Open Catch-All (TDM Prompts)

⌛ Who: Gaura and whoever joins him!
⌛ What: Some TDM prompts and general exploring
⌛ When: Beginning of June
⌛ Where: Various locations
⌛ Warnings: Gaura has face blindness so if your character has met him before and he doesn't recognize them immediately that will be why!

I. Arukibake

While wandering around to try to get to know his surroundings better, Gaura had noticed the little creatures were following him. However, their presence didn't bother him since they seemed harmless. Though since they'd started following him he'd been given many offers of food and comfort. It was strange honestly. Confusing. But now he had an armful of food that he'd been given which made handling his device a challenge.

Sure that he'd made a wrong turn somewhere, he paused to try to handle the abundance of food he held, the little creatures gathered around his feed to gaze up at him. More coming as he thought about how nice it would be to share all this food with someone but didn't have any of his new friends near him.

"Do you eat, little ones? I can't tell..." he murmured with a soft sigh.

II. Sarusawa Pond

Finding the pond had honestly been an accident. However, he couldn't say that he had any regrets. The water was so much like glass that he was able to see every star reflected in it. Sitting next to the pond, he brought out the instrument that he'd purchased at a stall and started to figure out how to play the bamboo flute. It took a little bit of time but soon he was messing around with the sound to create a lovely melody.

Unaware of any company he might lured over with the music, he kept his eyes closed while he played, at peace in the shadows of the night with just the stars to light the world around him.

III. Meteor Shower

Never before had he seen anything so beautiful. With all the lights out the sky was so clear and every star that fell brought a gasp from his lips. Gaura couldn't stop smiling as he gazed at the wonderful rainbow tails of some that fell. Though whispers of wishes could be heard around him he didn't make a wish himself. He wasn't even sure what he would wish for in the first place except for the happiness of everyone that he'd met here so far.

Perhaps he should call one of them to join him. Henry in particular would probably find wonder in the magic of the rainbow tails. But he didn't want to bother any of them in case they were busy. He could always tell them about it later if need be. They would like hearing the story, of that he was certain.

Reaching up a hand, he pretended like he could catch one, even though he knew how impossible that was. "...beautiful..."

"Maybe they will," he quipped. "This place is magical, after all. Who's to say you can't catch stars in your hands?"

If it were possible in any place, why wouldn't it be this one? Ah, but Silver's always been a little enamored of magic and Nippon is full of it, all kinds of it! It's easy to forget that nature has its own sort of magic when it creates sights like this. Grey eyes fall closed for a second as Silver breathes in the clean scent of grass and the damp air from the water nearby. When they open again, he's turned his gaze from Gaura to the sky. And slowly, he stretches his arm just a little to brush his fingers against Gaura's hand.

"Really?" Looking back up the sky again, he sighed softly at the thought. Being able to have stars in his hands? It seemed so impossible and yet he knew that Henry was right. This place could do so many amazing things. Why wouldn't it be able to allow him to hold stars as well?

Gaura smiled at the thought, not realizing at first that his hand was being touched. When he did though, he smiled a little more and moved his hand closer to Henry's so he could take it if he wanted to. The easy physical affection was just too nice to resist.

"Would you wish for anything on the rainbow ones?"

"Really," he affirmed in a voice that was so certain! Certain because he already had an idea forming for how to make it happen. But that would be Silver's secret for now. All the better to surprise Gaura with something sweet after how kind he's been.

Easy physical affection is something he's missed over the last few years. When everything went sideways and he felt like he was just going through the motions. When the threat of immortality loomed endlessly in front of him. In a way, he's glad that's all done. But in this moment, he's happy exactly where he is, with the companion beside him. Silver takes Gaura's hand and hums in thought.

He could wish for Tobias, but then who would care for his mother? He'd done enough harm to her once, it's amazing either of them were able to forgive him for it.

"I would wish for more nights like this, without a care."

That was such a beautiful wish. He liked it. Humming thoughtfully, he shifted close so that his head was basically resting on Henry's shoulder. Also he could talk quietly into the dark without anyone else but the man hearing him.

"I didn't want to make a wish because I couldn't think of anything. But then I was thinking that if I made a wish I'd want to share how beautiful this is with someone like you. Then you came. I don't think I made a wish but if I did I'm glad it came true."

