor says fondly. "I don't think any of us could have asked for more."
no subject
"I tried, at least." He agrees. "You were a great help as well. When you were old enough to do so."