It was so silly, he wouldn't blame the man if he laughed at him. Still, Gaura didn't regret his confession as he lifted a hand to trace the path one of the stars had taken above him.

What's silly is the way Silver's heart misses a beat when Gaura lays his head against his shoulder and how fireworks seem to go off in his mind at the confession. Gaura is the exact opposite of Silver's type; he's probably around Silver's own age and he lacks the sort of gruffness that Silver often finds himself drawn to. And yet... Gaura's kind and sweet, he's interested in Silver's passions and interesting himself.

"I'm glad, too," he mused, watching as the other's hand formed a shadow in his view. Silence falls between them for a moment as they take in the night sky. And Silver finds himself hemming and hawing a question over in his mind before he finally blurts it out.

"Gaura, are you interested in men?"

Letting his hand fall to his stomach, he enjoyed the silence between them. It was comfortable. Without a sense of heaviness or expectation. Just them enjoying this moment together. He couldn't help but to smile softly to himself as he enjoyed the warmth of Henry next to him.

The question surprised him though. For a time he wasn't sure what to even say. But that wasn't fair to Henry who had asked him a question that honestly deserved an answer. Even if he wasn't sure where it had come from. With a deep breath, Gaura finally responded quietly.

"I was born with a condition known as Prosopagnosia...face blindness. I cannot recognize faces so I don't know what emotions people are showing me, who they are, or even what gender they are. It's why I get lost so easily as well. But gender is something I get confused by so I never was able to find myself attracted to physical appearance or gender. It was always a person's heart I was drawn to. How warm it is, how full of life."

Gaura sighed softly. "Like yours. It's warm and vibrant and safe. It makes me so happy to be near it."

Silence fell again for a moment and then he suddenly realized what he'd said. God, Henry likely didn't want him like that. Didn't want to think of him that way. It was inappropriate to say such things like this to him. Curling on his side, he ended up burying his face against Henry's shoulder to hide it.

"I'm...I'm sorry. I don't expect you to like me that way. I just..." Just what? He had no idea where he was going with that.

Silver turned his head to watch the outline of Gaura's lips as he spoke. It was clear as he explained that his condition weighed on him. That's probably why he had no one to speak of in his home. The thought made Silver's heart ache for him. How truly alone who must feel.

"There's nothing for which to be sorry," he assured. He shifts slightly to get an arm around Gaura and gives him a light squeeze. "I'm just glad I can bring you some happiness."

Gaura didn't know why he turned to the person he must have brought discomfort to. Yet here he was. And Henry had even offered him comfort at the same time. He was so kind to him. It was...

He slowly lifted his head to not hide it, his cheeks flushed with color. "...You do. You have since I met you. I was just so happy to be near you and listen to you. I don't want to ruin that."

"Then I'm happy," he admitted quietly. "Because that's all I want, too." Gaura brought out his softness and made him excited about the world once more. He didn't want to do anything that might ruin the relationship they've built thus far.

"Would it be helpful to you if I wore something distinguishing? Like an orange flower in my lapel?"

Henry would do that for him? Wear a flower in his lapel so he'd always know it was him when they were outside their apartment? His cheeks colored more at how nice that was, unable to stop himself from lifting his head more so he could smile at the other man.

"Mm. It would. I'd always know that it's you. That would make me really happy." To have that constant comfort from someone already so precious to him meant the world.

Indeed he would do that for Gaura! He already considered the other man a friend - maybe more, but a friend at the very least. It's such a small thing to do to help his friend, Silver has no hesitation.

"Maybe a dahlia?"

Without even thinking about it, he'd ended up rolling over more and putting his chin on Henry's chest. He didn't know if the man even know flower language at all but the meaning of that flower certainly put a dreamy look in Gaura's eyes. "A lasting bond and..."

He let his words drift off, not wanting to overwhelm his friend. Instead he just shook his head and smiled at him. "It's perfect."

He does, actually, know floral language, so the pick was significant to him. Perhaps it was a little too forward, but... Well, it's already said and done. It isn't unlike Silver to rush into things, especially when his feelings are concerned. Well, that's always but, no one ever said Silver was the cleverest. He is, after all, a selfish creature at heart. And what he wants now is to spend time with Gaura, learn more about him, try to keep him happy.

"I'm glad you agree."

Even though it was probably too intimate, he'd already somehow leapt over the boundary. Well, intimate in terms of cuddling since he was pressed to Henry's side with a hand on his chest. Still, he smiled gently and went to rest his head on his chest to listen to his heart as he watched the stars again. Somehow being this close just felt right. Good even.

"Thank you for joining me. And all the other wonderful things you've done for me. You're an amazing person, Henry."

He kept his arm around Gaura, holding him just a little more firmly than before. This sort of thing was comfortable, despite their short acquaintance. His heart beat steady, if a little faster than usual. This was something he could easily get used to. It was different with Tobias, the man being as big as he is, and it was always Silver tucking against his side, head on his shoulder. Now he definitely sees the appeal of having it the other way around.

Gaura's words brought warmth to his cheeks and he gave a little squeeze to acknowledge them. "You are precious to me, Gaura."

Xingchen had told him that too. That he was precious to him. It was funny how it sounded different when Henry said it though. In a good way, of course. Smiling to himself, he let his fingers play with the lapel of Henry's clothes while the stars continued to fall above them. He'd been so sure he hadn't made a wish yet he almost felt like he had now that he had this moment with the man.

"You are precious to me too," he murmured softly after a moment. He hoped the man heard but he knew that his voice was quiet. That was alright though. As long as he could have times like this with him.

Ah, yes, he did hear that. Just barely. The confession brought a smile to his lips and, though probably unseen in the dark, a brightness to his pale eyes. If Silver wanted something momentary, he could have had dozens of flings in the time he'd been in Nippon. But that wasn't really his style. Sure, he was lonely and touch-starved, but that's from two years alone before his arrival here.

He let his fingers trail over Gaura's shoulder, content to lie with him like this. It was relaxing and sweet and just... perfect with the shooting stars above them. He thought back to the times he laid in the Wood watching the stars flicker between the thick canopy of leaves... Or later when he stared out the ruined roof of his estate to see the sky. This was better because he was with someone dear to him.

"What would you do if you did manage to catch a falling star?"

What would he do? That was a good question, one he had to take a moment to think about. Logically he knew that he could never catch one because it would be too big. However, this was a magically place and so it opened up a world of opportunities he'd never considered before. Thinking a moment more, Gaura finally settled on what his answer would be.

"I'd set it in a window so that everyone could enjoy how beautiful it was. And if it still had a wish to grant I would find someone who needs that wish more than I do."

It just didn't seem right to keep it all to himself.

Good God he's so sweet. The thoughtfulness of Gaura's answer moved Silver even more. He smiled into the night like a complete idiot. But he kept his arm around the other man and held him just a little closer. If this was Gaura's wish, Silver was more than happy to be a part of it.

"That's very kind," he muses softly.

Having it noted that it was kind made him blush some but he smiled too. He hadn't even realized that it was a kind act honestly. It had just made sense to do it that way. It was what felt right.

"I know I couldn't ever have a star to light a window though. But it's really nice to dream about things like that."

Well, now Silver's gone and had an idea. Not that he plans to share it with Gaura. If it works out, he wanted it to be a surprise.

"Maybe dreams can come true in this place."

Nuzzling against his chest some, his long finger played with the lapel of Henry's clothes again. The texture of the fabric as just so nice against his skin. Comfortable and smelling of someone who was so safe and warm.

"That would be nice. I've always had a silly dream. That I'd find someone to be with and we'd have a house with a garden." Gaura closed his eyes with a little sigh as he remembered it. "Silly..."

"You would have liked my estate in Greenhollow. It had gardens and an enchanted wood." It's bittersweet thinking of home and all he left behind. But there's truth in his words. Gaura probably would have liked the estate before Silver went and destroyed the better part of it in a fit of depression.

"Really? That feels like it's out of a story." Watching the last of the stars fall, he smiled more. This had been such a magical experience, one he'd only dreamed of sharing with another. Having it be real was beyond anything he could measure.

"Thank you for joining me to watch this. I don't know how to tell you how much it means to me."

Silver sighed, completely content to lie there as the shooting stars began to vanish. In addition to the flickering stars, he took note of Gaura's heartbeat, the gentle rise and fall of his chest as he breathed.

"You don't have to say anything at all."
